OkBuddy 586 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 So, have you heard any stories based off of actual events that leave you with a disturbed feeling after you've listened to them? Mine is the story of James Worson in An Unfinished Race: The story begins in 1873 as a shoemaker named James Worson took a bet under the influence of alcohol to run non-stop from Leamington Spa in England over to Coventry, a distance of about 9 miles. Along with a linen draper, a photographer, and the unnamed receiver of the bet, he started to run. As the draper and the photographer were following James in a wagon, something odd happened that would shock everyone. James mysteriously tripped over while running with a "ghastly scream" described by the 3 men in the wagon. Right when James was about to hit the ground, he vanished into thin air. Many consider the story to be true, even though the idea of a man vanishing into thin air is far-fetched. The story was soon to be published in Bierce's complete works. The author of that story would soon mysteriously die in 1913. I'm a Y2K Survivor™

DND 2,355 September 30, 2013 Share September 30, 2013 Ah, I would have to say Silent Hill. It wasn't exactly that scary, but it just disturbed me so much as a younger kid, and it still does today. I dunno, but something about a girl being burned alive so badly that her entire body was flayed to the point where she could not ever leave the hospital and die in that state due to superstition and a school teacher really got to me.
