Well, companies in Japan, like nintendo or other stuff I've never heard of are vry succesful. They make great games, and since everything they do is overated (almost), like animes, their popularity is just rising. So ofc there is some favoritism, almost all the games are released first in Japan, and some exclusive stuff.

And since technology seems to be the most important thing to them, they get all the new stuff first. I don't know if you have noticed, but the Japan is always trying to do better than everyone else, trying to impress the world.

Personally, I quite dislike Japan, not because of video games, but because of japanese cars (Lots of historical facts and conspiracies and horrible stuff), animes and their so called "japanese pop".

But well, their consoles and ideas are slowly deterioring. I hope they realize soon that what most of the people want is a great video game with easy controls, not all this mess with graphics ad weird controllers.

I like anime, My mum drives a Toyota (a japanese brand) and I think J-pop is kinda cool... Maybe I'm just weird, but to me, Japan is a place filled with nothing but awesome. Well, not completely, but most of it is amazing. Heck, I even love Japanese mythology, tradition and culture in general.

However, the reason so much innovation comes from japan is, quite possibly, because most of the people there have strict schedules to follow and very little freedom in adulthood. They rejoice in what we consider weird because they need a break from reality. The time they have to themselves is used taking a break, escaping from their poor repetitive lives... It's the only reason I could not live there.
