honestly who thinks up stuff like that? since the age of 5, I've liked girl cartoons and that has stuck with me well into adult hood.

for example: MLP G1, G3 and FIM, strawberry shortcake 1980's and the 2003 re-iteration, rainbow bright and even sailor moon, cat girl nuko nuko, agelic layer.

I've started to appreciate girl cartoons a little more since coming into adult hood, I'm probably going to get crucified for this but, cartoons like batman, and G.I. Joe have limited appeal especially since the criminals they fight are like a revolving door--- Gi joe's fight with cobra never ends--- Kind of like our war on terror never ends. Batman because of old age retires from the life of a vigilante disillusioned and cynical. my point I guess is that the human spirit can only take so much hopelessness before it shuts down

the anti mlp crowd is just stuck in the stable, they need to come out why? because the air is cleaner ^_^
I guess there was no deep philosophical point to this first entry I just had to get things off my chest

I wouldn't exactly call Nuku Nuku a "girl cartoon."

Pretty sure they went after the moe-loving crowd somewhat. x )  And the Sailor Moon anime leaned more in that direction than the manga.  But I get what you're saying.

I remember Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Brite; I also watched Pippi Longstocking and Punky Brewster as a kid.  I was never part of a household where I was expected NOT to like series / films with female protagonists.

I would also like to mention that I had toys and paraphernalia from G1, a lunch box  majesty and surprise, (figures)

response to fan mail....

my step father  threw these out when I left for boarding school in 1996

You're not supposed to, but that's only what society says. People are stupid. Watch what you want, even if your parents (If you live with them) tell you not to. Only thing stopping you is if it's illegal to watch.

I was going to say that I don't know of any countries that would ban cartoons simply because it was geared towards girls, but upon closer scrutiny, entire nations that adopt islam have banned girl related stuff... in one country they had to smuggle barbie dolls on to the black market----smuggling things on to the black market that's what done with drugs and other forms of contraband......

my bio parents were cool with my mlp obsessions. they were the ones that bought most of the G1, and G3 stuff
