Episode 155 - Oh, Nevermind. Forget it.

Heh, this is gonna be a really silly, specific one.  :ButtercupLaugh:  It's a little similar to episodes 103 and 149, but different from both.

Y'know what really grinds my gears?  When tv characters have a secret, and they decide to reveal it to someone close to them (like a trusted friend of family member), and they sit 'em down to have the big conversation, and they begin to tell 'em, but the instant before they say "I'm Batman", or "I love you", or whatever it is, what invariably happens?

Knock, knock!

Someone interrupts.  They tend to whoever is at the door, and then what happens next?  You know exactly what happens.

"So, you were about to tell me something?  What was it you wanted to say?"

"...Oh, nothing.  Nevermind.  Forget it.  I don't remember.  It wasn't important anyway.  I just wanted to... tell you... that... I'm... really liking... your new haircut!"

Really?  Why?!  WHY???!!  Why do they always change their minds??  Why do they always bail out just because they were interrupted?!  Why does that change anything??!

And what happens after that?  They keep trying and bailing, they keep procrastinating, and then the beans get spilled out of the cat bag accidentally during the climax, and it's in some hurtful way, and the other person goes, "Why didn't you tell me??!  How could you keep this from me??!", and then the other one goes, "I tried to tell you, but the timing never seemed right!"  Oh, f*ck you, f*ck off, gimmie a f*ckin break.  Pffft.    Why can't anyone ever just tell people things on tv?  Why do they always gotta needlessly drag things out until the climax?  Yeah, yeah, I know--so the story can happen, pad the runtime, blah, blah, blah.  It would be refreshing to have someone actually tell the truth before the figging finale, and then just have the story do something else, y'know?  There are a couple of refreshing examples where they do that, which I touched on in my Stop & Talk blog, but it's rare.
