  1. The PSP was actually an EXCELLENT handheld. With the balance of power under the hood, the ability to play PS1 and a good handful of titles (not as many as the DS) I'd say it was probably Sony's best handheld, and may end up being their only successful one.

PSP is easily one of my most favorite Handhelds ever(bumping heads with the 3DS). I'm still really sad neither it nor the Vita did much well outside of Japan, so many overlooked gems on those things

That is not true at all. Does it not occur to people that not every old game was good? Seriously go play Lester the Unlikely on the SNES, I assure you that even Star Wars Battlefront (2015) blows that out of the water.   There's probably only like 10% of old school games that actually stand up in terms of fun factor and play-ability today that new games have. We think about all the classics but we forget how many thousands of other games are trash and aged poorly. Like Chrono Trigger definitely stands up today as a great title, but there is no way that Ballz 3D can even compare to Fallout 4. Fallout 4 blows that shitty game out of the water.   I think when a game is so fun you want to play it again was the only way TO get replay value back in the day because we didn't have much space to work with. Now though developers can easily give us over 100 hours of gameplay and that's not necessarily a bad thing when done correctly. I have been clocking insane hours into Dying Light because there is so much to do in the game and the fun factor is there. I mean I've played Chrono Trigger 12 times and I can honestly say that even 100%ing the game does not give me as much time as I have clocked into Fallout 3. I think it's good that developers are trying to make the $60 we spend on a game be worth it.

When you think about it, the thing about a lot of older games, and a big reason why I don't think a lot of them don't hold up as well now, is because a lot of them relied on being insanely hard(or more accurately, being cheap) to increase the longevity and consumers would keep playing. When I play a lot of NES games now, apart from a few titles like Punch Out!, the Mario series and the Megaman series, I find my self getting annoyed and frustrated rather than actually having fun due to the games being unreasonably brutal. I like difficulty and challenge. But I don't like games repeatedly smashing my balls with a sledgehammer. By the time I made it to the 4th Gen consoles(SNES/Genesis) I found a lot of the games infinitely more fun and enjoyable.

It may have acceptable back then, but with how gaming has advanced, the NES era is an era that I don't feel holds up well much, if at all. Games may be a lot easier now, but I'd argue that they are a ton more fun than a lot of games at the earlier times

  2. I didn't see wrestling much this last year aside from the from Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania, with a couple of matches in between. I never saw Bayley vs Sasha Banks, but it must be good if it's seriously considered a match of the year.

Of all the matches I saw this year, I'd say my favorite was Lesnar Vs Taker at Hell in a Cell. It was also the only recent HiaC besides Trips vs Taker(WMXVIII) that actually felt like a Hell in a Cell match

Was it Cena vs. Lesnar vs. Rollins good?

This one was really good too. Despite that PPV being lackluster, that match alone made it worth watching

  3. I'm pretty sure some of us have gotten so called "Special/Collectors" editions of games, movies, books, or anything you were a fan of. However some CEs can often leave some underwhelmed, especially if you were paying a premium price for it, while others have given more bang for your buck.

For example, I really liked the Collector's Edition for Xenoblade X, the artbook was an actual artbook, I got a really nice art card with it(still need to get a frame for it though :P) and the USB it gave doesn't feel cheap, and it came with most of the game's songs. Only thing I didn't like about it was that the songs are stuck on the USB(meaning I can't rip them into my computer for some dumb reason) and that it didn't come with a Steelbook like the PAL copy of the game did

Another good one I got was the Persona Q CE. Along with the usual Soundtrack and artbook, it also came with its own 3DS case(which I still like to use) and a set of Persona-themed Tarot cards, which I thought was really cool. Again, only thing I didn't like was the soundtrack, which only had one song

One I regretted was for Call of Duty Ghosts Hardened, which I actually got discounted for $20. Besides Ghosts sucking, the soundtrack was not only digital, but I could only get it on the game's website where it was taken down by the time I bought it(though that's probably my bad since I bought it late, and the OST was nothing to write home about either), and the bracelet it came with felt like a cheap gumball machine toy.

What were some CEs you were more than satisfied with? What were some you regretted getting?

  4. The way they've handled Gohan post Cell is probably the biggest screw up in the entire series(yes even more than GT), especially after years upon years of build up of his power that depresses me that they've turned him into a complete joke(and this is coming from someone who loved his Great Saiyaman shtick early on), and is part of the reason why I haven't cared much for the series post Buu(not to say that the Buu Saga wasn't bad, it had a ton of great moments, but it was my least favorite saga in Z)

As for the animation, it's an unfortunate result of Japan's insane demands on animation more than anything. This video does a better explanation than I could though

  5.

