    Anime - Must Watch
    Air Anime (Playlist)
    AIR

Have you ever felt like... you don't belong? Have you ever felt like you couldn't do anything
yourself? Have you... ever? Magic exists and so does destiny but is our life predetermined?

These questions are asked and answered in AIR , the show itself is full of wonder--and happiness, sadness and hope. Have you ever not felt like you belonged, or have you ever felt like there was something that controlled how you acted? Life is what you make it. Our past does not determine who we are--it is only what we do in the now.

If you have ever wanted a friend, if you have ever needed to be with someone and didn't know how to control yourself... you need to watch this anime. You must stay strong through all your hardships until you reach your goal--don't give up on anything, not your goal--not your life, not your happiness.

The main character of this anime is Misuzu , a young child who has dreams of a girl in the sky. Misuzu has a hard time making friends, as we all seem to at some point--she lives with her Aunt and learns to grow up essentially on her own with no familial affection. The day of summer vacation for her--she meets a traveler called Yukito--he is a tall slender silver-haired man with no money. Little does Misuzu know that he will be the key to her happiness--that we all strive to have someone we love--and that we all strive to have that one person who can make us strive to be everything we can to find and achieve our goals.

    Editor's Opinion
The English dub is good insofar as it follows the Japanese Translations/Manga very well--but the voices for three or four characters do not seem to fit the personality style of the character. It is a personal bias on my behalf--I have seen both the Japanese and English versions--the English isn't awful, not by a long mile--but in comparison to the Japanese dub/translation, it could be better. Everything is great otherwise.

TL;DR: Superman roflstomps because of America-writerhax; the only versions that would be able to be beaten by End of Z Goku would be DCAU Superman, Golden Age, Animated Versions (except All-stars), POSSIBLY The New 52 Superman(will discuss) and the Movie Versions of Superman

(Pre-script: I will be revising this version and coming out with a new one shortly)

    Dear Reader,

This has been plaguing my mind for the longest time. Personally--I am a huge fan of anime, one of which was Dragonball/Z--I have grown up watching it, and find that Goku is one of my favorite Super Heroes of all time. If I had to list my favorite heroes:
    1. Goku
    2. Gohan
    3. Batman
    4. Wolverine
    5. Spiderman

Now, why is it that I rage out at Superman/Goku fights? Because I've noticed the majority of people who argue in this either go with "LOL SUPERMAN IS GAY" or "GOKU'S WEAK!" Which, personally--I agree with both of those statements. I hate Superman, and in comparison to Superman, Goku is weak; however, as you will go to notice, this thread will be VERY long. IF you wish to continue onto this topic, I will be more than happy to discuss any theory you may have to try and have Goku win--since I do want that. But I've looked at everything.
    STRENGTH
First and foremost the following argument is invalid and I will go to prove it:
If this is true, then, the following scans are inaccurate

Going on--Superman doesn't say his weight limit is 100tons.

Science may "prove" that--however if that is the case then it is very inconsistent. And therefore we cannot use that "Science" to prove anything. In raw strength, though, Goku is at a disadvantage for the mere fact that Superman has many different feats.

Based on speculation and feats I would say that the feats of Superman clearly put Goku in over his head. We'll use Goku at the end of Z with his SSJ2, because SSJ3 is too much of a strain--and even with the SSJ3 I'll suggest why Goku wouldn't be able to beat Superman.

Post-crisis Superman is shown to be holding a miniature black hole--which if you know the MINIMUM mass for a black hole is Planck's Mass but the catcher is that the hole must concentrate mass or energy so that the escape velocity from the region in which it is concentrated exceeds the speed of light. To do so you need Schwarzschild's Radius R=2GM/c^2 (G is the gravitational constant; c is the speed of light; M is the mass of the black hole).

It is true that we do not know the mass of the black hole but we can assume that it pushes Superman to his limit. He is shown next overpowering Warworld

And he has also absorbed Meggedon's Warhead energy which could take out half a galaxy.

Now--why would I suggest that Post Crisis is still stronger even if Ki has a large influence in the DB-verse? Because of these feats in and of themselves put him on par with the DBZ-bad-boys. As for strength feats of Cell. Cell states that he has the ability to destroy the solar system.

He has the ability TO destroy a Solar System--I will agree with this to a point; however NO character in the series has an attack with the blast diameter large enough to destroy a solar system in one blast, based on the size of the Final Flash, the Solar Kamehameha, Gohan's Kamehameha and Goku's Spirit Bomb (Final). If I had to be completely honest, I think Cell believes he can blow the solar system up--just as there is a scan of Burter saying he can move faster than the speed of light--and when he says he is the fastest in the universe, he means "fastest excluding Frieza, and people stronger than me."

