Other friendship-based storylines similar to My Little Pony

For me, I might have to go for Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Persona 4, and Pokemon.  What all four of those stories have in common is the same thing as MLP: The magical power of friendship.  These stories about small bands of characters who put aside their differences, unite toward a common goal, and eventually become powerful and loyal friends.

 

Also, One Piece and Sailor Moon.  The former gave Monkey D. Luffy a small pirate crew of eight other people, three of whom are Devil Fruit eaters (Chopper, Robin, and Brook).  The latter, meanwhile, gave the title character a series of other Sailor Soldiers similar to her, from Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter, to Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

I just got done watching an anime that is about friendship. It also has many similarities to MLP and Sailor Moon.

The anime is called Smile Precure.

It's about five girls and who use magic powers, to protect Maumlrchenland (land of the fairy tales) and their world, and find a way to revive the Queen of Marchenland, before The Bad End Kingdom makes the world a bad ending. Who are four fairy tale villains who are trying to make the ultimate bad ending and bring back their evil master. 

Smile Precure, like I said, has many similarities to MLP. Not just stories, but the characters.

Miyuki/Cure Happy- Miyuki is like Pinkie Pie in many ways. She loves fairy tales and loves to smile and help other smile to. Powers energy blast.

Akane/Cure Sunny- Akane is like Rainbow Dash. She loves playing volleyball, is very athletic, helps at her families restaurant, and always full of energy. She uses fire Power.

Yayoi/Cure Peace- Yayoi is like Fluttershy. Yayoi at first is very shy and does not speak up a lot and is kinda a cry baby. Still when it's time to fight she fight with all she's got. Yayoi also like to draw and want to make mangas, one day. This girl could also give Fluttershy a run for her money in being super cute. Lighting Power.

Nao/Cure March- Nao is kinda like Applejack. Like Akane, she is also very athletic in the game of soccer. She at times is also very competitive. Weather it's sport or in other she things, they both play hard. Nao is the big sister of 6 younger brothers and sisters. So she also has to take care of them. Wind Power.

 

Reika/Cure Beauty- Finally we have Reika who is almost like Twilight in many ways. Reika likes to study and work hard. But unlike Twilight, she does not yet know what she want to do with her life or why she studies so much. Still out of all the Cures, she is the strongest one of the group. Beauty battles with the power of ice and even use the ice as swords.

 

Rarity/???- Just like season 3 there is no character who is like Rarity. But there is another season that uses fashion as the main point.

 

The villains are all bast on fairy tale. They are a Werwolf named Wolfrun, a red demean named Akaoni, a witch named Majorina, and a jester named Joker. They have different plans and attack in all kinds of ways to make the world a bad end. I like them because they have more of a theme then the heroes.

One of the best things about this show is, the girls don't act like your basic stereo types. They all seem to have very unique personalities. They don't think of boys all the time and just seem like they would be fun to be around. The show also does it's best to try and some pretty cool things.

 

Now at times the episodes can feel simple and easy to understand. But it's still a great show to me. Even at times better than MLP and Sailor Moon. You get to see the friendship between these five develop in a good way and shows that friends well always be by your side. During the good times and the bad times.

 

So if you want a more action packed MLP. I say give this show a try.

Also before I forget, Smile Precure, is not the first team. Kinda like the Super Sentai/Power Rangers and Kamen Rider, they are a long running team. So there are more.
