    HELLO everypony!


     
     
     

    I know that not all of us animators have Adobe Flash CS6, so, being the very kind person I am(don't laugh at me), I've taken it upon myself to convert ALL of the Double Rainboom Pony Puppets, plus Celestia and Luna, to the Flash 8 version! Which basically means anyone with any version of Adobe Flash can animate with them!


     
     
     

    I went through a lot of trouble downloading all of the trial versions of Adobe Flash to accomplish this, so I hope this helps some potential animators!

    Pinkie Pride Review

    HELLO EVERYPONY, Swick here, and I'm gonna review the newest episode, solely because it's my favorite episode of MLP, no doubt. I'm gonna be that guy that doesn't even review, but instead just tells everyone how awesome it was or how much it sucks. This review isn't going to be a novel, *cough*Batbrony*cough*, just a short thingy. WOOHOO LET'S GO
     
    First off, I was already looking forward to this episode because it's centered around Pinkie Pie, and although I don't know too much about Weird Al, I knew that he was a funny guy that sang stuff. AND CHEESE SANDWHICH WAS BEAUTIFUL AND SO WAS BONELESS
     
    I'm gonna go all over the place with my review here, but can I just say there were two shots of Pinkie that I really, really liked for some reason. The first one is here:
     

     
    I think I mainly liked this shot because of the amazing song Pinkie was singing and really, how much emotion was shown. The other shot is probably, for whatever reason, my favorite shot of the show.

    And, as a friend of mine pointed out, Hawaii is now canon. "Hawaiin shirts"

    Did I mention the songs? The songs were amazingly majestic. Especially the one where Pinkie says "Show them the time of their lives like they've never known" and the ending birthday song. :wubs:

    I purposely made that title semi-misleading.
     
    Hey guys! So today in school we were told we were going to do a presentation about something we're passionate about. I pretty much immediately decided on game design.
     
    As I was walking up to the teacher to get my idea confirmed(there's a better word for it I just blanked), a guy asked me what I was presenting, so I was all like "lulz im doin gamez cuz im cool" and then he was all like "oh thats cool man i thot u wer guna do somthin werd lik poniz" so then I was all "That's a great idea!" and he probably scolded himself a couple of times.
     
    Anyway, I'll be doing a presentation on MLP:FiM. What I want to do is give a (very) brief history off the previous generations, summarize the main storyline of FiM, and introduce the Mane 6 and the 4 villains.
     
    Where I need your help is with the videos. I want to have one very short video for each character, of them displaying part of their personality. For example, Pinkie Pie's video could be when she sneezes confetti when she gets off the train in A Canterlot Wedding. They should be under 10 seconds if possible. :3

    Today I learned that BLUE SCREENS SUCK.
     
    NOW I HATE THE WORLD.

    So, how many of us have worked on something cool before? Now, how many of us only save every hour or so? ... Quite a few people, I see.
     
    Now, how many of us have been working on something really cool and didn't save for an hour, because of how cool it was and you got distracted, and then the Blue Screen of Death(BSOD) just comes along, says "Screw you, I never liked you. Now I'm going to destroy your past hour of work." Or better yet, when working with Adobe Flash: "I'm just going to annihilate every single BUCKING SECOND that you've spent on this project. I'll even corrupt your save just because I HATE YOUR GUTS."
     
    That's what it's like. I think BSODs are the equivalent of your computer flipping you off three hundred and seventy-two times consecutively, just because it felt like it.
     
    You know the worst part? The worst part isn't even that all of your work is gone forever. The worst part is when you're listening to music. Why, you ask? Well, this is what happens:
     
    Music: Ba dum ba ba dum do doo do dum ba bum
    You: Wow, I'm getting so much done today. I need to save after I insert this symbol...
    Music: Ba daa bum dodoo ba ma bum
    You: *pastes symbol*
    Adobe Flash: *freezes*
    You: Oh, well. Looks like I'll have to wait for it for a few seconds...
    Music: Ba dum ba BFHUNBDGCDCFVHBKVBNHVHCTMGJHN
    You: What? AH! NONONONONONONONONONONONONONONO
    ... Five seconds later...
    Computer: HAHAHA I HATE YOU SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR WORK MOTHERBUCKER *BSOD*
     
    You know it's happening, and you can't do anything to stop it. It's like being strapped to a chair while you watch a serial killer slowly murder all the people you love. You're helpless.
     
    Okay, this rant is over. I'm done.
     
    And did I mention I hate Blue Screens?

