A Journey Through the History of Evilshy's Musical Tastes (warning: 12,400+ character post)

I have developed pretty diverse musical tastes; indeed, I find it difficult to pin down what I like and what I don't, since I can honestly enjoy just about anything, and there are a very wide variety of things that make a song appealing to me. I was in the ITT: name all the genres you like thread, and I found myself posting almost every widely known genre (and a few lesser known ones). As it turns out, if you took a list of all the genres I know of, it;d be much easier to compile a list of ones

So you think you're in a one-sided relationship? You think you're being used?

Screw it, this was a thread I made, but I think it'd make a better blog post. So it will become one. The original is chilling in General Discussion over here.   So there's this kind of deepsea Anglerfish called Haplophryne mollis, or the Soft Leafvent Angler.   If you don't know what anglerfish are, here's some general info in the spoiler:       So anyway, this species, Haplophryne mollis has a pretty major problem; they're aren't any mates around. These fish are fairly rare, and they l

Roommate Prediction Results

Original predictions in my last blog post, now copy/pasted to this spoiler for convenience:             I was almost completely right. The douchebag isn't as doughey as I thought he'd be, which is good. He also doesn't seem to want to eat anybody elses food, but that may be because he brought like twice as much food as anybody else, and has a meal plan so he eats in the cafeteria. He shares Mountain Dew, which is pretty cool.   There is a nerd, but not as nerdy as I am. He likes Star W

Well, it's been good here, but I think it's time I left.

Left for college, that is. Don't go thinking you can get rid of me that easily   Anyway, I'm off to Idaho today, to attend BYUI. And one of the first thing I'm going to do when I get there is post whether or not my roommate predictions are correct.   The dorm is more of a 2 bedroom apartment, and there are 3 other guys living with me. My predictions: One will be a few ticks short of your typical douchebag, referring to people as "bro", talking about sports and cars all the time, listening

Found something funny while going through my old "Intro to Programming" homework

It seems to be in Python.   def main(): import time print("This little program here will convert miles into kilometers, for all you British types!") miles=eval(input("Enter the jolly old amount miles, chap! ")) print("Oh good! Now I'll just pop off and crunch the bleeding numbers, eh wot!") kilo=miles*0.62 time.sleep(4) print("Here we are, old chap!", miles, "miles is", kilo, "kilometers! Cheerio!")   main()     I also remember making a program that asks complicated math questions

Winnie the Pooh Taken into Protective Custody Following Misidentification Mix-up

Winnie the Pooh, famous for his part in his titular series, was taken into protective custody after mistaking Christopher Hanson for Christopher Robin.   "This little, innocent bear came up to me and started asking if I had his honey," Hanson told reporters. "He thought I was someone else. It was instantly clear to me that he was being taken advantage of."   Upon questioning, Winnie said he was looking for someone named "Christopher Robin." He had apparently been receiving honey and other go

I Massacred an Entire Alien City Today

The planet was surprising close, practically a walk down the galactic street. When I arrived, I saw many amazing things. Almost everything was alive, from the buildings to parts of the every ground I stood on. Many of the aliens were mostly stationary, moving slightly every now and then, but if they were doing anything else, my human eyes were blind to it. Some inhabitants, however, moved quickly, leaping from place to place at speeds that were sometime difficult to track. The whole time, none

Criminals and Law Enforcment "Shocked" when Batman Kills Bank Robbers

People on both sides of the law were "shocked" when Batman killed two men who were robbing a bank in east Gotham. The robbery commenced when three men wearing masks entered with automatic weapons and demanded money. They were interrupted by none other than Batman, the elusive and enigmatic vigilante. What happened next is best described by the surviving robber, who speaks from custody. "We were just robbing the place when the goddamn batman comes in! We were thinkin', hey, he only works at nig

There's a Micro-Climate in my Pants

I see that i've caught your attention. First off, no, this is not some innuendo-ridden post vaguely implying how awesome it'd be to get in my pants. But you know you want to.   I have a pair of pants that literally creates its own micro-climate. It's strange, I can wear them inside, and they feel like normal pants. Even better actually, since the material is so light and flexible, and they keep my legs and whatnot at a comfortable room temperature. When I go outside, no matter how hot or cold