    - The scan was editted so it is not official.

Personally I think Cell would be surprised if he shot the beam--and it didn't destroy the solar system. If all the planets were aligned properly--I think he would be able to wipe the solar system out--maybe if he was able to destroy the sun with a blast. So--I will concede that Cell has the ability to possibly destroy the sun.

So--power wise, yes--he would be able to destroy planets themselves--but not the whole solar system due to the diameter of the attack. If we want to go more in depth--and you want to use the canon-DBZ you can use Kid Buu going from planet to planet destroying each of them. By the Manga, Goku and Buu are no where near Solar System/Galaxy Busters.

In the anime, non-canon even, Broly--in the English version--"destroyed" a galaxy, but Goku went to said galaxy and was standing on one of the planets. So it goes to show the error in the American translations. In the initial Japanese dub--narrator says that the Southern Galaxy is being attacked by a Super Saiyan. And that's why Goku goes to the Southern Galaxy, to check it out. In terms of feats Anime Movie DBZ >> Anime DBZ >>> Manga DBZ.

Now an argument of "He doesn't show it therefore he can't do it" is logical for those who like Superman to use, but the argument stands as it's just stated; we cannot PROVE that Cell can destroy a Solar System so we have to go based on an enemy who claimed he was "perfect" and still could lose. On the same scale, we see that Frieza says he can destroy Namek--yet when he uses his attack Namek stands.

    Chapter: 320 (DBZ 126), P9.2
Context: after it turns out Planet Namek didn’t blow up
Freeza: “Chih…! Did I suppress my power too much…?!”
Goku: “It’s because you were afraid of getting caught up in the planet’s explosion yourself…You screwed up. Though thanks to that, I survived…”

Now--Goku says it's because Frieza was afraid of getting caught up in the explosion but Frieza clearly states that he can survive in space--and seeing that at LESS than 50% of Frieza's health he was able to survive the planet's explosion he had nothing to be afraid of. He held back his ki; however when it shows Planet Vegeta being destroyed by Frieza first form--it is completely overtaken. I don't doubt planet busters in the DB-verse. I believe that Frieza thought he could destroy the planet--just as I believe Cell believes he can destroy the solar system, just as I believe Burter thinks he's the fastest in the universe.

What makes me suggest that Cell wasn't a Solar System buster? The fact that Buu had skills similar to Cell's but was CLEARLY much more powerful. He had to go from planet to planet to destroy a galaxy. The characters in DBZ are eventual galaxy destroyers--in the sense that they are able to conquer and destroy a galaxy with ease, yes--but not one-shotting.

    - This is just an Example when it comes to Mephisto vs. Galactus

    - Even just by pure boasting this would prove more and if we continue on

    - This is between Dr. Fate and Spectre.

If we are going by the anime, for Buu we can suggest two things; he is a universe destroyer (he can cause a rip in dimensions and cause the universe to be destroyed by people coming THROUGH other dimensions) and kid buu is a galaxy destroyer (not buster).

Kid Buu going planet to planet destroying each of them

    - Dende expressing Anime Super Buu could destroy the multiverse with the dimensional rip he'd cause

Now--the reason I suggest that Superman is stronger than Goku isn't because the DBZ-verse is wrought with weak people. On the contrary, the anime suggests many inconsistencies, and English dub translations do the same. On another note--Anime Goku is stronger than Manga Goku--just as Comic Superman (except Golden Age) is stronger than Cartoon/movie Superman.

I suggest Superman is stronger because of the feats that are expressed showing Superman's strength. From Pre-crisis, to post-crisis. Even the new 52 shows his strength feats more. I will express that Goku doesn't NEED to express his strength--but the feats of power are shown in planet busting from a few characters. Later it is shown--as I suggested earlier--that Physical strength is NOT something that the characters in DBZ have. Goku is shown lifting 40 tons, easily after transforming Super Saiyan--but before that he had a hard time. Then you have the Z Sword which Gohan lifts--he has trouble lifting the sword and using it and we have no way of seeing how much it weighs since Gohan in his Great Saiyaman outfit is able to easily lift a plane the size of a Boeing 747 where Goku has a hard time training with 40 tons. The inconsistencies are present in Superman, as well, but moreso in DBZ. Sometimes Goku seems to have lifting power--sometimes he doesn't. Piccolo and Goku in a filler had a hard time keeping a Bus in the air--but it could be to create drama. Goku and Piccolo are much stronger than that, and they can destroy the bus if they wanted, easily--but lifting power is something that seems to be inconsistent in DBZ.
    SPEED
First I want to express that the idea of moving faster than the speed of light is completely ridiculous--and whenever I hear Flash, Superman etc. saying they are going faster than the speed of light--it makes me rage just on the basis of the Theory of Relativity. Short bursts would mean nothing (in the long run) but travelling hours, days et cetera--FTL characters would age and time on Earth, or wherever, would seem longer than what they felt. If they were gone for a day travelling light speed--it may have been weeks on Earth.

