Game Twinkle 43 January 15, 2014 Share January 15, 2014 I made this OC character of myself and I couldn't be happier how it came out. I have never drawn a pony before and I made this last night. I am currently drawing it out in Gimp and want to make a signature with it. Her cutie mark is actually one of my tattoos.
Jamesblorg39welsh 125 January 16, 2014 Share January 16, 2014 How is this your fist drawing? Mine was a potatoes with legs 1 "If you feel the need to treat me like garbage, I'll feel the need to throw you into the back of a compressing garbage truck." "I'd rather "go to hell" for hugging a guy I like then makeout in heaven with a girl I don't." SolarPrism 27 January 16, 2014 Share January 16, 2014 Wow for a first pony drawing that is really good. Nice job I like the coloring as well.
SkyBound 829 January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 This is quite good for a first attempt at drawing ponies; the colors seem well chosen and the overall design is simple yet effective. The only thing I would mention for future consideration is the general anatomy. The hindlegs are rather thin where it meets the body and the proportions seem off in general. Though these are cartoons, they still follow basic equine anatomy and there are a plethora of references that could help you with this. You have every right to feel proud with this drawing, as you did do a great job with it and all you need are some minor adjustments for the future. Best of luck to you and I hope to see more from you soon! 1 Deviantart Tumblr
Game Twinkle 43 January 17, 2014 Author Share January 17, 2014 Thank you all for the very nice things. Yeah I think by the time I got to the hind legs I got tired of erasing and redrawing lol. I really want to work at it though. And next time I am going to take my time with the legs.
Guest January 17, 2014 Share January 17, 2014 You said you were re-drawing it in GIMP, correct? Would you by chance be using a drawing tablet?
Game Twinkle 43 January 17, 2014 Author Share January 17, 2014 Nope just my mouse sadly so it isn't gonna look awesome digitally drawn either lol. However I do need the practice on using GIMP and this is great practice too.

I can completely relate to that, as I get to points where I feel as though I am erasing a hole through the paper. It simply takes time and practice to get such things correct and I have no doubt that you will be able to improve upon it. If you need any help or any such assistance, feel free to ask me. Ironic because the wicked expensive programs are generally not used for much of the art community for illustration.

I totally will when the time comes thank you!! I haven't invested all that much in drawing to be honest. I do paint though. I draw here and there when I get the urge, but I mostly spend my time gaming or reading.
