Mareinthemoon 348 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 i was wondering this due to around 21% of my 15 bucks going to various places before i even get it... so like 15% goes to mlp forums,3% to paypal, another 3% for conversion from cad to usd. if i increase my sale prices it would mean less work for me and less madness like this. also i was thinking of selling 16x20 canvas paintings as well in my store for around 60 (10 goes to supplies and 10 to shipping)
Harmonic Revelations 8,835 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 If you think the switch from higher prices to less commissions is worth it and will yield a higher profit, why not? If the commissions are really high quality I don't think people will mind paying a bit extra.
Friendship_Cannon 1,676 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 Exactly what Harmonic said, with the addition that you should add one or two pieces (earlier works) to your comission thread, it is always more appealing if people immediately see examples of what they will get. Other than that, go for it, and good luck. Signature made by the amazing ~Harmonic Dreams~ I always pictured you as a cross between Demoman and Pinkie Pie for some reason. Bohtty 1,775 September 5, 2013 Share September 5, 2013 I'll be honest, no. I do not think raising 15 - 30 is reasonable. If I had to be more honest I don't think 15$ is even worth it. If people pay for it though, then more power to you. Legit signature made by Shift.
MyLittleBrony 47 September 6, 2013 Share September 6, 2013 You're selling a service. Charge what satisfies your self-esteem in return for doing the work. Otherwise you will always feel ripped off. If you have a great service and people value it, you will have a market. And when people pay more, you can feel better about putting in more effort. Since you're serving fewer people, you can do that. There will always be people who think your price is "too high." They don't value what you do. And there will always be people who think what you offer is fair or even a steal at that price. They value your skill. These are the people you want as customers. 1 Tell me how a person judges his or her self-esteem, and I will tell you how that person operates at work, in love, in sex, in parenting, in every important aspect of existence - and how high he or she is likely to rise. The reputation you have with yourself - your self-esteem - is the single most important factor for a fulfilling life. ~Nathaniel Branden