Combat speed and travel speed can be different, such that Goku could move light speed theoretically in combat, but not in his travelling speed; however, with previous versions of Superman we have seen that he can move short, and long distances at light speed--to the point where one of his favorite things to do was to speed blitz--and I do believe that the heroes of DBZ can move at fast speeds. The problem with the American Manga is that it is VIZ who does it--their translation is off. So if you want to go with two(three) versions of Goku; one version is the Anime(dub)with all movies, the Anime without movies, and the manga (canon) we can do this:

Canon Manga DBZ has no true FTL(faster than light) feats expressed. The only one that is expressed in the Viz version is Burter and there are better versions out there. Though--the FTL feat of Burter is not expressed in the manga just the dub version (as shown earlier).

If anything he's moving mach speeds. Personally I would like to assume they can move FTL for combat speed--so we will suggest that NON-canon anime DBZ have FTL implications. Why do I say this? Because all of the English dubbing states "Faster than light" since Raditz, where the initial Japanese Manga/anime do not imply that. So for Americans' sake yes there are characters who are FTL. If you can travel at light speed--can you combat at light speed? Superman's speed blitzing certainly suggests so.

Even though Combat Speed and travelling speed are different. We'll have to use these next few feats for our only argument on their travel speed.

Gohan's house from Orange Star High School is 1000km even with his 7 year slack after Cell I don't think that his speed would have degenerated THAT much in comparison on the basis that "Goku can move light speed in the Frieza Saga"--Gohan at that time in the Buu series would have been able to go FTL even in his base form. Gohan suggests that he can go from his house, to his school in 20 minutes. He IS in his Great Saiyaman outfit, so he could just be showing off, but it is hard to tell.

Now, the NEXT idea would come from Goku and Snake Way the length was 1,005,840km--it's 625,000miles. Goku ran that in two days. IF Goku was able to move even close to light speed (Since at that point he was STRONGER than Raditz and the DBZ Logic is "If A > B > C" then "A > C" so since--theoretically--Raditz could move at light speed Goku should be able to as well, at this point. IF he was able to move light speed--he would have been able to be back at Earth's doorstep, essentially, well before two days--by the logic assumed in the fictional world.

Now--we then go to Gotenks on Earth, since that is the only other time we see a Speed Feat. We then see that he was SSJ flying around the world--multiple times, stopped to take a 20 minute nap. It was said that he flew around 9 times. He then immediately after Piccolo finds him, he runs out of his time for the fusion. In that time--he flew around the world 9 times in 10 minutes, and napped for 20 minutes. Not light speed. The actual statement is:

The image is clearly Gotenks flying around nine times but again--it is unclear how fast he did it but "multiple times" in minutes, having nap time and then flying to buu's only to run out of fusion within the last minute--is all indicative that Gotenks could not fly light speed.

Why don't I think Gotenks is FTL?

    Diameter of earth: ~8,000 miles.
Diameter of Gotenks' circles: ~24,000 miles.
    Circumference of circle: 75,360 miles.
Total distance of trip: 376,800 miles.
Duration of trip: ~3 minutes. (The maximum someone (untrained, or under special circumstances) can hold their breath)
Speed: 2,093 miles per second (Not the speed of light)

ALSO--if he was going FTL, there wouldn't be a light behind him. This was after Piccolo told him "Show me" and he flew around the world and took a nap.

