  1. A series where the general plotline can be summed up in the sentence "Kirito gets all the bitches?" Sounds like pure genius to me.

Sword Art Online is pretty bad, honestly. No feasible development, the characters all fall flat, the story's pacing is ridiculously jarring...and unfortunately, it was so bad I couldn't stop watching it. Even through the incredibly awkward, completely sickening second season. The trouble is, if I got really bored, I'd probably watch it again.

    I'm insane.

  2. I usually listen to an album through alternative means and then buy it if I like it at all. Or, if I get really into a band, I'll take the completist route and just buy everything they've ever released. As is the case with:

    The Beatles

    Please Please Me ------------------------------------------- Meh

    With the Beatles --------------------------------------------- Terrible

    A Hard Day's Night ----------------------------------------- The film's decent...

    Beatles for Sale --------------------------------------------- Boring

    Help! ---------------------------------------------------------- Still Boring

    Rubber Soul ------------------------------------------------- Pretty Good

    Revolver ------------------------------------------------------ Whoa

    Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band ---------------- HOLY FUCK :D :D :D

    Magical Mystery Tour -------------------------------------- Amazing!!!

The Beatles (The White Album) -------------------------- Okay.......

Yellow Submarine ------------------------------------------- Well, there's "Hey Bulldog"

Let It Be ------------------------------------------------------- Well, there's...nope, this is pretty bad.

    Abbey Road -------------------------------------------------- Damn!

I own all of that on CD plus the Past Masters compilation (which is good as it serves for a compilation of their singles, not as an actual album work), and Pepper on Vinyl. Then I got into Pink Floyd, and the albums I own from them so far are:

    Pink Floyd

The Piper at the Gates of Dawn -------------------------- Nice

    The Wall ------------------------------------------------------- Nice

I own Piper digitally and I own The Wall on CD.

Those are all of the albums I own, but I've also listened to some full albums from Jean Michel-Jarre (Equinoxe, Magnetic Fields, and Rendezvous) and Vangelis (Antarctica). As an added mention, I have Michael Jackon's Dangerous in a closet somewhere collecting dust. From what I remember of it, I think it was his best album. However, last time I heard it I must have been 10. On top of all that, I also (obviously) own all of the free-for-download albums my band has released and has yet to release, but I'll try not to promote myself at the risk of sounding like a pompous asswipe. I do that fine by myself, thank you very much.

  3. So then MLP would be rated TV-MA.

No? You can have bangs in a TV-Y cartoon, it's just a hairstyle.

    ....

What did you think I meant?  :wat:

But all I did was list "customers" and "fans" in alphabetical order for some OCD-like reason.

I'm saying that "customers" shouldn't be a factor in considering whether or not you end a show. You (should) stop producing a series when you're done telling your story, not continue "to sell toys."

  4. How you became a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic:

    ....... I really can't explain.

    Good enough. You're hired. B)

    Welcome to the forums.

  5. The show's been on a downhill course since season four, arguably season three. Her absence might be one determining factor, but I stand by my position that we're screwed regardless.

Meh, I was slightly disappointed with some of the episodes because they were just boring for me. But that's just me, not you. :P

You're not really missing much, honestly. Some major continuity events occurred this season, but virtually all of them were handled sloppily. I won't spoil anything for if you ever decide to watch it. There's only a couple of really good episodes this season, proof of the direction of the series. I will recommend the best episode of this season, though: "Canterlot Boutique." Exceptional writing even by season two's standards, with a really clever and unique moral. Give it a try if you have the time.

  6. Because they are a group dedicated to friendship and one of them by order of Celestia (high ruler of the land) I just thought I might be nice to see that there is't just a handful of people in the whole kingdom that would actually help someone?

"Winter Wrap Up," "Over a Barrel" to some extent, "Hurricane Fluttershy" to another extent, "Apple Family Reunion" (actually, you could use that whole family as reference point on its own), "The Lost Treasure of Griffonstone," "Slice of Life" (doesn't even focus on the Mane Six), "Amending Fences," and "Do Princesses Dream of Magic?" all have elements of ponies other than our main characters 'helping others' without rehashing "Applebuck Season's" exact moral.

  7. We do see other ponies help each other out, but unfortunately for you, greed is a thing that exists.

It would be a good episode with a good amount of background pony's and a good lesson about accepting help when you need it or a lesson about not always being able to do everything.

That is literally the moral of "Applebuck Season."

  8. Not very original and incredibly forced, but I've ranted enough about this terrible episode. On top of the relation to their sisters, as I've said in my review of this episode, their cutie marks barely have anything to do with what talents were built up all series long. Over 100 hours of stories contradicting this outcome and the last three minutes of this one episode says "nope, fuck you" just to give us bland cutie marks with absolutely no conflict and no prior indication. As you pointed out, Sweetie Belle at least has a note on her shield, however, she didn't have to do any "real-world" singing for it. Even if she did, how do we make the distinction between the musical numbers that don't exist and those that do?

Award nominated best animated series here, folks.  >_>

And I imagine they wanted to avoid the conflict of having each of them get cutie marks at different times

Don't take any risks with your character dynamics. Writing at its best.

And seeing as they all have the same talent

But they don't. That's the problem! They never had the same talent! That plotline was completely phoned in for this episode alone. Previous episodes showed that they were going a completely different direction with each character, and showing the conflicts that arise when they each got their cutie marks at different times is a million times more intricate than what "Crusaders of the Lost Mark" gave us.

I'd have to disagree. Scootaloo doesn't just have a talent for riding her scooter..... she seems to be good at many other active-related things which were shown in the episode "Showstoppers" when she was better at choreography which could explain the bolt in that case.

Her being good at choreography is hinted because she rides her scooter. Stunts and tricks are choreographed, or at the very least, have a strategy of how a performance should be executed just like dancing. It's this expertise here that gives her some common sense when coming up with a performance routine. This is further perfected in "Flight to the Finish."

I love the shields. It shows cutie marks reflect the journey to earn them. It's better to be defined by the bonds you carry with others and the journey you took with them....than to ONLY be defined by what you're good at.

That's fine, that's completely fine. As I've said before, I'd have absolutely no problem with any of this.......if there was any build-up. The cutie marks were phoned in, not just as concepts, but into the episode as well. This arc should've been a completely separate episode from the "Pip wants to be school president, Diamond Tiara's life sucks" story. At least then there would be expansion to this plot-line and a separate episode could reaffirm it. "Magical Mystery Cure" even had this much dignity.

  9. This has got to be one of the weirdest, most complex, most intriguing, most fun to play on piano/keyboard, and the most underrated song off of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, of the Beatles' catalog, of the sixties, and dare I say, of all-time. My favorite song right here!

(Sorry, this is one of the only videos of the song on YouTube right now. The others recently got take down)

  10. I tried to look at the episode critically in the end, and I was quite uninterested in the events...

...up until the Beatles reference sequence...

...I couldn't after that. That was it. I couldn't think of anything else for the rest of the episode. F**k you, MLP. That was too glorious. F**k you, F**k you, F**k you.
