  1. @@NocturnalRainbow,

"Well, that`s going to depend on how well you know you`re early Equestrian History." he mumbled, wondering if he`d cut himself too deep... there was abit more blood than he`d hoped for. The uniform was a little ill-fitted as well, seeming to be meant for a larger Griffin. He could hear voiced coming from behind the rock, presumeably the recon team, and took a deep breath. For all he knew, they executed prisioner`s of war on sight... he supposed this was thier best bet. "Alright. Let`s do his. It should be easy, I just have to play an angry, bloodthirsty Griffin." he said, attempting what may well be his last joke.

(so... should one of us play the recon team, or is that for the OP to act?)

  2. Vincent Stormwalker landed in front of his home, walking inside and sighing, tossing aside his satchel. The Griffon took a seat on a nearby chair, after grabbing himself a drink. Time for a rest. Vincent Stormwalker was a resident of the Griffon Kingdom, an ex-solider in fact. Offically, he`d never taken part in any battles, but... well, the Griffon Kingdom had it`s secrets. Vincent was now a simple delivery courier, delivering packages of varying importance. Griffons were well known for taking any delivery job that required the crossing of the ocean, or any other long trip. They had much more endurance than the average Pegisi, and because they could afford to avoid resting, when they did do deliveries over land, they can keep flying longer and avoid resting in dangerous areas, like the Everfree Forest. Vincent had made deliveries from everywhere, Saddle Arabia, Equestria, you name it. Vincent was smaller than the average Griffion, but he still stood a head taller than most Stallions. Even as a courier, work was dangerous. A long scar across his left eye was a reminder of that. He`d been forced to rest after flying nearly all night, due to his own carelessness, and ended up picking a fight with a Manticore....

Of course, Vincent`s rest was to be short lived, as within the next few days he got multiple request for deliveries. He flipped through them, trying to choose which one`s interesting him. He finally decided on three: One was to the city of Manehatten, the other to Ponyville, and finally, Canterlot. He could get all three done, and it would only take a couple of days. So, once he`d packed, he`d taken off.

He`d finally arrived on the outskirts of Ponyville, grumbleing to himself as he realized he`d made an error: he`d chosen to take the scenic route, which had delayed him far more than he`d had planned, and now it was far to late for him to make the trip to Canterlot. He supposed he`d have to stay in the village of Ponyville.... He landed infront of the address where the delivery was meant for, a large tree that was converted into a library/house, and oppened up his satchel, pulling out the package. Best he could tell, it was some sort of book, likely a very large one, and set it on the door step, begining to walk towards where he knew there was a place to rent a room.

  3. @@NocturnalRainbow,

Vincent was trying hard to figure out what battle this was: it could tell him who won, and thus, who they would be better off running to in hopes of blending in. Taking another, rather dangerous peak, over the rock, he saw the Griffin`s... getting pushed back... and a team of ponies, recon if he had to guess, spotting him. He quickly ducked down, thinking fast. "Fuck fuck fuck.... hang on, I got an idea." He said, grabbing a pair of bodies, one pony, one griffin, and pulling the uniforms off of them "Here.  Put this on. I`m not quiet ready to die yet, so it looks like i`m gonna have to play POW." he said, sounding like he didn`t like it one bit. He quickly dressed in the bloody and tattered uniform, sighing as he realized it was covered in too much blood to have been from him. "Gotta make it look convinceing..." he mumbled, using his talons to create a large slash across his own chest. While it wasn`t incredibly deep, it still was painful as hell. "Now for the coup de grace..." he mumbled again, punching himself in the eye with curled up talons, giving himself a black eye and swearing loudly. "Fuck! This better work...." he mumbled, before handing the colt a peice of torn cloth "Here. Tie my hands with this. It`ll make me look like a POW more, and if worse comes to worse, I can break out of it easily." he said, turning and putting his talons behind his back, so they could be tied.

(Hey, @@NocturnalRainbow, what is Nocturne? Unicorn? Earth Pony? Pegisi?)

  4. @@NocturnalRainbow

Vincent stared at the fire and death. He saw bullets flying, explosions, ponies and Griffin`s alike, laying, dieing. Some so injured they could do nothing but sqiurm. Others laid, bleeding, asking why, asking for help, praying for thier lives.  It took his mind a minute to register what was happening. He`d read about this... around 15 years after ponies and the Griffin Kingdom first made contact, scirmishes began to break out. Next thing you knew, it was a full on war. Mass casualities on both sides. There were still mixed reports on who actually declared war first... something told Vincent it was the Griffin`s... the three nations had only formed together under friendship and all that hokey, right?

