Lenny Robinson was a retired business owner who sold his cleaning company and spent his time doing charity work.

Lenny Robinson's "Batmobile"

 

After selling his cleaning company, Robinson invested in a highly detailed costume replica of the Batsuit and purchased a Lamborghini Gallardo which his customized as the Batmobile. He kept the trunk full of toys and spent his retirement visiting sick children in Baltimore area hospitals. He would arrange to surprise children in the hospital dressed as Batman and give out toys to the children and spend time with them.

Robinson became famous in 2012 when we was pulled over in Montgomery County, Maryland over an issue with his license plate which he forgot to replace. The image of Batman being pulled over by the the police instantly went viral and Robinson became internationally famous. He was allowed to leave after putting the state issued plate back on.

Robinson became a bit of a regional celebrity here in the DC and Baltimore Metro Areas. He was recognized for his efforts by several organizations including the Ronald McDonald Foundation. He even appeared on the news a few times to do the weather dressed as Batman.

DC and Baltimore being only 30mins apart Robinson spent his time traveling across the area visiting kids at hospitals and events with the mission of bringing smiles to their faces. He was an avid fan of the Baltimore Ravens and befriended members of the team. He would attend games dressed as Batman occasionally and pump up the crowds at halftime.

Lenny Robinson Tragically Died on August 16, 2015 after he was struck by a car while trying to repair his Batmobile on the roadside.