For speed feats of Current Superman (not The New 52 version) we see that he is able to put his arm through Cyborg Superman, vibrate his arm and shatter him. He has been seen to vibrate his body so fast that he appears invisible. When I say Post-Crisis superman that even includes "Modern Superman" and not just Byrne's Superman. Byrne's Superman was nerfed in the sense that he could no longer move planets, but he was still nigh indestructible. On top of this--we have seen Superman dive into the sun to gain strength. If we want to go on the basis of EVERY Superman:

Prime One million (Essentially; think God)

    Prime (Evil)

Silver Age (Sneezed galaxy out of existence; and his feats overall are ridiculous, they include planet pulling, accidental time travel (being punched into the past flying back to present))

All Star (Quoted at lifting 200quintillion tons; but other than that, people surmise that Current Age is still better All-star, however there are reasons why All-Star would be well above]Current Age (Byrne's whose Superman wasn't overpowered but was still strong in comparison to the average human/martian)

With Superman's Current Age he would PROBABLY be up to Goku(Namek--SSJ) and possibly SSJ2 Goku (beginning of Buu) just on the basis of All Star Superman can lift up to 200quintillion tons (well over Goku's limit suggested at 40 tons in the other world prior to SSJ power up) and Current Superman >>>> All Star Superman based on feats and overall abilities; and other than that, his durability can rival SSJ2 Goku based on the idea that he can survive two planets colliding. So, if you want to go from there and go up to SSJ3 Goku--I would suggest that possibly the Current Age Superman's strength would be more than satisfactory, but his combat feats are little in comparison to Goku's. I do suppose that All-star Superman would easily be able to take SSJ3 Goku on the basis that he has more combat feats that express how strong he is.

My supposition that Current Superman (New Earth) could beat Goku comes from the idea that his speed, and strength should overall be more than enough. His laser vision/heat vision is able to create a blast radius the size of Goku's Kamehameha wave

That may be subjective but based on the size of Cell's Kamehameha and Goku's later Kamehameha wave--this would be a good basis to assume the two are similar. ALSO on the basis that his Heat Vision can cover a whole planet from 200,000 miles away:

    DURABILITY

Goku's durability comes into question a bit because of how he bleeds regularly. Through punches, and being knocked through mountains. Does he lose control of his ki when he gets knocked back? IF so how does he stay Super Saiyan? Let's assume that he loses control of his Ki and gets knocked into a mountain and bleeds. Then it can be surmised that Superman has more durability in this case due to the fact that he has..

Taken a blast equal to one million nuclear blasts

    - He is still alive but he is feeling very weak. Obviously from the sun he would heal.

    Survived a Supernova, just unconscious

Goku has great stamina in the sense that he does not heal up like Superman so his Stamina may be better than Superman's, overall--but the fact that Superman is nigh invincible puts Goku at a disadvantage. And on the last note--Superman, if for whatever reason he cannot take Goku, can Sundip--meaning. He dives into the sun, whether it's for seconds, or minutes, and come out stronger than before.
    --

If I had to line them up in fair fights:

Goku (End of Dragonball) vs. Golden Age Superman - the reason this fits is because of Feats. Goku and G.A. Superman are equivalent at this stage, though Superman can "lift" heavy objects he has hardly any combat experience, and Goku rarely uses Ki in the same sense that he would later in the series--so it is pretty evenly matched. Goku could use his Kamehameha and his After Image to do some good work on him.

Goku (End of Cell/Beginning of Buu) vs. New Earth (Current) Superman - Superman still has hardly any Combat feats, and is just pure strength at this point--but because of his durability it should give him an edge against Goku over-all. Feats seem to trump "raw power" in DBZ, I think. With the idea that this Superman can close rips in reality it would leave him able to close the rips that SSJ3 Goku may cause (as suggested by others, SSJ3 Gotenks feat and Super Buu feat).

Goku (End of Z) vs. New Earth (Current) Superman OR All-star Superman [hard to tell at this point] - Over all, All-star would be too much of a challenge, his feats put him over the edge at least to GT Goku, probably half-way no joke--and at the end he would probably be able to take Goku full SSJ4 with his abilities.

Goku (End of GT, no Dragonballs) vs All-star Superman - Again--based on All-Star Superman feats, his strength is suggested to be above Current Superman since he is "Pre-crisis Superman" told in a modern setting. Difference is Pre-crisis is still more powerful, but is highly susceptible to his weakness, whereas All-Star has no/limited weakness.

