"Agreed." Seth said as he moved towards the door. "I say we go tot he blues and see if we can find better comp-"

 

"Now where in sam hell are you going?" Sarge said, pointing his gun at Seth's face. "The horse can go, but you are our dog. you are staying with us."

 

"Sarge, aren't you wandering why they can talk and interact with us?" Simmons asked.

 

"Not in the slightest." the gunmen said before kicking Grif's leg. "Grif, get up and make a pen for the team dog."

 

"Just get one from the paperwork desk. We have plenty of pens." Grif moaned. 

 

Sarge pumped his gun again and Grif was running down a hallway and into a room before anyone could say grifball.

'Im not a fucking h-...you know what, I don't even care.' Night Comb said. He really was dealing with idiots. He turned to the maroon colored one.

 

'Are you Simmons? If so, that's good. I'm glad someone here has a brain. Please convince that idiot to let Seth go.' Night Comb asked.

'Thank you,' Seth mouthed, still at the receiving end of the gun.

 

"Sir, if anything we should keep them both. They are talking animals. Think about it. They are already smarter than Grif-"

 

"Son, that doesn't take much" Sarge replied.

 

"We train them, give them armor, add a gun, and boom. We outnumber the blues 7-3... unless you count the tank as a blue." Simmons replied

 

"You backstabbing triter." Said Seth.

 

"Oh come on. You are a talking wolf! How cool is that?" Simmons exclaimed.

 

"Not vere cool" Grif called from a random room.

Night Comb let out a loud, frustrated sigh.

 

'I am seriously getting fed up with this. Can you just let us go already?' He said. He remembers he still had the gun from earlier. He motioned for Seth to grab it off his back as he distracted the reds.

 

'Seriously. We are talking animals from a magic land. We aren't soldiers...'

Seth took notice of the gun and smiled. With a single movement, he grabbed the gun, shot the Sargent in the foot, and jumped on his back to put him into a headlock with the gun.

 

"And that was for holding me at gunpoint." Seth yelled. Sarge drooped the shotgun, gripping his neck, while Simmons brought his gun up to Seth then to Night.

 

"Let go of the Sargent!' Simmons ordered.

 

"Come on Simmons, I have heard better demands from questions." Sarge yelled back.

Night Comb stared at Simmons.

 

'Hey, I wonder if we give Simmons some fur and claws if he's become a wolf. We'd be evenly matched then.' He jabbed, mocking what Simmons had said earlier. Grif had probably fallen asleep.

 

Suddenly, Night Comb heard a large boom. The words 'Save Rover!' Echoed through the canyon.

 

'Not this...'

Seth looked up from Sarge's neck.

 

"that sounds like... a 50mm cannon." Seth said, letting go of the being. Sarge fell to the floor, gasping for air.

 

Hearing another blast, he stood right back up, shotgun in hand. "Simmons, get the rocket launcher. Grif...Grif where are you? Never mind. Wolf, you seem to have military training.

 

"Yes sir." Seth said, still gripping the DMR under my paw.

 

"Get up to the top of the base and provide cover fire for Simmons. Horse, you fallow the wolf. there should be guns up top for you. Welcome to red te-" Sarge was interrupted by another blast, this one rocking the base.

 

"Caboose! If we are going to save that damn dog of yours, you need to make sure it stays alive." Church yelled

 

"What he means Caboose it that you should help the wolf"

 

"Ok!"

 

Another blast breaks apart the wall right next to Seth, revealing a large vehicle that resembled a scorpion.

Night Comb looked at the large scorpion. He could hear Simmons behind him.

 

'We had a fucking tank? Where was this?!'

 

He looked over to Seth and ran ahead. He jumped onto it and slid into a small machine gun at the front, awkwardly fitting in. Definitely made for the biped creatures. He could see Chrurch and Tucker sitting outside a similar tank. Caboose was likely in that same tank.

"We got the tank last airdrop." Sarge called.

 

Seth ran to the tank and joined his fellow equestrian. He climbed into the cabin of the tank and primed the engine. After the tank started up, he heard a voice.

 

"Hello and welcome to the M808B Main battle tank. You may call me Filis." a robotic voice said.

 

"Ok, so which ones do we shoot?" Seth called to his gunner friend.

'Sarge, we don't even get airdrops!'

 

Night Comb shrugged. 'Well, shoot the blues first!' He called as he saw Sarge pump his shotgun.

 

'You dirty blue traitors, you disobeyed your commanding officer! Ill kill you! Simmons! Get Grif so I can blame him!' Sarge called as he aimed his gun at the large tank. Simmons disappeared to go find Grif.

"Ok," Seth replied, finding the movement controls and firing system. "Wait, why are there six pedals if there are fore treads?" The wolf asked, pressing them randomly. He managed to get the tank moving towards the enemy armor.

 

"Oh, Rover? Bad Rover! No driving tanks" Caboose called as the tank approached the blues.

 

Still pressing random buttons, Seth heard another announcement from Filis "Auto-lock engaged. Target acquired. Target lock." 

 

"Night, prep for a blast." Seth yelled

 

"Firing main cannon"

 

A blast arced towards the blue tank, striking it's side. Both Church and Tucker were flown a few feet away, but Caboose seem relativity fine.

