1934 US 20 dollar bill

While I was looking for my mom's social security card, since the AT&T representative I was on the phone with wanted the account holder's social, I stumbled upon this 20 dollar bill.

It looked old since it doesn't look like our current one's, so I wanted to know what year it was from, and to my surprise, it was made in 1934.

This bill has been through a ton of history. It's been through The Great Depression, World War II (this probably could have been in the pocket of a WWII veteran) The Cold War, The Korean and Vietnam War, even the recent history like the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and the inauguration of our first black US President.

This thing has to worth something when it becomes 100 in the next 19 years.

I've always been intrigued by the history of our currency as a coin and bill collector myself. My dad recently got in change a $10-bill also from 1934 (the images are from my cell phone and appeared huge when I uploaded them. That's why they're linked):

And just the other day, I stumbled upon a Series 1950 A $10-bill which is in surprisingly good condition in spite of its age:

A 20 becoming 100. That's inflation for ya.

What I meant was that it would be 100 years old in 19 years.

That's pretty awesome. My dad has a couple of pennies that are made of steel during the time of WWII since copper was used ammunition.
