So what do you think Discord's role will be in the Season 4 finale?

All we know (or at least all I know) of the Season 4 finale is that Discord plays a part in the attempt to solve the problem, and that evidently this fails (as Twilight has to take desperate measures to save Equestria.)

 

This has me intrigued as to what will happen involving him.

 

 

My most desired potential plot is that the villain introduced to create this problem is actually powerful and awesome enough enough to defeat Discord, who is essentially a Pagan-esque god with the power to make physics his slave, and we get to see this battle occur. Assuming Discord actually tries to win--because, based off of past events, he probably won't, so this will probably have to be accomplished by the new villain angering Discord--that would be an amazing fight with a lot of potential for this new villain.

 

Another probable and considerably more disappointing plot involves Discord not actually caring about solving the problem to begin with and letting it escalate to the point of requiring desperate measure through general laziness/IDGAFing.

 

Discord could actually try to solve the problem, encounter the villain, decide he likes them, and decide to defect from Canterlot for laughs/rule of a chaotic plane of existence again.

 

There could not be a new villain at all (another very disappointing potential plotline) and we could have a repeat of the Season 4 premiere plotline.

 

 

Again, I'd really like to see my first suggestion. What do you guys think?

I think Discord wild be brainwashed or blackmailed by the new bad guy to do his bidding

I think Discord's role in the season finale will have him encounter the villain and defeat him, but before his/her meets their demise, they will try to convince Discord to sway away from his intentions to join them instead and go off to spread mayhem.
