With the season 5 hiatus finally coming to an end tomorrow, I figure I might as well take the time to point out a few things that I think the season has done right thus far.
1. Returning Pinkie Pie's consistency
One of my most common complaints about the show since about season 3 is that Pinkie is barely written with any consistency anymore. In the first season, Pinkie was random and hyperactive, yet she still maintained a method to her madness. But this has gradually lessened
So there's this frozen yogurt shop that I live about ten minutes away from, and I've gone there several times. Each time I walk in the door, I follow a simple procedure: I go in and I pick up a Styrofoam bowl, which are all the same "medium-ish" size (there are no "small" or "large" sizes). Then I go to one the six dispensers and pick the flavor I desire, which often varies for me. The flavors they have include Non-fat Vanilla and Chocolate, Strawberry, and Butterscotch.

Ah, Twilicorn. Nothing ever shook this fandom up quite like giving Twilight Sparkle a pair of wings, a longer horn, and a slightly taller body type.
Or at least that's what I've been led to believe.
I actually didn't join the fandom until around April 2013—after season 3 had already ended. While all the anti-Twilicorn flame wars were raging all over the net, I was just starting to get to know Twilight and all the mane six as I watched through the first season with a fair bit of skepticis
