Posting Boards, Mods, and a little history OH MY!

Well since this is my first blog entry i'd like to say thanks for the warm welcome to this great place. I have not regretted joining. I've already met quite a wonderful ponies here and i'm no newbie to posting boards. so for really the first time i feel welcomed here.

 

The first posting board I joined was one for Buffy the vampire Slayer way back when. it was a rather large board created by the TV station on which it aired. (warner brothers) And then when the show ended its run there the majority of people scattered. I had then joined a posting board for bleach. that's where I ran into problems. Where some power hungry mods decided to abuse their mod powers and surpress some of our shipping going on in another thread. It escalated into a war in which all our posts pleading with mods to see our point of view were not only ignored but deleated. After that everyone invovled in that scattered as well. I scattered as well. Now I find myself here.

 

And for the first time I see A place where all ponies are accepted no matter what. A place where you lean on each other. and it's a fantastic thing to see. and I could not be happier to be in a place such as this.

I can identify greatly with asshole moderators and administrators who shouldn't have power in the first place, unfortunately. The last forum I was on before this one was exactly like that. But alas, I'm glad an 'orphaned user' so to speak has found this place ^^ I can say from the vantage point of a member that the community here is friendly as well as active, and from a staff's point of view, that each and every moderator Feld0 and his cronies have chosen are friendly and fit for the job.

Same thing happened to me. I joined a forum (of which the name I cannot disclose) and I was not appreciated only because of my age. The mods were extremely biased and abusive. And then I found MLP forums. Gave me my spurs back. Interesting how there is someone here I can relate to. Anyways,I'm happy for your fortunate encounter with MLP forums.

Ahahaha, another newbie falls into the trap! Just as planned.

 

It's a great site, definitely. In the short time I've been around here (along with the time I lurked before joining), I've seen an astonishingly low number of trolls. It's pretty amazing, considering the popularity of the site and the amount of hate that MLP gets.

i can asure you there can be the occasional plot-hole on the forums, but the mods on here are absolutely perfect for what they have been chosen to do.

I can count on one hand the number of members here that I thoroughly dislike. Out of a crowd of several thousand active members, that's pretty good. Granted I haven't talked to every single one of them, but I've talked to enough to know what the rules and exceptions are as far as most people's behavior is concerned.

 

Your story bears some similarities to my own, and my reasons for staying here are the same. Glad to have you around.
