blog-0699427001409794334.pngThe Pokémon Trading Card Game is certainly an underrated gem of the Pokémon franchise. Not many pay attention to it, or really understand how the game works. Chances are, if you were young around the time the original Red and Blue were released, and loved the games, you may have collected some of the original cards from Base set (Very first set of cards released). But also, chances are you may have not understood how the game worked or was played. For years I did not understand how the game worked, my brother had hundreds upon hundreds of cards, but we didn't know what to do with them! It wasn't until recently, about a year ago, I finally understood how the game worked, and how relatively simple, yet complex the game is. It is similar to the video game, but also very different. In the video game, it is all about the stats of the Pokémon and the move sets the trainers decided were best for strategy. However, in the Trading Card Game, it's all about what cards the trainers decided to put into their standard 60 card deck, and a very big game of chance, consisting of coin flips and card draws. The winning requirements are surprisingly similar: Video Game- Knock out all 6 Pokémon or until the opponent has no more healthy Pokémon to battle with; Trading Card Game- Collect all 6 prize cards (Received by knocking out opponents Pokémon) or until the opposing player has no playable Pokémon. The Trading Card Game is certainly a ton of fun and easy to pick up and learn. If you are a fan of the series and like Trading Card Games in general, or want to start playing one, I highly recommend it.
