Wait, When did America ever create an anime?

And not only that but the show in general is pretty much just a halfassed attempt at anime. That's not to say that it sucks. It doesn't. But it still doesn't hold a candle to real anime. America tried but at the end of the day they just couldn't replicate Japan's greatness.

Also I'd still say that Avatar, besides being a top tier show in general, is better than 95% of anime out there(I'd say Megas XLR but that was more of a parody)

Zero from the Megaman series. I love him as a character

But I hate how much of a hard-on Keiji Inafune had for him, to the point where he hijacked the series from a character fans already loved just after his first bloody game, and still wound up getting his own franchise regardless

The only games after X1 that actually felt like it was still about X was Command Mission and Maverick Hunter X, a spin-off and a remake for fuck's sake

I still need to beat the first one. I'll give it a shot after I beat it

lol I remember seeing a similar situation with Korra where on one of its trailers someone literally said "where's the subbed version? I don't want any of this dubbed shit" to the collective facepalms of Avatar fans everywhere

Well not everyone speaks Japanese or likes watching the bottom of the screen to read what the characters are saying when the actions playing. Me, I watch a lot of Kung Fu films, so I'm used to it and I know what you are getting at. Even if the English dub is there, I'll eschew it. 

 

The thing is though, not everyone is you or me, and animation is different than live action in many ways. Dubbing included.

I think that's a different beast all together. The best thing about animation is that it's not real, so animated shows/movies can be adapted into any language without much problem, at least as long as skilled people handle it. When it's live action on the other hand it just feels very jarring to hear it in any language other than the original, and a lot of it is because they're dubbing it over real people instead of animated characters, and, at least for me, it feels really uncanny

It's a western webseries made by a very small team on a very limited budged. Considering what they have done with the series is nothing short of fantastic given the limitations.

Also just because people give dubs a hard time doesn't mean they're right. 90% of the time the snobs that piss and moan about dubs usually only do it because they're allergic to anything that isn't Japanese, and I can guarantee that the majority of people complaining don't even know Japanese aside from "kawaii", "senpai" or "kunichiwa"

I've seen genuinely bad dubs and more often then not they are rife with bad lip syncing, and often change the source material to the point where it's not the same anymore, and bad voice casting(and I'm not talking about "voices I don't like so it sucks" bad, I'm taking about "why the fuck does Megaman X sound like a 5-year-old girl?!" bad). Most dub criticisms never go beyond "ewww English"

That's not to say that it sucks. It doesn't. But it still doesn't hold a candle to real anime. America tried but at the end of the day they just couldn't replicate Japan's greatness.

Also I'd prefer you not down play western animation while chalking up anime like it's the greatest thing ever. It you look like a really biased fanboy

Yeah I don't ever see that happening unless they decide to make a Hasbro-themed Theme Park, which is not happening any time soon. I mean they barely got a Transformers themed attraction at Universal Studios, and that's arguably their top franchise

There's pics of me floating around in my Facebook but it's usually way out of my control and usually taken by a friend or relative(not only that but there's little no solo pics of me so I'm inclined to post pics even less). As for posting pictures of myself on forums, I rarely ever do it unless I'm feeling comfortable enough both with the picture and with the forum, which has only ever happened in one forum

Scootaorphan, Scootaloo has an abusive family, or anything that involves Scootaloo having a morbidly depressing backstory just because the show hasn't introduced her parents yet

lol she's written some of the best episodes in the entire show. Since she's not working on MLP right now and I don't know what else she's on, I hope she decides to come back eventually. I mean, Hillenburg's back too

I love Band Geeks, but Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy V is easily the better episode imo. The only episodes better are Wet Painters, Krusty Krab Training Video and Chocolate with Nuts

That's a pretty damn ridiculous thing to say. I don't think anything can touch the 6th gen consoles(my favorite gen of consoles) but I still had a blast with the Ps3/360/Wii/Wii U(don't own a PS4 or Xbone yet) and think they're great consoles

A predictable Rumble, totally called Trips winning. But it was significantly better than the last two so I can forgive it. I just wish they didn't tease us with Ambrose. would've marked out if he won. And I was hoping Bryan would show up :/

I've seen this list a while back and thought it was absolutely terrible, with too much focus on suddenly important out-of-nowhere new characters I don't give several flying feathers about

I haven't been following football in a while so I don't know who's still running other than the Patriots. Then again, I don't start paying attention to football until January, Super Bowl month.

If they're still in it I'll probably be rooting for the Patriots anyway

No because they sound impractical for people, and it'd be dumb and embarrassing especially for the kid. 

Honestly I don't have a problem with people naming their kids after fictional or cartoon characters, just as long as they stay in the realm of reason. Naming your kid Twilight Sparkle, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, or Megatron is a stupid idea that will no doubt result in your kid getting bullied, but naming them after, say, one of the Simpsons, Harry, or Rocko(or even some pony names like Luna or Lyra) should be fine since those are still frequently used and accepted names regardless of fame(and they were widely used before anyway)

I still think naming your kid Anakin is really pushing it though

It's a fandom full of people you either want to be friends with or want to pedigree Marty-Garner-Style

Yu Gi Oh and DBZ seem to be the ones that have really "got it" and a lot of that has to do with a lot of people supporting it, so they tend to get some better production values down the line. 

And while I've never seen them myself, I've heard some good things about Sailor Moon Abridged and Naruto Abridged

It's alright, but I think .Hack does the MMO anime concept a ton better

The MLP movie doesn't stand a chance against Star Wars, but as Mesme already said, it's a good month and a half apart so it should be perfectly safe