    Hey guys! So two weeks ago I began animating pony puppets in Flash, and I'd like some opinions on them. I've done seven animations total. Most of them took only a few hours or an entire day to complete, but the last one took a whole week of work.     Ah, Yoshi's Island. Fond memories for many. But not me. I've never played it before today. I know what you're thinking. How have you never played Yoshi's Island? Well, it's simple. I never had a SNES, and I hardly ever bother with playing ROMs. But then some idiot told me, "Hey, you should totally do Yoshi's Island." And then to make them feel better, I lied and told them that was my plan. >
     
    Anyway, the goal of Yoshi's Island is to get baby Mario safely to the end of the level, where another Yoshi will take over. If you take damage, Mario starts crying and makes a snot bubble (this is just an assumption) that magically fills itself with helium, making baby Mario float around. When Mario is floating around, you have ten seconds to get him back before Kamek's babies kidnap him, no matter how far away you are from the nearest castle.
     
    So this is my playthrough of Yoshi's Island. Enjoy, I guess. Or don't.
     
    After spending the first few minutes randomly jabbing keys on my keyboard to find out how to play, I figured out the basic controls. Z to jump, X to throw eggs at enemies, and A to capture enemies with your tongue.
     
    But first, can I just say how disturbing this game is? I mean, what exactly were the developers thinking when they designed it?
     
    Guy 1: Hey, you know those Mario games?
    Guy 2: Oh yeah, those popular ones?
    Guy 1: We should make Mario a baby.
    Guy 2: Hmm... And gave him a dinosaur to ride on?
    Guy 1: And there were lots of dinosaurs and they looked exactly the same except for their color?
    Guy 2: And the dinosaurs have ten foot long tongues that they use to stick to the enemies and pull them inside of their mouths!
    Guy 1: And then they can swallow them and crap them out inside an egg!
    Guy 2: And the eggs magically follow you around!
    Guy 1: Well, let's get to developing it!
     
    You get it. This game is just... wrong. However, undeniably fun.
     

    Me about to battle the Smiley Box Face boss. I'd heard dark and scary things about this boss, but I was just barely able to defeat him by jumping underneath him. After I defeated him, he decided to fess up and told me everything about making and throwing eggs, so I generously let him keep his life. I started building my army of eggs.
     

    My army of Yoshilings is complete. These six eggs and I are headed out on our quest to rule the world. Anyone or anything that stands in our way will be demolished.
     

    I recruited a boulder to assist my army and I on our journey. Unfortunately, he had to be left behind soon afterwards because of certain obstacles. His sacrifice will never be forgotten.
     

    My army and I are observing what must be a sign from the gods. After touching it, my comrade Mario was kidnapped by my own kind! However, it was just a misunderstanding. Turns out we were ultimately after the same goal; finding the most delicious cinnamon buns on the planet.
     

    Suddenly, I was ambushed by a large steel ball that resembled a dog. A Chain Chomp! There were many of them, and they were all destroying the terrain. Luckily, I barely made it through with no casualties.
     

    Yoshi is evolving!
     

    I found myself inside a castle of some sort that must not have been very well constructed, because the walls kept falling down. I barely escaped. The owner should really get a renovation or something.
     

    I encountered a dark room filled with many glowing ghosts. After several futile attempts at completing the room, I ultimately gave up and left the room.
     

    Several moments later, I was ambushed by a massive lava monster. The monster continued to idle in one spot, preventing me from continuing my quest, so I did the logical thing. I comitted suicide.
     

    Yeah, well screw you too. That was impossible.

    So, after my pal Kolth/Scoutaloo/Handsome Jack started posting his adventures on the Pokemon Emerald Randomizer, I decided to do something similar. Today, I played Super Smash TV for the SNES.
     
    Basically, Super Smash TV was a game created by some people who, no doubt, were born from Satan's anus. Why? Well, basically, the first thing they do in this game is put you into a room, and then they start sending in idiots with bats and crap. A lot of them.
     

    This is the first thing I experienced.
     
    So after a few minutes of killing and corpses mysteriously disappearing, the host of the game decides to let me live until the next round. Also, I won a car, apparently.
     
     

    This is what I see as soon as I enter the next room. WHAT IS THIS. Fortunately, the baddies were kind enough to give me a one second head start to kill two people before they all molested me, and I died. Good thing I had more than one life. On the bright side, I got a free VCR. I was well rewarded for my traumatizing experience.
     

    And then I found these yellow spinning beauties. These are what I call "Majestic Blades of Life". You get five that rotate around you, and if by chance you miss a baddie and he's coming for you, these lovely blades will destroy them for good. Sadly, I only found them this once.
     

    This is the definition of evil. Chunks bounce around, trying to shoot freaking lasers at you while you're dodging shots from the Gunners while you're avoiding the mines while you're dodging Mr Shrapnel. And that was before the Grunts came in. That was so chaotic I couldn't even risk taking a screenshot because I'd die. I died anyway. A lot. Then I got a Game Over.
     