Goku (End of GT Dragonballs) vs. Superman Prime 1 million - We cannot suppose what Goku can do until we see him out of the balls doing whatever. And Superman 1mil is a god--and supposed to practically live til the end of time. His feats are almost non-existent but his strength and abilities are noted. Essentially he has the power of a cosmic being. If we see GokuShenron we would need to see lots of feats to prove that he could stand up--and if his feats surpass Superman Prime 1mil, then it would be enough--otherwise most people in these fights go off of feats

    Sincerely,

    Written August 23, 2012:

It's hard to fathom what life will be like without you, for so long I've used you for advice and a shoulder. Such a strong-willed and fantastic man with a stern code of honor. You always desired the best and you instilled a strong sense of morality in me. I wanted the best for you, I wanted anything and everything that you could have had. It's hard seeing such a thing happen at such a young age--and I mean yours, not mine. You raised me and brought me up to be who I am today. Taught me what to do in the event of this, and taught me how to be the man/boy/thing I am today. If Batman is my favorite Superhero, then under that mask, he is Michael Wayne Loyd.

..Remember when we were in that trailer and Mikie and I would play "Bingo" and you said "MIKIE, NICK. GO TO BED!?" Or even when we lived in the house, and our dalmatian Cody was running around the house, you went to go change and then shut the door--he hit his head on the door hard and then decided to keep running. Remember how mad you got when Mikie and I opened up Christmas Presents before you and mom had woken up? Oh you were pissed. You said you wanted to take the presents back and mom said that you shouldn't. Haha. Remember when you lived in Wisconsin in the apartment and we had lots of fun? You never stopped loving mom, you told me that. We did a lot of things... the summers in Omaha were great--I remember sitting on the couch and watching Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and other cartoons and shows during the summer. And I decided I wanted to go to school in Omaha and never left. I loved being with you, Dad. We had such fun times. Remember when you said "Let's go to the zoo" on one of the days I had school, in Elementary school. And you called me in sick?

Remember when we saw the George Bush, Al Gore election, and you said I'd never see a race so close in my entire life. You stayed up all night watching it and I watched with you. Every Christmas you got me great gifts. Every birthday you made or got me Red Velvet Cake. Every birthday of yours I'd try to make Sloppy Joes and Chocolate Milk. "I always had that every year since I was young" you said. You helped me feel better when I was nervous about school. You helped me through my first breakup. You helped me when I felt suicidal. We got Spike--and you said that I couldn't have picked a better cat. That he was the best cat you've ever had.

My first concert was Kiss and Aerosmith in 2003, and you said "don't tell the kids at school that it was too loud, because then they'll think you're old." We came back and the apartment smelled like paint. Remember the birthday you got me a Game Boy Advance. You got me the game, and you showed it to me, and it was Mario Kart for the Advance, and you had that one carrying bag? You put the Game Boy in there and when I saw the game, I told you I didn't have a Game Boy Advance, and you said "But it goes with the gameboy you have now." And I was sad--then you gave me the bag and told me to open it. And the Advance was in there? You surprised me. You introduced me to the band Everclear with their album Learning how to Smile Vol. 1. We had almost the same taste in music. I remember when you introduced me to Rush when I was younger, who would have thought that we would go see that on your 50th birthday!?

Throughout High School we went to various concerts. Motley Crue, Aussie Floyd, Eric Clapton--you gave me that bet that if I didn't smoke til I was 18 (and invariably later than that) I would get 100 dollars. And you gave me the 100 for doing that--and I didn't smoke and didn't want to. I felt so bad for leaving Omaha to live in Kearney for college. I felt so terrible that I couldn't see you all the time. I moved and it seemed like we got more distant, but we actually got closer. I called you often, talked about problems I had. Listened to your problems. You cried because you missed me a lot... and that made Finals week hard--but you know what? I came back that Summer and we had fun, through the arguments. We went to the Olympic Trials and saw Michael Phelps break the world record for the first time, in 2008.

You supported me in everything I did--even though sometimes you'd give your opinion, and I wouldn't listen. You gave me everything and it was a lot to ask for but you gave me whatever you could. You did the best for everyone who asked for help. Remember when you got a PS3 for yourself because "It plays blu-ray movies, and I also got Rock Band." Haha you said you monkey'd around on the Drums, and you weren't half bad. You said I was the "best guitarist" in all of Rockband, and haha you are wrong still. But you know, we got through Green Grass and High Tides and damn that song was hard. You were amazing on drums, and remember that time you beat me at the Madden game? Oh man you beat me and you asked if I was going easy on you and I wasn't.

