Today I Actually Pre-Ordered A Game *Shocker*

So today I did something that seems pretty common place for most people, but only happens once in a blue moon for me, and that is Pre-Ordering a game.

Usually I wait for a week or so to see a few reiviews from trusted critics or play a friend's copy. Actually I hardly even buy big $60 games. I think the last time I bought a $60 full price new release game was... Duke Nukem Forever? Wow did I make mistake there. The one time waiting a few weeks would've saved me a ton and I decide to forgo that decision. (Not that I didn't like the game, it was an experience, but I would've liked to save money on it).

Most of the games I complete are borrowed or bought REALLY cheaply. And really its not too much about the money, but rather finding a game that I think is worth full price is rather difficult. I tend to be very critical on what I purchase with my own cash, so I better not feel like my money was wasted. Lately, most releases just don't interest me enough to empty my wallet right away.

I guess I should mention the game I Pre-Ordered was of course the long awaited Halo 4. I'm actually shocked I even care about this game, let alone investing in it. I played Reach to death. I played Reach to the point that looking at a Halo game made me feel sick. I figured I was done with the franchise for good.

Then lately I've caught a bit of clips and footage of the new installment, and found myself oddly not nausious. Actually, I am rather excited for the changes that the new studio has brought to the table. New enemies, episodic co-op events, and a fresh new multiplayer. I actually find myself hyped for a new multiplayer shooter, which by this point if it wasn't Bioshock or Unreal Tournament based I deemed near impossible.

So yeah hopefully I'll get my copy of Halo 4 on release day from Amazon (not GameStop, heavans no!). I'll probably be getting my old team back together (well minus one, rest in peace), and shooting it up again for old times sake. Hell, maybe even play with some new friends. Feel free to send a friend request to Stachioed, but I'll probably not be on until Halo 4's launch.

I look forward to maybe caring about online multiplayer gaming again. I feel like the Grinch now with my heart growing three sizes!

Halo 4! Halo 4!

Are you a Halo fanboy like me or are you just casual about it?

I pre-ordered this the first day possible.

So much wantssssss.

I would get Halo, but I don't want an Xbox. I haven't even pre-ordered BOII yet, even though I should.....

I decided to give BO2 a chance, not getting it at launch but waiting for a month or two to see if it's all it's hyped up to be.

@, Oh man you know Halo is so #GHETTO! Gonna run with mah crew, fuck bitches, get money. Ya hear me!

Lawl! I guess I'd call myself a casual fan at this point. I used to be a huge fan, but then found myself sick of it around the release of Reach. Actually, when I saw Halo 4 announced I kinda dreaded it. I knew Microsoft milking the franchise some more was inevitable, but I figured that if I was so upset by Bungie's last hurrah, then how could this new rag tag studio do anything.

But from what I've seen of it so far, the studio change is the breath of fresh air the franchise needed. Bungie is still one of my favorite developers, but 343 is really reinventing the franchise for the better it seems.

@, You know BOII is the last game I figured I'd be interested in its release being quite the CoD non-fan myself, but still it has me just a bit interested.

I won't be buying it myself, but I guess it will be fun if my friends hold a game night and play a bit of split screen (the only way I see myself ever playing the competitive CoD).

And the Zombie mode is probably the one CoD thing I fully like. If only I could just buy CoD Zombies as a cheaper downloadable title instead of the full CoD game I'd be sold.

And yeah, I used to have a PS3 but my brother took it when he moved out. (He's more of the PS3/CoD fan of the family where I'm more Microsoft/Halo). I just like the Xbox so much more despite having to pay $60 a year extra. The Xbox Live Party System is worth it in my opinion, but you can make your call on that yourself.

But I am interested in buying an original model PS3 if I could find it at a reasonable price. Full backwards compatabilty man! :)

Funny thing is, Black Ops II is gonna have a Zombies campaign in it, along with some other stuff, like 8-man and 4v4 Zombies, etc. 3arc really wants Zombies to be better than before this time :)

They're milking zombies more than a pregnant cow at this point.

I don't doubt their abilities and I think the new game modes will be interesting enough though they are literally saying "Hey! Everybody likes Zombies, so let's put all of our focus on it so that more and more people buy it! Just for the zombies! We're so creative, aren't we?"

@, well that's how franchises work. You find what people like and try to capitalize on that. I'm actually happy to see the huge focus on Zombies because its really the only portion of the game I care for these days. But if something's popular you'd be stupid not to try and extend it.

And what they have done with the Zombie mode in the past few years has been surprisingly creative for a Call of Duty game. It started as basic survival and evolved littel by little either by giving each character lines and a personality, new and interesting weapons, explorative level design filled with easter eggs and other secrets.

I've been basically saying for the past few years is why don't 3arc just make CoD: Zombies its own game, and giving it its own campaign and new modes is pretty damn close to what I was hoping for, so if anything I think its heading in the right direction.
