To tell the truth I'm not expecting Episode 7 to set the world on fire either.  It'll still be interesting to see how Lucas' vision compares with Star Wars Expanded Universe and other material out there.

The only part of the prequels that I enjoy is the podracing scene. I STILL believe that we need to invest in hovercraft technology and make that a real sport.

As for VII, they better wow people or no one will pay attention to VIII and IX.

I actually slightly differ from your views on the new trilogy.  For me, Ep 2 was inexcusably bad and Ep 1 was meh. 

ANYWAY, I'm really hoping that 7 will be good, and at least delve into some of the New Jedi Order stories from things like the Timothy Zahn books.  That would be SO AWESOME!!!

I'm in the minority in that I like the prequel trilogy. Not as much as the original, but I don't see it as being nearly as bad as everybody else seems to.

Personally, I'd rank them:

Ep2 < Ep1 = Ep3 << Ep4 < Ep6 < Ep5

God, that would be awesome.

But sadly, it has been stated that it won't follow any of the books or anything. Persoanlly, I'd love to see a movie adaptation of the Thrawn Trilogy, or even a 6 movie adaptation of the Legacy of the Force or Fate of the Jedi series'. Those are soooooo good