... you liked Howl's Moving Castle and didn't like anime, but that's fine. You liked the movie. You and I saw every 007 movie that came out, and we saw the Batman movies, too. You always wanted me to date Devin, because "She's a nice girl" haha you liked her. You liked a lot of my friends. Oh man, there's not enough I can say about you, you were the best thing in my life and it's hard to believe you are gone. The first thing you said to Ann when she said "hello Mr. Loyd" was 'Call me Mike, Mr. Loyd was my dad.' And that's exactly what I think when people call me Mr. Loyd now. When you were upset it was apparent. I remember the bad times we had, and you had. I remember all your stories. I hate that I don't get to hear anymore. I find it so stupid that I wasn't so close this last year and we had lots of little arguments. We talked a lot and still it doesn't seem like enough. And you wanted me to get you Flowers on Father's day--and I didn't. I mean.. I had to fix my car and didn't have the money otherwise to get them but damn it I could have gotten you some.

I got you Green Bay Packer Crocs that you never took off and you never wore another pair of shoes after you put those on. I got you lots of Packer gear, you loved them. I hope they go to the Superbowl this year. Angels in the Endzone haha. I mocked your PJs but you loved them and they were nice. People like your PJs. You had such stupid little songs you sang when you were talking to Spike--and the plants, and they were funny. Man I wish I could hear them again. Remember when we saw Avatar on blu-ray? How awkward we were? Yeah, then we got over it. I gave you that big present, and you said "HOLY CRAP." Hahah you were hilarious. You gave me such great advice about lots of things in life, when I got upset and had to ask you for things you were listening to me through my rants. You were giving me exactly what I asked for. You were proud when I graduated high school--we fought when I had a hard time getting through College because of a Professor--we bitched about that for weeks but you know what. We got through it. You know, when I was younger I always had dreams of Arnold Schwarzenegger being my dad--haha and you know, you were a greater dad than anyone could ever be.

You made me work for what I had. I felt like I could never live up to your expectations, I felt like I could never BE you--and that's good and bad. When we went up to Grandpa's funeral--we talked about a lot of things. You let me drive the MUSTANG up there!? What were you thinking you crazy old fart? This year I really wish I had spent more time with you. It's 2012... and it feels like the world is already ending. You asked me for Flowers for Father's Day--and I laughed at you because "who gets their dad flowers" and now I don't get to get you flowers. You said you've never gotten Flowers as a present when you were alive--and now we were supposed to meet up on your birthday, August 25th, 2012. You got me a Breadmaker, and you said "well you have to come up to get it I won't send it to you." And of COURSE I would come up for your birthday. And we planned on seeing Batman, we planned on going to Outback Steakhouse--we planned on all of that. Movies, fun, and combining the weekend to be a Dad/Son birthday--since I wouldn't be there for September 8th to have Red Velvet Cake.

I got you two nightlights, both Packers. One was a Football night light... and the other had the G logo on it. ... it wouldn't replace the nightlight you already had, remember--you said "that's the best damn thing I've ever bought it's never run out!" Yeah you're right. I was gonna get you a chess set--haha good thing I didn't. I'd have to play a Packers Chess set by myself and that would suck.Well I don't know what else I'd have to say. I wish we had more Thanksgivings together, and Christmases, and more lots of things together which I can't do anything about. You were a great father, you still are. People say "He's watching from heaven and he's your guardian angel." Jesus man--don't do that. Seriously, you spent a good chunk of your life helping me out, please just enjoy yourself wherever you are. I hope it's just green and yellow, and I hope you have your Green Bay shoes... because I know that it'll suck wearing anything but.

I'm trying to feel better, and I'd rather people think I'm an emotionless prick for not crying all the time--but you know every time I think about things and how I won't get your advice. Won't hear you. Won't get anything more from you like phone calls or anything. It just hurts. Dad... when the police came to my house and told me you had passed away. I lost it. I was gone, anything that I had, had been shattered and lost because I didn't think that you would go this soon--we had plans. I didn't want to do anything but wallow in sorrow. But I didn't. I called people I needed to call. I waited a day to do other things, but I did what you told me. "Remember to call Grandma, your aunts and your mom and Patty." And I did. When they told me your liver failed, and that caused your death. It hurt so much--I was sad and angry and just didn't want to go on with socializing. I wanted to shut down. When they told me it'd failed two weeks ago. I was frustrated and pissed at you because I thought you would have known. I talked to the coroner and she said "No way would he have known unless he went to the doctors, and there's no pain. And the only thing he told his friend was "I'm tired" and he was a little shaky. And then went to sleep, and he died in his sleep." That's what you wanted... that's what you would have wanted. You didn't want pain.

