Near Misses and Sitting Lyra
I'm tired and stuff, so this is gonna be fairly short.
Remember my blog post a couple of weeks ago about Sitting Lyra? Well, I managed to get my first picture today. It...didn't look as well as I had hoped. But! I will continue carrying my little cut-out Lyra around town and finding spots to have her...uh...sit.
So today was the check-in and packet pickup for Nationals. Right next to the check-in room was another conference room dedicated to USA Track and Field gear. While in line for the main attraction (custom made shirts, sweatshirts, etc), the girl in front of me kept giving me sidelong looks and smiling. Her dad would whisper something to her, then turn around and kind of smile at me. And I was all "dahell is going on?" I would actually run into her again later that night at dinner, but that is beside the point.
After getting my custom sweatshirt, I went over to the USATF side of the room and started looking at awesome runner's swag. My mom saw a red, white, and blue jacket that was my size, and she implored me to try it on. I had my sweatshirt halfway off before I remembered which shirt I was wearing: my new aqua blue sitting Lyra shirt.
Well then.
So I spun around to face the wall, nearly elbowed some kid in the face, ripped off my sweatshirt, put on the jacket, spun back around, "Yay see it fits okay gimme my sweatshirt back", got my sweatshirt back on, and noticed that the girl previously checking me out was staring at me and my shirt the entire time.
Oh well. I still love this shirt.

P.S. Sitting Lyra will probably NOT make it to the start line of Nationals, namely because there isn't a line. It's just a string of cones.