Still, he didn`t have time to contemplate on a history lesson, diving behind the boulder. "Okay, this is better than the blankness... kinda..." he mumbled to himself. Another explosion went off, closer, causing his ears to ring. A hoof landed infront of them, severed from it`s owner. "Okay: what in the fuck!" he cried out. This didn`t make sense! They were in... in... nothing before! Why were they here!? How were they here!? He glanced out the rock, surveying the battlefield:

As it was to be expected, most Griffin`s were in the air, attempting to take air superiority. They had greater numbers than the Pegisi they fought, but the Pegisi were more nimble, and they had more ground support. The unicorns, mostly, seemed to be working as field medics, attempting to patch those that had fallen... he saw a few get shot regardless.... The earth ponies, aside from assisting the Pegisi from the ground, fought some of the Griffin`s that prefered to be on the ground, or had injured wings and had to.

"Dammit..." he said, hunkering back behind the rock. "What the fuck are we gonna do!?" he said, trying to think of something....

  5. @@NocturnalRainbow,

"Yeah... you`re right... if this is death, than I guess this has to be hell... it`s just so... surreal... all this whiteness... the quiet... Everywhere I look, it feels like i`m about to fall, or drive myself crazy..." He paused a moment, giving a light smirk "And don`t you mean 'mindbuck'?" he asked jokingly, knowing ponies and their fascinations with replacing words with their own lingo. "Still, maybe this is all just some bad dream... maybe some unicorn somewhere messed up a spell and destroyed the very fabric of the universe, and this is all that`s left, with but a few survivors" he mumbled, more just trying to keep his mind from thinking of anything but what the hell they were going to do for food... "Jeez... how long have we been walking?" he asked, his sense of time completely out of whack... but... it was a little better with someone else there to talk to. .

  6. @@NocturnalRainbow,

(Glad someone got the joke! And i`m not really sure... I just sorta added the not knowing just in case. As far as i`m concerned, my character remembers his life, just not what he was doing immediately before getting here).

As the colt ashed his question, Vincent gave a shrug "Not really all that much to know. We`re half lion, half eagle... we don`t like going to pony lands much, since you guys always give us crap about eating meat." Griffons were most carnivorous, being half eagle half lion, something most ponies didn`t approve of. During the early years, when Griffins first found equestria (already inhabited by the three kingdoms), that had been the first sign of bad blood... when the Griffon ambassador spotted a passing dear, tackled it and ripped it`s throat out. And then proceeded to offer some to the ponies. Not the best first impression.

Luckily, since those thousands of years before, a synthetic meat had been made, and although many Griffins flat out refused to eat 'false meat', Vincent didn`t mind it that much, and did understand why Ponies were... uncomfortable about it. "Besides that, it`s basically what you`d expect... some of us are kinda arrogant, but the same could be said about ponies."

  7. Vincent continued to run down the road, rounding corners abit quicker than he should have, occasionally having to weave through a crowd of people and getting many strange looks. He supposed he looked like a madman, running around like that. He saw the mare coming back, slowlying down abit so she could run along side him. As she explained what had happened, he cursed under his breath. "Dammit... I`ll deal with it when we get there..." he said, a few minutes later arriving in the hospital, slowing down as he entered the large medical building. "Here, take him." he said, carefully sliding the colt onto the Mare "Get him in the waiting area" he said, gestureing to some chairs, a few already full of ponies waiting for care "I`ll go get him set up." he moved up to the counter, ringing the bell. When the pony turned around, she jumped at the sight of him. "I found that stallion..." he gestured towards him with a talon "He collapsed, and has been vomitting. I brought him here. How long will he have to wait for care?"

  8. @@NocturnalRainbow

Vincent nodded. He would have said nice to meet ya to him, but it really wasn`t, given the circumstances. As the stallion stated that they should go, before they collapsed, he forced a smirk. "Speak for yourself... I almost already have..." he was considering waiting here... this all had to be a dream, right? An empty, white space like this couldn`t really exist... it was so quiet... that was what terrified him the most. The silence... every sound that was made seemed to echo across the entire vastness... and it terrified him.

Still, he didn`t want to sit around, and having found someone else... well, it was better than being alone. So, he decided to follow Nocturne. "Never met a pony with only one name before. You guys always have wierd names, like 'Shining Emblem, or Endless Sky, or Carwash Rugmuncher." he said, mostly forceing a conversation. He couldn`t bear the silence after so long, having felt like he`d been in this place for hours, so he felt the need to make abit of conversation, dispite the circumstance.

As the mare spoke, he nodded "Yeah, you`re probrably right..." he mumbled. He thought about it for a moment, and looked at her. "Look, I need to hurry. If you can, run ahead and tell the hospital i`m bringing this guy in." He said, figureing that, while he could more easily carry the stallion, the mare would probrably be able to run faster with him carrying the stallion. He took a moment to get in a good position. "hold on tight..." he mumbled, adjusting his wings in an attempt to keep him in place, before quickly picking up the speed, dashing as fast as his powerful legs could take him. While Griffin`s were strong, and had great endurance, speed on the ground could be a problem, still, the hospital wasn`t terribly far away, and he was optimistic that he would make it there shortly.

