I grumbled to myself as an uncomfortably bright light beamed onto my eyelids. Rolling in my bed, I was welcomed by a surprise wing cramp. The type of wing cramp that forced me into buying an outrageously expensive bed. Only this was not my bed, and this was not my pillow. Nor had I been woken by the sun through my window. But what I found most startling, I was not alone.
I had not yet bothered to look, but at least two others were exchanging words. Both female, and they did not sound very happy to see one another. I sat up in my bed, a sudden knee-pop sent a brief shock of pain up my leg, but quickly subsided. The two voices I heard were surprisingly close, one of which seemed normal, but the other was a foreign creature beyond anything I has seen before. She was a pale and fleshy beast, choosing to stand on two legs, with strange feeler-like appendages poking out of its hooves. I did not like the way it was talking to a fellow pony, it was time for me to intervene.
I hauled myself out bed, stomping a hoof on the floor and standing tall against this creature. She looked intimidating, but fragile. "No, buddy." I said, looking to my fellow ponies. "What the hell are you?"
