A.K.A. trial-and-error adapting him into my style and/or pimping him out a bit.  I'd always thought he'd look better with underbelly scales and more colours.

 

And, of course, without fail, I always mix up which side his horns are on.  Oh well.

@, I love the way you've drawn him, but he looks... darker... than usual.

 

I think the bottom left inked one is the best. He looks sinister and doesn't have any of the underscales. Personally, I think that they detract to his appearance considering that his head/top limb is a donkey, and donkey's don't have scales.

 

I have no idea why... but why is it that I think that he's playing dress up to turn into this evil genius?     

 

Although I don't especially like the picture, it was drawn beautifully. Nice job!

Bottom right would be my favourite.

PS: Reminds me a bit of The Last Unicorn (in a very good way)