(Kinda makes you wish Equestria had phones, so you could call 9-1-1...)

  10. @,  (hey, you`re characters a unicorn, correct?)

@, (Hey, just so you know, my character isn`t flying. So you`re character isn`t really 'really high up'. He`s just on my character`s back.)

"Yeah. I`m not sure what`s wrong with him... " He mumbled. He blinked in surprise, however, when the mare offered her back to him. He smiled appreciatively, but shook his head. "Thanks, but between the two of us, I think i`m more qualified to be carrying him." he said with a small smile. He figured the big griffin would be better suited for a job than the mare "But I do appreciate it." it was kind of her to offer, atleast... he supposed she wasn`t as annoying. He`d thought of her as some sort of gossiper, that was just so curious she had to bother him.

He heard another, glancing back "Oh, hey. You`re awake. Listen, you might wanna stay still, i`m takin' you to get some help... you freaking passed out in the street!" He noticed the mare trying to comfort the stallion, looking at her and giving her an appreciative smile. It was then that the stallion threw up, causeing him to retch as it landed on the sidewalk. It didn`t feel like it had landed on him at all, but...

  11. @@NocturnalRainbow

The spec on the horizion was the only thing he`d spotted since he`d arrived. He quickly began flying towards the object, as fast as he could, his powerful wings and great endurance allowing him a long period of flight. He`d assumed that at most, it would take him 10 minutes to reach the spec. He could fly for hours, if he paced himself. Yet, soon, he could fly no more, his tired body refuseing to flap his wings anymore. He then began to run, the spec seeming just as small as before... was it smaller? It couldn`t be smaller! He tried calling to it as he ran, unsure if he could even be heard by it. He couldn`t run anymore, so he walked. Soon, all he could do was crawl... the the spec seemed no larger.

In a blink of an eye, there was a pony before him. Had Vincent had the strength, he would have tackled the pony and demanded to know what was going on. As it was, all he could do was lay there and pant, slowly forcing himself onto his feet."I`m... I`m Vincent... Vincent... Stormwalker..." he said between tired breaths. "As for... where we are... I... I dunno... last thing I remember was..." suddenly, he felt like his head had exploded, grasping the side of his skull with a talon. It hurt... it hurt to try and remember what he`d been doing before this place... all he could remember was the flapping of wings. "I... I was.... flying.... and.... and that`s all I remember..." He looked the stallion before him over "And... and who are you?" he said, continueing his heavy breathing,

  12. Vincent groaned as he laid on the ground, not wanting to move. It hurt... it hurt.... everything hurt... his bones felt like somebody had taken a hammer to his joints, his head felt like there as an angry porcupine stabbing his skull from the inside... he tried to open his eyes, but they felt so heavy... he wanted to lay there forever, and just wait for the pain to fade. He found he couldn`t do that ethier...the longer he laid there, the more the pain seemed to amplify. He slowly forced his eyes open....

    White.

White... straight above.... white... strait  below... white... all around. All he could see was white. He slowly forced himself up onto his talons and paws, looking around. "What in the fuck...." he mumbled, turning his head in all directions. Desperately looking for anything but this strange whiteness. "Hey! Where the hell am I!? Hello?" he cried, desperatly hoping for some sound... this place was utterly silent.... his voice seemed to echo across the emptiness. Unable to see an end to the whiteness, but refuseing to stay in one spot.... Vincent began walking.

  13. "Well..." Vincent said, feeling abit annoyed with the mare. He was trying to get this stallion some help, and he had to slow down to keep talking to her... but he supposed he could understand her curiousity. "Well, I was talking to him, cause he looked kinda pale. Was sweating alot.... I asked if he was alright and he just... passed out. Nopony around was doing anything to help him, so I sorta just picked him up. I`m talking him to the hospital now." he said, trying to pick up the pace a little, still lifting his wings up occasionally to steady the stallion. Vincent had appreciated the mare`s offer to help, of course, but with that ring on her horn he couldn`t see her being able to levitate the Stallion, and Vincent was strong enough to carry him on his own, albeit with some difficulty.

  14. @

He could feel the stallion moving on his back, raising his wings slightly in an attempt to keep him on. He couldn`t go full speed, out of far of causeing the man to fall off. If the stallion landed the wrong way, he could snap his neck! The hospital was still a good distance away, but Vincent couldn`t fly.... aside from his injury, that would just double the chance that the stallion on his back would slip off.... and falling from the air would be even worse...

