    That was most certainly a thing. Now the question is, what kind of a thing was it?
     
    On the one hand, we now have all sorts of things that have become canonical. Yes, we already had "Alicorn" in show from Magic Duel, but only with Magical Mystery Cure do we have a confirmation that Alicorn is used to refer to Winged Unicorns.
     
    On the other hand, Twi is now a Princess. A princess with stewardship over what, exactly? Celestia has stewardship over the day, Luna over the night, and Cadence presumably over love. How can Twilight be a princess and not be the princess with stewardship over magic?
     
    Also, what do you think the odds will be that she'll fall in love with a plumber from Manehatten?

    Experimentation

    So our family recently got Netflix - I have an account (mine is the one we're putting on the Wii), and my dad has an account as well.
     
    My mom is into animation (not quite on the level that I am at, but she shows interest in a wide variety - mostly sci-fi, though), so I tried a little experiment.
     
    I started with Trigun. Then went to Fullmetal Alchemist (I got lucky here - it was the episode "Mother", which basically answered every question she had as it went along). Then I jumped into Pony. So far she's seen the second and third acts to Bridle Gossip, as well as most of Baby Cakes (she was out of the room for the third act due to dinner).
     
    She showed a degree of interest in all three. I think we may develop another pony fan over the next few months.

    STRENGTH: Average
    AGILITY: Above Average
    FORTITUDE: Average
    CONFIDENCE: High
    INTELLIGENCE: Average
    CUNNING: Above Average
     
    ...yeah, not much to say here. I can't justify making any of her stats below average due to the fact that she's a somewhat successful adventurer/archaeologist. I brought her confidence down from Very High to High, but somehow that doesn't feel right.

    Pony Stats

    The core stats and examples of what the stats do.
     
    STRENGTH: Physical ability, raw power. The higher the strength, the more a pony can carry. Earth Ponies tend to be stronger than Pegasi or Unicorns.
    AGILITY: Physical ability, primarily speed. The higher the agility, the faster a pony can move. Pegasi tend to be more agile than Earth Ponies or Unicorns.
    FORTITUDE: Both Physical and Psychological. The higher the fortitude, the more resilient a pony is (and a pony with high fortitude will be less likely to panic at the onset of a crisis)
    CONFIDENCE: Both Physical and Psychological. The higher the confidence, the more successful a pony will be at their abilities (and a confident pony is less likely to panic as a crisis unfolds)
    INTELLIGENCE: Psychological ability, primarily comprehension. The higher the intelligence, the smarter a pony is. Unicorns tend to be more Intelligent than Earth Ponies or Pegasi.
    CUNNING: Psychological ability. The higher the cunning, the more "street smart" a pony is.
     
    EXAMPLE:
     
    Golden Plate (Earth Pony)
    STRENGTH: Above Average
    AGILITY: Average
    FORTITUDE: Very High
    CONFIDENCE: Below Average
    INTELLIGENCE: Average
    CUNNING: Below Average
