Innovations: OC Transpo utilizes the Hub and Spoke application of mass transit coupled to fixed routes. This means its emphasis is more on connection between two parts of the city rather than longer traditional routes which tend to be slower. The Hubs often link to OC Transpo's 5 mile (8 km) light rail service known as the O-Train. Expansion of the light rail service is already underway with the Confederation Line which will be completed in 2017