You were so excited for me coming up to see you and so was I. You wanted me there and I wanted to be there. The first thing I thought was "well shit, how is he gonna try this bread?" It's been hitting me harder and harder every day. I called you the night I found out, to make sure you weren't just joking. To make sure it wasn't a dream. God I really hope that it is, and I wake up and you call me and say "Heyyyy Nick, this your dad." Just tell me something. I have a hard time living now, I want to be able to talk to you and to see you, and to hear you--and to hug you. I want to hold you. Don't worry you're not gonna be seen, you're getting what you wished... you'll be cremated. And I know how you looked in the Superior obituaries every day and you know what--I'm getting you in there too, I'm getting you in Omaha and also here in Kearney. I'm doing everything I can just like you asked. But you were only 51... going on 52. Well at least you outlived Maurie--you looked better too. He was walking death, remember? I don't know what else to say I'm trying to keep on going... I'll be in Omaha soon and I'll try to enjoy every minute but I probably won't I'll try.

I know you'd want me to be happy. No matter what you or anyone says, you were and are the greatest father. I wouldn't want any other one. You lived up to all my expectations and I just don't want this to be true. I want to write more, I want to do more. Everything I'm doing doesn't feel like anything the only reason I got through college was because and for you. The only reason I am where I am is because of you. Anyway--I love you still do, always want you here. And I can't feel anything but sorrow when I think of you being gone. I want to be the best always and make you proud wherever you are. I love you.

    Love,

    Your son

August 20, 2012 the world lost a man who doesn't matter to the "whole of society;" however, to some people it was a huge loss. The weight of the world, which burdened some people--became four times as much. I don't know if you've ever yelled at your parent, I don't know if you've ever been so upset that you wanted to hit them. I don't even know if they treat you right, right now. But if you live under their roof, or you hear them call, or you talk to them. I implore you to tell them that you love them. Why, though--would I say that?

You think you hate your parents--when they yell at you. Imagine when they make you angry--and when they make you happy. Imagine when you call them and ask for advice, and they give it to you. Even if you ignore their advice--imagine the smile that it brings to their face to see their child call them and ask for help. Now, imagine one day you've got a question or you've had a hard day--and you call your parent's phone. And someone else picks up. And it suddenly strikes you--again, that "He's dead."

Not only is it just as shocking as the moment you found out, but it's just as troublesome to get over it. Every day you look at things and see what he or she gave you. The life they strived for you to have--the happiness they had when you were with them. When you went to college in a different town--when you went on vacation and they lived alone--when the last thing they had was a cat, and plants. The last family member they enjoyed was you.

Imagine walking into the house to clear it out--and the first thing you see is the Bread Maker they were going to bought you--and on an envelope is a list of bread that you were supposed to make for them for their birthday. Their birthday--the day you clean out their apartment and make their "Stuff" yours, the day you have to situate for arranging their deathly arrangement, cremation or funeral.

Five days before my father's 52nd birthday--he passed away. He told me a month prior "Hey Nick; this your dad" (as he would say in his unique voice) "You know, you have to come up to see me to get your birthday present!" to which I replied
"Obviously--dad, I will! I'll be up there that day and we'll have three days!" Prior to that, the last thing I told him, next to "I love you" was 'Hey dad--isn't it funny? The older people get, the more likely they are to die on their birthday! So--remember--you shouldn't die on your birthday. Okay?' A brutal alcoholic, he was, a brutal son of a gun he had become since losing his job; however, in spite of that, he took care of his kids--even when one insulted him, after he gave him money. After lending a thousand dollars to my brother--the child had the gall to blast him with texts the next day saying how he was the worst father in the world.

This coming from a 25-year-old is un-called for. The real thing he should have said? "Thank you, dad--I know we have had hard times, and I haven't made it easier, but I love you--and thanks for helping me when I asked. I'm sorry for manipulating your feelings." Even weeks before his death I would get calls asking "Why does he hate me?" My only reply was "...he's an ass--I don't know."

The world lost a man who cared more about the well-being of anyone, a man who; in spite of his age--went INTO a burning building to grab his cat because he didn't want him hurt. And the second time someone set fire to the apartment, he went and knocked on every door. The same man who couldn't sleep because of fear--the same man who ended up becoming so weak and fearful of leaving his house--that he could hardly stand to leave it for even a few hours.

This man was a marine--and what set his downfall was the loss of a job--due to outsourcing. Due to the economy--due to "cheap labor" in another country. I don't blame Indians for taking his job--I blame his company for keeping [x] workers who didn't know how to do their job--and would ask my father for help. I blame the company for firing him--after the first time in 11 years of work--he took 5 months off because of the Walking Pneumonia. He didn't realize he had it--could hardly breathe and I forced him to go to the hospital, that stubborn mule finally went and was hospitalized.

