This is the first brony forum I've ever joined. I just figured if I'm going to watch a show about unicorns and rainbows, I might as well enjoy it.

 

I guess the first thing I want to say is that I haven't really told anyone that I'm a brony yet ;P. My best friend goes on a anti-brony speech every time I mention it, so you can see why I'm a little shy about it.

 

Some of my hobbies include video games, (Big surprise...), messing around with 8-bit music, playing guitar, and riding my bike around the neighborhood. I've always wanted to be a video game designer, so I spend a lot of time messing around with modding video games and programming.

 

I started watching MLP in a pretty boring way ;P. I heard that bronies existed one day, so I decided I would see what the fuss was all about. So I picked up my phone watched the first episode on youtube. I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. I decided that I would try the episode after that and see if It swayed me, and it did. I watched episode after episode after episode until I finally admitted to myself I was a brony.

 

I thought I would try to see what my friends thought about bronies. I thought if they were relatively accepting about it then I would 'come out' and say I was one. I only had to say the word 'brony' when my friend explained how 'gay' and 'pedophilic' (is that a word?) it was. I pretty much sank into my shell at that point. It wasn't until my freshman year (this year) that my friends were actually exposed to bronies, and became slightly more accepting towards them. I think my friend knows I am... Who knows, I might tell everyone soon. I don't think I'll ever wear brony shirts, because i'm shy and junk ;P.

 

So yea, that's a bit of me. I'm a fourteen year old aspiring brony, and this is the first social brony experience I've really had. I hope it's a good one.

Welcome to the herd my friend. You sound like you had a very similar experience to mine.

I showed my buddy a parody, the Apple.MOV one, and he thought it was pretty funny, but then sort of asked me in a condescending tone if I was a brony. I really felt kind of set back that he'd act like that, but then I suppose I was similar before I tried it.

 

If you want friends to talk to about MLP, this is the place for you.

My little sister STILL gives me a hard time about being a brony, even though I've been an 'open' brony for years...its all outta love tho Collecting MLP stuff around my parents was hard a first, hiding em and all that...but eventually I just dug em out of the closet and made a big display atop my computer desk I think they still think I'm a psycho lol...w/e tho! A gamer, eh? There's an official Steam server for MLP Forums/Poniverse, if you use that. 

 

Hopefully over time your friends will soften up and you'll have the courage to tell them. From what you've written, seems like that day is not too far!
