Shipping Community: Do Shippers Destroy Lives?
Third day here and not leaving anytime soon! I was generally surprised by the positive feedback I received on my last post. It makes my day to know that so many people care about my opinion, and are willing to accept it. It is people like you that encourage me to write these Blogs daily. Unfortunatley, I know I am not going to make friends with this post. So I will choose my words very carefully, and hopefully wont offend anypony. Ok, and without further a do, ladies and gentlecolts, grab yourselves a cup of Joe and some Hostess Ding Dongs, because this is going to be a wild ride as we discuss the Shipping Community.
Before I truly begin, I want to say that I have no personal vendetta against the shipping community. In fact, I really have no problem with them, for the most part. However, despite my bias, I still need to call the shipping community out on some..... problems. Throughout this episode, i am going to quote the episode "Hearts and Hoofs Day", as well as the Equestria Girls movie('s). So guys, last warning, be prepared.
For those who dont know what the shipping community is, they are people who pair different characters from a series and make them romantically involved. Shipper can mostly be found on Fim/fanfiction sites and whatnot. An example of a shipping would be, for example, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwhich, or Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase (Percy Jackson books). Shipping doesnt have to be canon, and the shipper can go anywhere with his shipping. So, no problems so far, right?
In the MLP episode, "Hearts and Hooves Day", the Cutie Mark Crusaders attempt to matchmake their teacher, Ms. Cherilee, with Appleblooms brother, Big Mac. When that doesnt work out, the CMC create a love potion to force the two together, because the CMC believed that they were "perfect" for one another. However, the potion turned out to be a poison, and the CMC raced against the clock to undo there mistakes. In the end, they learn the moral that it is not good to force two ponies to be together, even with the excuse that they are perfect for one another. Kind of a strange moral to give little girls, right? When would they ever apply that to their lives?
I am going to agree with Voice of Reason on this one, and say that this episode was more intended for the Brony community then anything. Especially to shippers. You cant simply put two ponies together on the excuse that they are perfect for each other. An interesting moral, and one of the reasons why I believe some people dislike this episode. However, this isnt the real reason why shipping is bad.
In Equestria Girls, we were introduced to a new character, as well as a possible romantic link for Twilight Sparkle. The infamous Flash Sentry. Why infamous? Because at the first sight of a possible relationship between him and Twilight, the fandom exploded. All out fallout ensued as people screamed at DHX and Hasbro as to why they put Flash Sentry into Equestria Girls, as well as following episodes. One of the main reasons (Not the only reason, but I digress) that people hate Flash is because of the romantic relationship. Twilight Shippers especially got pissed. This made there fanfictions wrong. This "Flash Sentry" got in the way of the lesbian pairings with Twilight and Rainbow Dash! Gasp!
Flash Sentry has introduced one of the main reasons why shipping is destroying lives. Because of these fan shippings, this doesnt allow the show that created these character we love a chance to romantically develop. Shippers have created so many fantasies that it is not leaving the show itself a lot of leg room. (SPOILERS) It has already been confirmed that Pinkie will get a colt friend by the end of Season 5, and quite possibly the rest of the mane 6.
So, at the end of it all, do shippers truly destroy lives? Post in the comments about what your opinions are! Each comment you post feeds this cat a watermelon.

Dont starve this poor kitten! Give it what it wants. Comment, and this cat will use the watermelon for the betterment of society. But anyway, thank you guys for reading! Again, comment if you want me to review a show episode, fan-animation, fanfiction, or whatever. Give me something to work with, people! If you havn't read any of my previous blog posts, then go and check them out! That is all I have you you guys right now. Again, thanks for reading, and see you tomorrow for my next blog!
