How the School of Friendship could work

Many MLP fans seem to criticize the School of Friendship and how the idea of Friendship can’t be taught in a traditional setting like a school. While I think that the idea of putting the school in the series was questionable at times, I would argue that having a school of friendship would be possible, and friendship could be taught in a school-like setting. 

Most of the classes would be like feelings forums, where the students talk about issues of friendship relating to the class that they are in. During the class, students take turns sharing their issues, and their classmates would offer their insights. The elements would mostly be there to guide the students in the right direction and prompt them when they are stuck. (Instead of whatever they were doing in the TV show.)

The class would also be quite hooves on learning in a way. The classes would have lots of field trips and projects, mainly relating to the teachers providing hypotheticals and having students explain their reasoning using game theory.

Do you think the entire curriculum is learning friendship? I think it would be like a normal school with only a couple hours per week on friendship. Because math and science are important too. :P

I know the friendship school was made to promote the playset but I'm convinced it was the next logical step in Twilights studies.

One thing I'd try are the assertive lessons like Iron Will taught, but show the students the proper way to do it. Take lessons they learned the hard way, and try to teach it the easy way.

Usually, schools do have normal classes as well. Sadly, I don't think the Mane 6 are good teachers for normal school, and the School of Friendship is quite a bad place to learn things in.

Well I think that the school of friendship would have other classes too. I was discussing some RP ideas involving the school of friendship with some other members and they all seem to think that it would most reasonable if the school also taught other subjects, but their main focus would be on friendship.

I forgot the plot of Season 8... How did the school come to be? What was the main driving force behind it?

It seemed like it was to introduce friendship to different creatures, or to have friendship between different races of Equestria. It was also heavily implied about racism with the plot of Chancellor Neighsay, however, it was never said out loud. Not exactly something to create a school around if you ask me.

Having a school with a theme is not new. I have heard some really nasty stories, and avoided some documentaries as well. I don't question if it works or not. I just know schools are important. That's all I know :oh_golly:

 

Having an RP can probably be quite entertaining/fun. Hopefully I didn't spoil that with my thoughts.
