The Old Fighter [OC WIP]

It isn't often I get to draw heftier ponies, most of my male ocs are rather lanky XD
I do enjoy this guys design though and hope perhaps I get to adopt him, a good exercise for me either way.
I think I am slowly but surely getting better at feather wings as well, the build I understand but the feathers

are always trouble. Even with a many great tutorials I think I just need to force myself to draw them more.

Wings are always a nightmare for me, as sometimes my mind cannot wrap around how the hold, bend and look from differing angles and perspectives.  Ah, but that is what practice is for.

 

Anyway, I think you did a fine job with this one as he does have the look of having a bulkier physique with the wings turning out nicely.  The one thing I do slightly different as far as wings is placement is I tend to place them slightly behind the shoulder blade.  But that is merely a personal preference, as the way you have it works just as well if not better.  

 

The scars are also a nice touch in my eye and it generates a little intrigue about this character's back story.  I wish there was more to say on this one, but my mind is drawing a big blank at the moment.  Nevertheless, wonderful job again.

The story I gave to the person giving out the design was fun, he was the pony equivalent of a bare-knuckle fight at one time.

Something that was an old Earth Pony sport that he learned, and for years bound his wings for so he doesn't fly much anymore.

Anyway, it looks pretty cool. 

 

You've got a nicely unique style going on there as well.

Well, the morning I looked over that picture and realized his raised leg looked like a rubber hose.
So I fixed it and now think it looks like it has more strength and would be the same length as the other legs cx
