Well, let me start off by just saying, "Equestria Girls was freaking awesome!"

Now that that's out of my system, I can move on.

The good:

Awesome cameo/character placement.

This honestly was one of my favorite points in the showing.

It honestly made me smile and chuckle at times.

It was a cross between a Feel-good and a subtle-comedy.

It wasn't overly cliché

Of course we all knew most of the outcomes, but it still had some pleasant surprises.

The music...

Dear Lord, I wanted to cry, it was beautiful. Maybe too poppy, but I can live with it, the intro remix was great.

SUBTLE!!!!! Jokes.

They threw in those little snippets for the older audience to enjoy -- Such as references and slight Older audience jokes that the kids won't catch.

They didn't make Twilicorn unbearable.

Spike wasn't a waste of space!!! I actually enjoyed his presence... for once c:

The bad:

A few cheesy lines here and there, but it's to be expected.

Sunset Shimmer was unrealistically in control.

Seriously, who could win a school over that easily?

What the hell was a demon troll thing doing in MLP? *shrugs

Now this is just something I noticed... I haven't personally been following the EqG conversations so this may have already been spotted.

Galaxy Girls...

That's right, Galaxy Girls. Lauren Faust's new hit series she promo'd.

Take a look at the concept:

Boots

Skirts

The caricatures

The oddly proportioned bodies and heads.

Doesn't this all look similar to something we all know?...

...I'm just saying.

I see where they went with that though, and if you didn't notice... Faust was the influence over the entire film. You can see that she took her galaxy theme and melded it with MLP to get the more positive response.

I am not quite up-to-date on all of the EqG and GG, so I don't remember if GG was a thing or not -- But even so, it all leads me back to where I started.

EqG was great:

it was well written and what have you.

My Fanboy side gives squeals of joy as an 11/10

My logical side gives the movie 8.5/10.

It really wasn't as bad as everyone was making it to be. The only reason it got bad reviews from the fans is because... well... they're fans.

Fans, by words of wisdom from a mentor, are defined as those that follow, but do not wish to change. So this being the change, they didn't like it. But if it had been introduced as a new market and MLP never existed, it would sell because the Bronies would fall in love with the "now only existing" EqG.

So give 'er a shot, it was a great film, it only takes a small portion of your day that you are probably already spending on here anyways.