    Basically, this game was meant for people who are A: Chuck Norris or B: Chuck Norris. I got clubbed and shot many times.

    I know I'm not normally the emotiony-feels guy, but I think I realized tonight just how amazing our fandom is. We can become best friends with complete strangers instantly. We create beautiful works of art in the form of music, drawing, games, fanfiction, animation, etc. Short story short, this is by far my favorite place to be, on the Internet and IRL. Everyone here is awesome.

    So, it's been awhile since my last blog. Unfortunately, this one isn't going to be much. It's just a joke that I added to make it longer and a link to my new Youtube channel. First off, the joke.
     
    A boy was sitting at his desk in school. He asked the teacher "Teacher, why are flamingos pink?" The teacher told him to go to to the office. When the boy got to the principal's office, the principal asked why he was there. The boy told him it was because he had asked why flamingos were pink. The principal called the police and told them to pick the boy up. When the boy got to the police station, the sheriff asked him why he was there. The boy told him it was because he had asked why flamingos were pink. The sheriff called the FBI and told them to come get the boy. When the FBI got there, they asked why the boy was there. The boy told them it was because he had asked why flamingos were pink.
     
    The FBI drove him to the White House. When he got there, the president asked why he was there. The boy told him it was because he had asked why flamingos were pink. The president sent him off on a plane to a foreign country. When he got there, a mysterious hooded man took him into his house. When he asked the boy why he was there, the boy told him it was because he had asked why flamingos were pink. The man drove him to the middle of a busy crossroad, and deserted him there.     So, I suppose some of us have heard that there's no such thing as a guide to creativity. Well, there isn't, really, I suppose. However, this is probably the closest you'll get to an actual guide. So, I'll start with my way of thinking.
     
    Literally anything can be inspiration if you want it to be. I mean anything. For examp le, that annoying chihuahua next door that never shuts up. If you think about that way more in depth than you usually would, it can easily be a great storyline. So think, in terms of fiction, why is the dog barking? Maybe it is sensing a disturbance in the earth, and is trying to warn everyone. Maybe all of the other animals are acting up, too, trying to warn their owners. If they don't get out in time, the continental plate will shift way too far, and cause an enormous earthquake that spreads through all of America and kills millions. Keep in mind I just got that idea from a barking dog.
     
    I'll use a real example this time, that I came up with. Also, I think while taking a shower is the best time to come up with things like this. Anyway, I randomly imagined a teenage boy calling his dad, who was away. That's it. Next, I thought, "so why is the boy calling his dad? Hmm, maybe he wants him to come to a special occasion. Maybe a science fair or something? Yeah, a science fair. But what would be his project? Maybe... The dad is a scientist and he taught his son everything he knows, so his son invents some multidimensional machine of sorts? And, of course, it will malfunction, etc. etc.
     
    So basically, it's all about taking a single, small, simple idea, and adding even more ideas one by one until it becomes this huge mess of a web I like to call a plot. That's about all I have to say here, so have fun trying to be as awesomely creative as me.

    So, I just finished my first Minecraft challenge map today. It took a few days to make, but it was fun nonetheless. I already have plans for another, better, more in-depth map, so expect that sometime in the future. Anyway, onto the map. Almost the entire place is made of bedrock, so there's no breaking blocks. Also, halfway through the making of the map, I discovered how to use Single Player Commands to enchant items, so I went a bit overboard and gave the player overpowered weapons.     Discorded Again is making slow progress. I haven't been working on it much. Like, at all. I haven't opened it in a week, but that's just because I lost my flash drive. But I found it, and now I'm gonna finish up Chapter Four(I think...?) I remember it's about 80 or so percent finished, so I'll get to work on dat.
     
    As for Art Stuffs, I do have a couple wallpapers I've made, if you ponies wanna see dem. They're at the bottom of the page. I hope. I'd really appreciate some feedback on those because, ya know, they're kinda crappy toaster waffles.
     
    Moosics! Kinda like Elkics, but different! (Geddit? Cuz Moose and Elk are.. alike. But different. Wat.) Okay, on topic, I'm currently making a song named Pegasus Wings that sounds pretty cool so far, and it'll probably be finished in a day or two. Hopefully tomorrow, because it's my best song so far and I really want to finish it. Just ignore the fact that all my other songs suck anyway, so it may not be that impressive. *sad face*

    One Year of Ponies

    At exactly this time exactly one year ago, I was watching the pilot episode of My Little Pony. It was one of my animating pals from Flipnote Hatena that introduced me to the show. I thought it was kind of strange, but I didn't think anything of it. Then one night I just got really bored and decided, why the hay not?
     
