Steel sighed recognizing the pony almost instantly "lily out your sword away and get out of here" steel said taking a purely definsive stance "he's part of the third hierarchy of hell the demon lord of cruelty Oliver once an archangel we have no chance of winning" steel sighed "run don't look back I'll hold him off as long as I can" Oliver smirked pulling out a flaming whip cracking it off to the side a burst of fire shooting from the tips

Steel stopped as she did snapping out of thought he moved hi wing in front of her "back up" he whispered to lily pulling his Sword of his back a low growl escaping his mouth a tall alicorn stepped out of the shadows wearing a cloack with depictions of many cruel acts on it a sneer on his face

Steel kept walking deep in thought he didn't even notice the evil presence in that was thrity or so feet In front of them hidden in the shadows something that was out of character for him he wrapped his wing around lily still blushing as he walked

Steel blushed and began walking again deep in thought trying to figure out what just happened and what it alll meant he walked but didn't really pay attention not even to then questions about the town or the monster alll of his focus was on llily

Steel looked at her and whispered "that's what I mean" he was still blushing he gave a slight cough and looked around "we umm should get back to looking around" he said not sure what to say or do he shifted his weight to the other side looking at her he felt nervous

Steel moved to stop her "you didn't mess up anything lily" steel said standing in her path he wasn't sure what to say he had messed up bad and didn't know what to do so he leaned in and kissed her on the lips he was blushing a lot his face more red them grey at this point

Steel stopped he hadn't realized he'd been speaking "no lily I did like it I'm just confused you're a nice mare and you're beautiful and well I'm a demon a hell spawn naturally evil why would you kiss somepony like that" steel said he was rambling and didn't care he didn't mean to offend her

Steel smiled at her as they walked he glanced around and seem nothing of interest "something doesn't add up if there's a beast that was awoken and is sleeping in the mines the town should have blocked it off to keep ponies out and why would the mayor and the family leave while the other ponies stayed and why would you kiss a stallion like me" steel said he had been thinking out loud and didn't even realize it

Steel smiled and blushed as she kissed his cheek it made him falter and he didn't recover as gracefully as he had last time he just hoped she wouldn't say anything about it he wasn't sure what was going on between them but he didn't want it to stop -maybe I can have this- he thought

Steel nodded "I was worried about you" steel said when she nuzzled him he blushed slightly and enjoyed it "most ponies just fear me and run off the only pony to truly worry about me is Astrid" steel said he opened a wing and out it around her effectively hugging her for a moment before refolding his wing away

Steel looked at the ground "I was worried about you" he whispered "and I felt something touch me I didn't know what it was" he said" I failed to keep watch through the night and somepony could have gotten hurt because of me" he kept walking looking down blushing more

Steel sighed "I'm not going to hurt you lily and that incident was a little uncalled for yes but I'm so used to ponies trying to kill me and my daughter that even when I sleep I'm tense plus I was kinda worried about another pony last night" steel said with a slight blush

Steel thought for a moment "I don't come up north very often so I'm not sure although I do know that imps from the ninth ring would feel right at home here" steel said "any demon form the ninth ring in fact" he had noticed the odd face "umm quick question what's with the odd expression" he asked

Steel smiled "well I know of a few things that would like to get a hold of you" steel said "but I'll stop them if they try" steel smiled as he walked -I've been smiling an awful lot lately- steel thought -that's odd Demons don't smile why am I smiling so much? What's different now then all the other times I've hunted?- he lost himself in thought as he walked -lily she's the only thing that's different is either her or simplely being with another pony-

Steel faltered for a moment as she nuzzled him he played it off as though he hadn't almost missed a step he kept his cool and looked at the entrance "that's odd I figured it'd be borderd up or something" steel said as he pulled out a large coil of twine and tied one end to a pole "alright now we can explore with out worrying about getting lost oh and don't worry I don't use bait" he said

Steel smiled "don't worry I won't be to tired to protect you" steel said as she stepped closer smiling and blushing slightly "if anything big mean and scary comes along I'll take care if it for you" steel said not even thinking of how it sounded he smiled happily as he walked

Steel smiled "I'll be fine lily" he said he felt nervous and had butterflies in his stomach and he wasn't sure why -could it be because she so close to me right now-steel thought as he walked -I need to get his mare out of my head I'm half demon I have no time for this stuff- he thought no really convincing himself

Steel sighed "don't sell yourself short lily" steel said "you'd be surprised most stallions are waiting for a mare Like you" steel said as they walked steel checked a his Map making sure they where headed in the right direction he noticed lily shiver and created sometime manipulating it to his back "if your cold you can walk close to the fire"he said

Steel nodded "you'll find a stallion that will or hell find you" steel said as they left the blacksmith "I have everything I need so unless you need anything form anywhere we can get started checking out the mine" steel said as they walked he wanted to make sure she had everything she needed

Steel nodded "that's the way it'd should be a mare worth having is worth the effort" steel said "and a stallion worth having is willing to put in that effort" steel said as he took the daggers and placed them in his bags "I've gotten what I need is there anything you need or want" steel asked lily

Steel nodded "she was that bad" steel said "and if he felt you wasn't worth his time then he wasn't worth yours" steel said as they approached the black smith steel made his order and paid him then turned to lily "you'll find a stallion that's worth your time and you'll know when you find him at least that's what I've been told about mares"

Steel nodded and began to walk again "so he left because he didn't have time for you" steel said "how foolish even though I hated her I was still there for astrids mother when she needed me" steel said "and that's saying something" -for more then one reason-he thought

Steel glanced over at her he could feel her fear "so he left huh well why would a stallion leave a mare like you" he said bridge he even realized what he was saying he looked forward hoping that she wouldn't think anything if what he said -what the hell steel-he thought

Steel glanced over his shoulder "she's dead" he said "it was an arranged married and I tried, I tried hard to not hate her but I couldn't do it she was so uppity and prissy" he said his voice dripping with venom "after Astrid was born her parents took us on a vacation while there I got a job and she wanted to go with me and see how I got paid so well while we was out there the beast went after her" he smirked "and I saw an out for me and Astrid I could raise her right and teach her how I defend herself so I let the beast take get her killed the beast and got a bad wound on my chest went home told her parents she followed me on my hunt and I tried to save her but failed after that I took Astrid and she now lives with me and my family on the family grounds"