Night Comb heard the gun fire and he heard a ringing. He saw two blues fly and Caboose call out. He laughed.

 

'Fire again!' He called.

 

 

 

Sarge hit Grif with his shotgun. 'If you were defending our tank those damn blues wouldn't have taken it!' He said angrily. Grif looked up at the angry red. 'Wait, we had a fucking tank?'

"We are nether reds or blues! We are not even from your- You know what. Fuck this. Night get that chain gun and mow anything down that moves." Seth called out, pressing the trigger of the tank.

 

"Firing main cannon. Firing main cannon. Firing main cannon." Filis called before every shot.

Night Comb swung the gun around and pressed the button. The continuous fire sprayed the blue tank.

 

'Rover! No shooting!' Caboose called. He fired the blue tank's gun at the base again.

 

Sarge looked at the orange team member when Doughnut came out.

 

'Hey everyone! What's going on in here?' He asked happily. Sarge raised his shotgun.

Seth kept lobbing rounds at the tank until the turret of the blue armor was completely obliterated. Seeing as Caboose somehow survived the blasts, the wolf jumped out of the canape. "Ok, now that we are done shooting each other, maybe we can get some answers."

 

"You fucking shot us, you fucking wolf!" Tucker yelled as he stood up.

 

Seth picked up his DMR and shot a round at the same place he punched earlier. "Ok, let's talk."

Night Comb hopped out along with Seth. Church looked between all of them, and red team emerged from their base.

 

'Ok, who's dog is this really? And why is there a horse here?' Church asked to the group.

 

'Oh, oh! It's Rover and...uh...' Caboose said, trying to think of a name for Night Comb.

 

'I think it's a wolf.' Simmons said. He was silenced by Grif. 'Shut up Simmons.'

"Grif! Wolves are real. They have sharp fangs and are nature's killing machine. Their like the warthogs with fur." Sagre yelled.

 

"Told you" Simmons chimed in

 

"My fuckbarries..." Tucker moaned

 

"Ok can we just sort all this out. I rather not have to deal with all of this if Tex figures out we broke the tank again. So let's just hurry up and get this over with. Who and what are you things" Church asked.

 

"Well, I'm an alpha greywolf." Seth said, then motioned to Night.

Night Wolf glared at them and sighed. 'Im a Pegasus. I'm going to assume nobody knows what they are.'

 

'Actually,' Simmons replied, 'I do. They were mythological fl-'

 

'Damn it Simmons, stop spreading your false religion! Shotgunism is the true way!' Sarge scolded.

 

'Oh god, he's doing it again.' Grif sighed as Sarge began to ramble on about Shotgunism

Seeing how he and Night were being ignored again, he climbed back into the canopy of the the tank and launched a shell at the mountainside.

 

"What the fuck?" Everyone yelled.

 

"Ok, now that we have your attention, why do you assume that I am your pet?" Seth asked the reds. "And how did I get here?"

Night Comb spoke up as well. 'Why are we here?' He asked looking around.

 

'Its one of life's gre-' Tucker began before being shut up by Church.

 

'I don't know why you are here, but this is a box canyon with two bases. Reds are idiots, Blues are slightly less idiotic.' He said looking at the two teams. 'Then there is Tex, Doughnut, and Doc. They are pretty much neutral, but Tex and Doughnut stay with one team.'

"Thanks, we already got that." Seth said, starting to get ticked. "So how did you know you were getting a dog if you don't know how I got here? Also, like Simmons said, I am not a dog. Pure wolf. No dog in my blood."

 

"But wolves a scary." Caboose protested.
 

"Shut up! Let's just figure this out." Church called out.

Sarge spoke up. 'The Shotgun gods talked to me in my sleep. They told me we would revive divine help. You are here to help...' He began again.

 

Church shook his head. 'Heres what actually happened. You landed, or appeared, right outside our base. Caboose freaked out and showed us the two of you. A few minutes later, you woke up. That's all we know.' He examined. Tucker nodded.

 

'Yeah. Your lucky my kid didn't eat you. Or Tex. I think she eats people.'

"We were to be blessed with a being that would put an end to all blues and freelances alike. It was to take the form of a fore legged creature with the power to decimate armies with one step." Sarge explained.

 

Seth began to ignore Sarge and focused on one detail that came up. "Who is this "Tex guy you keep bringing up?" he asked.

 

Tucker began to laugh from what Seth said. "Ha! See, everyone thinks Tex is a dude."

Church made a fake laugh. 'Tex is my ex girlfriend. She's crazy. And a freelancer.' He replied. 'She would steal my money and sleep with other men while we were dating. Great character.' He added. He sighed and looked around. 'Shell probably kill is all in our sleep, so watch for her.'

'ok, one more crazys to look out for.' Seth thought.

 

"Anyone else we should look out for?" He asked.

 

"Well, there's Lopez." Simmons added.

 

"Who"

 

"Hola" a brown armored biped called from the base.

 

"Ya, he only speaks Spanish" Simmons added again.

 

"Ok then. So you just found us near your base. Exactly why are you fighting each other again? Like Grif said, your in a box canyon. IF one of you moves out, then the other army has two bases in a box canyon. What's the point in that?"
