Why we live in fear (hint: it's because of attachment)
Look around your room.
Quietly tell yourself what you see.
Why are these things, these things? Do you know why?
Because you give them meaning.
Let me explain it in terms that everyone can understand a bit better:
To a cat, a car is nothing more than a place to sit in the mid-morning sun. To us it is a vehicle to transport us from point 'a' to point 'b'. Though it may be useful to us, a cat has no reason to use a car to get around.
Every sentient being gives everything it sees a meaning and a purpose. We become attached to these meanings, believing them to be the ultimate reality.
We are simply just manipulating reality, forming it to our own relative belief.
To some of us, reality is nothing more than what science can explain.
To others it is created by a higher being.
And to some, it's completely nonexistent altogether - nothing more than an illusion.
