Tips on Scripting? Please

So I am making a webcomic based on My Little Pony franchise for FUN

Emphasis on the fun part since I don't expected it to make me famous or something

That said it is a rather long story (why I decided to do that who cares) and I need a bit of help.

Dispite me doing It for fun, I still want it to be decent enough for others to read.

I have the idea of how the story is played. I have created my characters and settings. I have have created original characters and settings. I have even given backgrounds to my characters and settings.

The story still needs a bit of work, but progress is going great

Anyways where I need help on is scripting.

I have a general idea on how to do it, but I need help.

What I know is that a script will help me lay out how a scene will go and what will be said. It's pretty much important for writing a long story.

So anyways are there any tips you can give me on scripting or any help at all?

Well, I know how to write a script for other things like audio plays, animations and other things. But I've never done a comic before, though it shouldn't be too different.

I would suggest that to start off, literally go frame by frame when writing. With backstories and plot all in the back of your head so you don't write something that is totally random and not connected to the plot.

Make sure to add either a descriptive or a generalized description of each frame, so you know what's happening and if you leave it for the night or something. You can always go back to it and you know what's happening  in that frame.

Also add in any speech if you have any, if not then you should be alright. And also plan and organise the comic frames, but that depends on what you want your comic to look like.

If it's just one long line of frames then you should be good, though if you want it to look more like one of the good old comics you get at the shop . Just picturise where all the frames are going to go, what order you're going to be putting them into, the position and size and everything like that.

Also, make sure to list all the characters and such and all the different elements that you shouldn't forget. Again for if you go somewhere or go to sleep you'll know what's happening in your frames, or if your forgetful and you forget a character is in it because they haven't had any dialogue in a couple of frames.

I think I may try out doing a script for you as an example.

Tittle:

Characters:

Twilight (alicorn)

Applejack

Rarity

Fluttershy

What is it about?:

Twilight is hanging out with her friends on a picnic, and they suddenly started talking about Twilight’s new wings and such.

Frame 1

Description: Twilight is on the left, applejack in the middle right, rarity middle left, Fluttershy right. They are on a picnic blanket, sunny day, green fields all around, A tree can be seen in the distance, and there are no clouds.

Detail Description: Twilight is sipping on a cup of tea with her wings closed. Applejack is eating some pie, while rarity is sipping her tea elegantly, and fluttershy is sitting there waiting for the others to talk to her. They all, except for Fluttershy, are talking small chat while they eat their lunch. A teapot is in the middle of the circle of friends, with an assortment of cakes, pies and other edible things on the picnic rug.

I don't usually do comics, but I sure if you do something similar like that you should be fine. Though mine had no exposition  or plot to it, and it was only one frame. I'm sure if you have those things then it should be easier, and will probably be quicker to write as well.

Hopefully that should help, though any questions please do ask.

Scripting? I'll do it! I've been writing comic, and school-play type scripts for years so this comes almost naturally to me. Now, I'll admit beforehand that I have a hard time explaining things like this to people who have trouble comprehending it so if you'd like, I could do scripting for you rather than telling you how I think you should have it play out.

Thank you for providing service. :)

I still need to get the story in order, but progress is being made.

I probably won't ask for yor services yet, but at least I can ask you some questions if you don't mind.

How much information do you think you will need for providing a script?

I know you will need some background information and characters and the plot and events that will happen in a scene.

I mean I still want to have to story play out like I want it to (but always willing to accept suggestions if they make the story better) and still have some scenes play out in some ways.

Sorry I am new to this and am learning on my own so I still have a lot to learn.

Also I don't know if you have projects of your own that you are doing and don't want to spend much of your time.

It is a long story and I aprechate the help I can get.

The general information that you listed will be enough, and I may ask for additional information only when necessary. Most of this will play out as you intend to do, and I will make amendments as necessary.

I have a lot of spare time, so I'll either be here or on my deviantart page.