     
    I didn't think it was half bad. Of course, I had to watch the next episode to see what happened. Then I had to watch the next episode to see what the rest would be like. Then I had to watch the next one because I was completely addicted at that point. And that's the story of how I watched the first two seasons of My Little Pony in two weeks.
     
    A few months later, I found this forums when I was in Social Studies class supposed to be working on a project. I decided to make an account later. And that's the story of my entire life!
     
    I want to thank Lauren Faust and everyone else who worked on the show, and also everyone(yes, everyone) on this forum for changing my life drastically, undoubtedly for the better.

    So, we've all gone and watched FlamingoRich's biggest project, Double Rainboom, right? Everyone seems to have varying opinions on it, yet only mine matters, so sit down and shut up.
     
    ...
     
    Nah, I'm only joking. I just wanted to let everyone know what I thought, because I know deep down inside, everyone cares about my opinion. No joke. So, let's begin.
     
    CAUTION: SPOILERS AHEAD
     
    Animation
     
    So, the animation. Personally, I haven't seen many pony videos, but this was the best animation I've seen in terms of- well, everything pony. My favorite part of the visuals were the special effects(the Double Rainboom was beautiful ) Like I said, the animation was pretty good, yet it still wasn't completely show accurate. The example that keeps appearing in my mind is when Twilight says "Careful; it might be dangerous!" The way she moves her hoof during that clip doesn't look like anything the show would do; it looks like she's having a muscle spasm in slow motion.
     
    Basically, the animation was decent, the special effects were amazing, but the ways the ponies moved weren't 100% show accurate. 23/30 points
     
    Plot
     
    What. The. Heck. This episode was supposed to be about how Rainbow Dash destroys Ponyville because of her amazing Double Rainboom! All of a sudden she's with the Powerpuff Girls? I mean, I have nothing against the PPG, but I never watched it. (Though from what I gathered from the episode, Bubbles is my favorite character, hands down)
     
    Sure, I understand that this is a fan made episode, and references and memes are guaranteed, but an entire half of the episode is just about the PPG chasing Rainbow Dash around? That's lazy writing, and it seemed like it was nothing but filler content, just so they could make it half of an hour.
     
    All in all, the plot was a mess of a tornado on crack and steroids. I thought they could do a better job here. 10/25 points

    The music was, to say the least, 100% amazing. Nothing less. Probably something more. I absolutely love the msuic. I have no complaints there whatsoever. 15/15 points

    Given that this was an entire episode created by the fandom, I expected a lot more that would make me laugh. There were two, maybe three scenes that even got a smile out of me. Scootaloo crashing into the chicken sign, Derpy Hooves and the pots, and the PPG's reactions to Rainbow Dash. (Bubbles :wubs: ) 7/10 points

    I'm going to be honest, the timing in this episode was pretty bad. The entire time, scenes that should've taken a few seconds felt like they took minutes! The entire thing was dragged out. 3/10 points

    Hello, everypony! So, a few days ago I decided to try out making a simple PMV(Pony Music Video) in Windows Movie Maker 2.6. I'd like some opinions on it, because it took me quite a while to make this. I actually got the Blue Screen of Death the first time I attempted to export it.     Hai everypony. I made myself a neat little blog. And I'm adding letters into a big white box. It's quite interesting. Okay, so I made this blog so I could update on random things and people could actually see it. Yay. Also, my *fire hydrant* blogs will have some randomness included, free of charge. So enjoy them. Or potatoes will happen. Alright, let's get serious for just a moment.
     
    First, I wanna start off with writing. I haven't been too motivated to write lately, probably because I've recently been making arty stuffs. (more on that further down) Discorded Again hasn't gotten an update in four days. That may not seem like a long time to you, but I'm almost finished with Chapter Three, and it's kinda killing me inside that I'm too lazy to write those last few paragraphs. Stupid brain. Wants me to draw ponies instead of write about them. Hmph. Speaking of brains, few know what my thought process is. It goes a bit like this: PONIES PONIES PONIES PONIES PONIES PONIES WRITE PONIES PONIES PONIES EAT PONIES PONIES PONIES DRAW PONIES PONIES PONIES PONIES I should probably be doing homewo-NO! PONIES PONIES PONIES... et cetera.
     
    So, my artistic skills. They blind others with their awesomeness. Of failure. Yes, you read right. Their awesomeness of faiure. Decipher that for me. So, I've made two little wallpapers in the last 24 hours. A Derpy Wallpaper and a Pinkie Pie Wallpaper. IT'S MY FEEDBACK AND I WANT IT NOW! But seriously, some opinions on those would be nice.
