The sports gods have long smiled on Boston.  They have more titles, for all sports, than any city except New York.  They've also enjoyed unprecedented success having won eight titles since the Patriots' first Super Bowl victory a decade ago. 

But people who know Boston knows they're a baseball town first and foremost.  While the Red Sox won recently in 04 and 07, this one was extra special. It came on the heels of a deadly attack several months earlier.  Ironically, the site of the bombing is just over a mile east of Fenway Park.  The Red Sox made history with their first home win since 1918.  But as sweet as that is, baseball is only a game.  Instead we bore witness to something extraordinary in 2013 because this year we are all Bostonians.