    @,

It was then that a strange man came running up to him, blinking as she trotted up. When she spoke, he raised a brow "Thing? Oh, you mean this guy." he said, still moving but having slowed down so as to talk to the mare. "No, he`s not that heavy...." it was then he noticed the ring around he unicorn`s horn. So, she was in the city on rehibilitation. He decided not to let that bother him: she wasn`t foaming at the mouth, or trying to eat him, so he wasn`t going to judge her over that unless she gave him a reason to.

  15. "You sure, man?" Vincent asked, concern creeping into his voice. "You look kinda pale..." it was then that the colt before him collapsed to the ground, causeing Vincent to jump "Merciful Celestia!" he cried, using a pony saying from all his time living amount them. He wasn`t quite sure what to do. The nearest hospital as quite a ways away... but not seeing much choice, he used his talons to slung the stallion over his back, struglleing slightly from the wait as he headed towards the hospital. He must have seemed quite the sight: a griffon carrying an unconcious unicorn down the streets like a slab of meat... but he didn`t see many other options that didn`t involve leaveing him on the road.

  16. Name: Line 'Storm' Walker

    Rank: PVT

    Blood Type: A-

    Branch: US Army

    MOS: Infantry

    SS#: CD 9451 0221

Backround : Walker had no interest in joining the military when the war had first come around. His interest in what Germany was doing over in Europe was something he felt that they should stay out of...

Of course, they couldn`t have stayed out of it forever. The war ended up coming to them, and after hearing of Japanese planes bombing thier harbors, learning of the destruction... he had to sign up.

A side note appears in the Earth Ponies file, a psyche report:

While Pvt Walker appears all and all mentally sound, it should be noted that during training exercises he appeared to have a deeply rooted hero complex. During combat exercises, he could be seen putting the mission at risk to save squad-mates/ 'civilians'. While this could be seen as admirable, it is possible that, if put in charge of a unit, he could make a poor decision, ending in the failure of the mission/destruction of said unit. It is in my opinion that he is kept out of any form of command position.

    How`s this?

    • Brohoof 1
  17. Vincent was still quite enjoying his walk, occasionally stopping to give his wing a quick test, which always ended in him winceing. "Shit... I reeeeealy shouldn`t have done that..." he mumbled. He`d probrably have to take work off the next day, let it rest. He supposed he could miss a day of work, he had a decent collection of bits saved up, but it still bothered him. Griffins were suppose to be dependable!

    @

It was then he noticed a stallion, walking down the street looking... scared? Confused? He supposed that was the best way to describe it. He looked like a stallion confused by his own surroundings... or even himself. He walked over to him, looking at the shaken colt with concern "Hey, you alright? You don`t look so good...."

  18. Vincent noticed that the mare had slipped away, smiling softly as he left the alley. "Here`s hoping we meet again, Ms. Symphony... preferably without you attempting to rob me." he said, more to himself than anything. He still wasn`t sure why he had dashed after her like that... he supposed, perhaps, he was simply looking for an excuse to go full speed again. He supposed, more likely, was that he simply wanted to prove to himself that he could have caught her, had she robbed him of anything. Vincent had been planning on heading to the library... but now he supposed he could afford to wander around abit. That little encounter had provided all the excitement a good book could have... and he wondered what else could be going on around town. He`d befriended shockingly few people in all the time he`d lived there, outside of work... this could be a chance to wander, see whom he ran into... figuratively or literally.

  19. @,

"Heh, my apologies." he said simply, as she 'ordered' him to stop making her look bad. He watched her eye movements: he could tell she was looking around for exits. It wasn`t really necessary. He couldn`t help but chuckle as she got all offended being called a thief "Oh? Than would you prefer pickpocket? Perhaps Charming Rouge would suit you?" he said with a light laugh. "Anyway, no need to be so tense. Not like i`m here to arrest you." He said, relaxing his own body and turning back towards the alley he`d come from. "Just thought i`d see if I could catch you. It was alot of fun actually. Should do this again sometime." he said the last part with a smirk. "Oh... and I`d appreciate it if you didn`t spread around the... you know." he gestured to the satchel of books "Kinda embaressing. Anyway, i`ll see ya around, hopefully."

  20. @,

What Vincent was doing was reckless, and stupid. His doctor had warned him that if he put too much strain on it, he could never fly again, and he was already pushing his limits as it was. Yet... he was enjoying the chase far too much. He didn`t know what he would do if he caught her. That wasn`t on the forefront of his mind,  all he could think about was tracking the mare.

He watched her slip down a alley, trying to fly in, but finding his wing-span to wide. He quickly dove to the ground, much to the surprise of a few onlookers, before running into the alley way. Vincent, being half lion, had very feline like eyes, as well as very eagle like... as such, he could notice slight movements, and see better into darkness... which helped as it seemed the mare was in some shadows and stopped running. He smirked, walking over towards her. "So... Wind Symphony, huh? I`ll admit, that was a good act. Didn`t have you down for a thief." he said, almost casually.
