Gypsy served King Sombra for a time, assisting in the rebirth of The Crystal Empire. He briefly allowed his sister to guard the book and use The Book of Manifestation. She proceeded to wreak havoc among the citizens of Ponyville\. It had begun to possess her and caused her to do bad and mean things. Eventually his conscience overcame him and he reversed the spell that held his sister. Gypsy sealed The Book away; back in the remains of the Two Royal Sistar's Castle. His pheonix, Zipp, guards the ancient relic to this day.

Gypsy is now employed at the bookshop, and helps run the local library in Ponyville.
