I just want to chip in that, if the episodes had not been up on Youtube to begin with or otherwise easily available online, I never would have started watching the series to begin with - and just this weekend I went and saw Equestria Girls in a theater (not to mention all the other pony stuff I've spent money on in the meantime). How many others would have a similar story here? Of course I want to support the creators of shows I like, but is it really to their net benefit to make sure nobody sees it without paying first? Well, sorry - it is NOW, now that the fandom is already established and spreading the good pony word on its own. It wasn't a few years ago, when it was just a kid's show getting some extra attention. To me, the fact that Hasbro didn't care before but is cracking down now makes them come across as rather a fair-weather friend to their fans. I understand that business is business, but business is good right now so why push things? That's all.
