Manufacturer and Powerplant: The majority of Air Canada's fleet consist of wide body aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. Older Embraer will be decomissioned by the end of 2015. Air Canada's short range flights were typically handled by smaller aircraft produced by defunct manufacturers such as McDonnell Douglas and Lockheed. Air Canada procures smaller aircraft from its domestic supplier Bombardier.

Innovations: Air Canada began tapping into the American market by offering American passengers flights to European cities which do not have direct connections from the United States by offering American passengers a quick layover in Canada before proceeding to Europe. This has boosted revenue for Air Canada greatly.

When people hear the term "mass transportation", they usually think of buses and trains.  But planes are definitely a form of mass transit as well.  Nice to see a piece on an airline.  :)