Timesplitters. Gimme a HD collection. Or something. Anything. I never got to experience online multiplayer which I hear was amazing.

People have been asking for Darkstalkers 4/Vampire Savior 4 for a while. The characters are familiar enough. Morrigan & Felicia are ambassadors of the franchise. Either a BlazBlue level of animation brilliance or a 3D fighter along the lines of Dead Or Alive or DBZ: Budokai would be welcome. We haven't had a new console game since '97.

Star Wars: Republic Commandos- A pretty gritty FPS from the POV of the clone troopers. Ahead of it's time in a few regards. HD remake!

Crimson Skies- Sky pirates during the great depression. Who doesn't want that?

Oh my god I can't believe I forgot these, definitely franchises I want to see more of

Other games I'd love to see:

    Rival Schools

    Star Wars Rogue Leader

    Megaman Legends

    Viewtiful Joe

Hell I think my list would consist of tons of Nintendo and Capcom properties that could use a second life

  6. Star Wars Battlefront II (2005)

    -Space battles

    -Campaign Mode

    -Galactic Conquest

    -Clone Wars

    -64-player battles

    -20 maps

    -15 Heroes/Villains

    -No DLC nonsense

    -Completely finished when released

    Star Wars Battlefront (EA)

    -Sexy graphics

    -No space battles

    -No campaign mode

    -No galactic conquest

    -No Clone Wars

    -Only 40-player battles

    -Only 12 maps

    -Only 6 Heroes/Villains

-DLC that costs almost as much as the game

-Unfinished state, but still launched with $60 price tag

    EA gonna EA.

Basically this. The whole "it's not a sequel, it's a reboot!" argument is a load of bollocks, the current gen version of the game has significantly less content(and leaving out tons of features people loved about the BF2 like Galactic Conquest) than the game two Battlefronts before it, which was released two generations ago, that alone should tell you something. And that fact that they're charging double for the full experience when the game's not even worth half it's normal price is ridiculous(but par the course for EA). There's also the fact that they refuse include more content from TFA(aside from Jakku) despite them using the new movie's hype train for the game to ride on. And even if they decided to stick with the OG trilogy only, they could still use a ton more content from that than what they've currently have in the base game

Yes the game looks gorgeous and sounds amazing, but has history has proven time and time again, visuals and sounds don't make the game

  7. Figured they'd be traveling somewhere this time as it also fits with S6's exploring Equestria theme, though whether it's a summer vacation, camping trip or something else is still up in the air.

This makes me more excited though, it'll be interesting to see what else is out there in Humanland, besides they can only keep using CHS for so long

Either way I'm pretty stoked. Because, of course, it means we get new sexy villains. Despite the fact I really want the Dazzlings back.

Judging by the teaser, Kylo Ren definitely fits the bill

  8. I'm personally okay with this.

Not only because I know it would have been a WAR and not a discussion.

But also because it could have alienated some little kids. Sure lots of little kids identify with characters of difference races than them. I did when I was that age. But from what I've read, some don't. I think the technicolor skin is ugly as hell, but I'd rather do without more "discussion" (read "screaming") about race.

Yeah, I agree with this too. If Derpibooru and Tumblr taught me anything, it's that when it comes to mixing race into the humanized mane 6 it always spells disaster and will cause everyone involved to be at each others throats. I mean there are examples of mixing races being well received(a lot of people tend to like Black Twilight or Hispanic Rainbow Dash), but most of the time it's bound to be a controversial topic

I agree with body types though, though I feel it's because FiM was hit with a similar problem too. I remember a while back that Lauren Faust originally intended for the ponies to have different body types(i.e., Fluttershy being skinny and frail looking, Pinkie being chubby, AJ being muscular), but she had to tone it down for the toys. I'd figure it was the same for EQG. I mean all things considered, with what they had to work with I think DHX did a lot better with the EQG designs than I would've expected, but I do wish DHX would stick to their guns and make character designs the way they'd see the characters

  9. Baby AJ>Baby AJ 2(only by a hair)>Cake Twins>>>>>>Whatever the hell that thing in MMDW was

McFlurry is another ballpark, there's a lot more wrong with her design than your typical foal, such as those ridiculously big wings

  10. Any Star Wars movie I've gotten to see in theaters is always packed and lively

Crowds for most Marvel films as well as Creed had a lot of life to them as well, I still remember hearing the audience cheering during the boxing matches in Creed

Worst is any movie with absolutely no/dead crowd or with people who don't do jack to control their kids. Case in point, my experience with Pokemon The First Movie and Yu Gi Oh the Movie were pretty awful
