I myself am not the biggest fan of grimdark but hey y'know, I'm not gonna go around and yell at you for liking it. Y'know, you can like what you like, if it doesn't bother me, it really shouldn't bother anyone else just for liking it.

Unless the person who likes grimdark shoves it into other people's faces who say they don't wanna hear about it then that person kind of deserves it.

I just casually say I like grimdark if horror, creepypasta, scary stories, etc is mentioned because it is in the general topic. Then someone decides a tangent is needed. Thanks for you opinion on the matter and it is appreciated to know that there are others who let others like what they want. I know ponies like that are around but they seem like a rarity sometimes.  

After reading that, you could really even argue that your enjoyment comes from NOT liking ponies getting disemboweled/gore/etc., but the fear and adrenaline that comes as a result of being exposed to something that you don't really "enjoy".

Indeed. Honestly watching them get disemboweled and ripped apart really doesn't make me go OH YES THAT IS AMAZING! MORE! No. It's welcome if it adds to the story,setting, and atmosphere but that alone doesn't do anything for me.

Well, im not really a fan of pony-grimdark even though im a huge fan of Warhammer, for example. But i won't heckle people because they like it.

You are indeed right that something dosen't have to be a gorefest to be grimdark but I myself don't particularly mind blood and guts but do for the most get bored if it is there just to be there with fics like Cupcakes where it is so ridiculously over the top that it is funny being the exceptions. If Edgar Allen Poe was alive today his stories would be called grimdark or creepypasts even though the gore levels are fairly tame, yet were still great stories that built the right amount of fear and suspense by getting right into your head.

Gosh if Edgar Allen Poe was still alive that would be wonderful... then again he would be super old so ehhh poor guy. Lol but I see what you're saying. I agree that the gore and blood can be welcomed. Now about the blood being over the top and it being boring or funny I can agree but I would like to use that to say something really quick. I think when people see Cupcakes HD, read Cupcakes, or watch Smile HD and just that they decide when you like grimdark you are liking the ponies getting shredded into cupcakes or betting bashed to death (though I did like the idea of a Super Saiyan Pinkie Pie going at it with a Super Saiyan Fluttershy..) It is nice to see someone who has similar views on grimdark

I actually like the occasional grimdark fanfic, but I don't get bothered easily at all. I'm probably a bad person for this, but I laughed during the infamous,gory, grimdark fanfic(they aren't one in the same, as you said) named Sweet Apple Massacre. 

I didn't laugh at the content itself, but rather that somebody took time to put together such a putrid, disturbing abomination of My Little Pony. I kept laughing and saying to myself "Why the hell am I reading this shit!? Who wrote this!?" 

But yea, grimdarks aren't bad by any means.