The day he was laid off was the day he sunk lower than I could ever imagine. His whole being was shattered--when a man loses his job, he can lose all motivation to move on--he attempted, but being in his late forties at the time--he didn't seem wanted. He decided, eventually--after a fire--that he couldn't leave home. He had a hard time sleeping--he couldn't do what he wanted out of fear. He wanted to move, but he didn't.

His sudden death struck me by storm, tears stormed down worse than New Jersey could ever see--but I sucked it up and knew what I had to do. Imagine calling your grandmother, and telling her "...your son is dead." Then calling your aunt and saying "I'm sorry--dad's dead... I don't know--please... call who you need--I told Grandma because I know he told me to. And--and I knew that's how he'd want it." And then you call your mom--the last thing she said was, essentially "I dislike talking to him" and the first thing you tell her is that he's dead--she is sad, obviously--because he was your father. And still is.

Imagine, that same night... the only thing you crave for is to hear it. Is to hear his voice. And you crave to have him call and say "Hey Nick; this your dad" in that voice that only he had. And you call his phone, only to hear his oh-so-familiar voicemail "This is Mike and Spike; leave a call, bye."

August 20th the world lost a man. But more importantly. I lost a father.

It gets easier--and the only thing I want you, as a reader--to do. Is if you speak to your parents. Even if you're mad. Even if you are so angry at them you can't talk. ... tell them you love them. Because that will make them happy--even if you are so frustrated. Tell them you love them. Because that can be the best thing someone can hear before they die--just knowing that someone loves them; their child whom they have protected with so much.

[update: There's another entry I may or may not put up that I'm still wondering about--it's a bit more powerful than this; but it's very personal. So if I do it'd probably be later--the chances of my Category:Father being updated often is slim; probably on rare days, and his birthday]

Just got a game recently, called Gundam Breaker. You can build your own gundam. I just recently build a Rainbowdash Custom, and a Fluttershy custom, here is the RD custom --I'll be making the Mane 6 and possibly a Spike-gundam, then I will have my own 5. And from everyone else--I will be taking suggestions for 3 other gundams. If you have an OC and you want to get a Gundam based from them--shoot me the image and I'll make it for you.

Anyway--I'll post my mechs in another post today or tomorrow.

Remember, on this day--September 11th, we don't just remember the horrible events of that day in 2001, we don't just remember the terror in our hearts. We don't just remember who said they attacked us, and we don't just remember conspiracy theories. What we remember is how we as a people came together to support each other. And what we have forgotten since then--is how to continue supporting each other. Despite what happens and what has happened, and despite who attacks, the masses don't represent the individual. Suggesting that all Muslims are terrorists, or supposing that any middle eastern is to be feared only leads us further into the clutches of the injustice that sought to destroy our land.

Not to mention. From what I know, most of the terrorism that has occurred in the states has happened thanks to white people/non-muslims. So, all you "MUSLIM ARE TERRORIST" people that I know--think about all the white people you have forgotten to insult, and remember if you're going to be a jackass, do it right.

[*] Yes--I know some people will say something along the lines of "WELL THAT WAS THE WORST ATTACK ON AMERICA FOR TERRORISM IN HISTORY SO"--I don't care. One case vs. multiple cases; again--individuality dictates the action. A person chooses their action and their destiny.

Overall--there's a certain amount of prejudice that is needed in the world, and there is a level of ignorance that shouldn't be tolerated.

So remember guys, as Craig Ferguson said after the Boston Bombing, "I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, 'Well, I've had it with humanity.' But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human, insect, or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths. But here's what I DO know. If it's one person, or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out… This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.”

So--you wonder if the Wizard Edition is worth the wait? The game came out January 22nd, 2013; and I just received it today. I haven't played it--it came at 4:20pm (and I had to work tonight) but I waited to open it til I was at work. Let me just say--the contents are amazing. Not only is there a Drippy Plush--it comes with artwork, a Wizard Coin, a Wizard Soundtrack, a Spell Book (and the game).

Now--is the Spellbook worth it? Well, there are 340 pages in the book, all of which contain the following:

As well as the Nazcaän Alphabet.

Haven't played it yet--but I know the game will be worth it. Did you miss out on the Wizard Edition? I'm sorry. I still love you.

    Sincerely,
