*Spoilers* Nightmare Rainboom? Rainbows?

During the flash back, Twilight saw how Nightmare moon was sent to the moon. When Celestia did, it made a Sonic Rainboom or looked like it.

 

 What are your thoughts about this? 

 

Also, there is always this rainbow helix thing when the Elements of harmony are united and used. It was also in Equestria Girls, What do you think of this? I think this is over used but that's just me

It did look like a Sonic Rainboom but, it is probably all of the Elements combined to make the rainbow. Not really a Sonic Rainboom, more of an ability when the Elements of Harmony are in unison.

I would like to see a different animation for the Elements of Harmony, I think it's a bit cheesy and getting old. But I do have to keep in mind the target audience

Looked to be a elements in unison sort of thing. But I wonder why, at the end of The Return of Harmony Part Two when they used the elements to turn Discord into a statue did the rainbow helix thing turned into a magic dome that closed over Ponyville?
