Discord himself said he can change reality, and given what is shown I feel calling him a reality warped is fair. He can alter the world around him and break the rules of said world.

Discord's word is garbage, his ego is larger than the universe. He did show off warping, but he also said that their friendship wasn't going to do anything

The fact remains thier efforts were being shown as pointless. Breaking off a few small pieces of the vines means little if they keep coming back and punishing you for the effort (I believe Big Mac kept on being hit on the flank).

True, but Celestia and Luna should be stronger, couldn't they at least blast them away until they could fly into the air?

Um, Applebloom and Big Mac were trying to tear up the vines and failing laughably.

I remember them taking bites out of it, the issue was that they grew back

It's still unreliable, most wikis are, especially the fanmade ones. For example, the DBZ wiki uses the English dub of the movies and presents it without saying that the Japanese version is drastically different(attacked vs destroyed a galaxy). Or even the official wiki, which added a bunch of blather about Titanosaurus being a good guy 

He also is able to move sun and moon with no effort. He can travel in time with no limitation of time. And also somehow use or create seeds that are able to disable Alicorns power.

I don't view the comics as canon, I merely pointed that thing out from the comics because some people do. And taking out the alicorns was easy, said vines were getting torn up by Applebloom and Big Mac. 

The question remains: what is the strongest thing Discord has actually done?

Defeating Celestia and Luna, but how easily remains to be seen. Since you like the comics, you'll be happy to know that in them, apparently, when Discord fought Celestia and Luna, the surrounding area was so damaged by his magic, it had to be quarantined. So at least in the comics, Discord wasn't exactly holding back

There are differing opinions on Discord's power. I have him rather weak, due to Tirek pwning him with pony power. Other have him as a universe busting badass because he hasn't shown any upper limit.

Indeed. However, that doesn't stop writers from doing it, though.

I wan't talking about Discord. Just fictional characters in general. 

Even so, you need something at least to back them up. You can't just say "Oh, this character is a universe destroying badass, but was defeated because he had a hangover and was too prideful to fight before hand"

That relies on huge assumptions for his power. I can assume that love powered Chrysalis is as strong as Discord, he never displayed anything saying it wasn't true. I could say that Pound Cake can move faster than Rainbow Dash, nothing has contradicted this

He was never threatening. He was always a kid with a machinegun who went around spraying at ant hills for the lolz. His reformation was sudden, but they seemed to be taking it seriously. Then he joined Tirek for the stupidest of reasons and then turned good within the same set of episodes 

You severely underestimate Discord. He is absolutely, 100 immune to physical damage. Tirek defeated him by stealing his magic, not through physical violence. Superman could punch Discord all he wanted, it wouldn't do a darn thing. Superman could defeat Discord, but definitely not through physical violence.

He has bodily systems as he can get sick. And even if he was immune to it, doesn't make him immune to pain, which he will be feeling. Alternatively, Superman lobotomizes him after finding his brain with X-Ray vision

Personally, I think Discord is pretty great, but that doesn't really matter here, does it? A pathetic omnipotent is still a very dangerous foe. Superman certainly couldn't just walk up to Discord and punch him out. He'd have to go about things a little more carefully. I don't know all that much about superman, so I don't know if he's capable of outsmarting Discord.   

No, he could just slug Discord in the face. Tirek made Discord look like an idiot with no effort what so ever, even paralyzing him before draining him. Superman also has super intelligence, which he really doesn't need, Discord is too cocky to actually use his intelligence effectively.

But again, he doesn't need to, he can simply punch Discord or drag him into space until he calls "uncle", all whilst dodging any of his attempts to do anything. I stand by my general belief that the most MLP can take on is a mountain range, judging by the destruction caused by Tirek and Twilight's battle. But Discord is much weaker than both of them. He's a dimestore version of Q, who is a dimestore version of Mr. Mxyzptlk

Hmm, maybe not as one sided as I thought. Still, I think Twilight would win. Ponies seem to almost have a supernatural affinity for singing.

 

About the Discord vs Superman debate, Has Superman ever fought anyone omnipotent before? Contrary to popular belief, you CAN defeat an omnipotent being, given the right circumstances.    

He's tricked a guy who I don't care to spell the name of.

Yeah, I think Twilight has this one in the bag. She lives in a world where randomly breaking into song in a normal, everyday occurrence.

Look, I am trying to offer some sort of challenge because otherwise bringing Superman into Equestria to fight anyone is stupid and pointless. Discord is the one being that could offer a real challenge but if you insist on diminishing his potential power and raising Superman's power potential it makes a fight bia and unfair.

Discord won't offer a challenge. You can't spew things about potential power when you have nothing to support your claim other than random, disjointed statements

Particularly since different writers offer sometime radically different power levels Superman and I feel allowing the Man of Steel access to everything in every comic more then justifies many people's dislike or even hate for this superhero. Be reasonable and allow some leeway or this discussion in really a waste of time.

Leeway? You use his comics after Post Crisis, that's it. What kind of leeway do you want? Do you want a handicap on his better showings? Because it's not really a win for MLP then, it's a win over a handicap

I will say, at the very least, since Discord is a confirmed homage to Q from Star Trek... he would have as much power as Q has.

Homage =/= Same power. Black Cat is a homage to Catwoman, but Black Cat has bad luck powers. Broly is a homage to the Hulk, he's much weaker

So the question is, how does the power of Mxyzptlk and Q compare and could Superman defeat Q, because I feel Discord would reasonably be just as powerful give how Q and the spirit of chaos compare so much they share the same actor.

Sharing the same actor? Really? So Raven is equal to Harley Quinn because they were both voiced by Tara Strong?

Q is an omnipotent being that can do as he pleases as long as it does not displease his peers, thus I argue is comparable in power to Mxyzptlk. As such Discord is comparable in power to Mxyzptlk and thus could defeat Superman. This is my arguement!

Q isn't omnipotent, not in the least. I don't think he's even universal

The point is moot because DISCORD IS NOT Q!

My idea exactly! I find it very unlikely that two lawful good beings would solve their differences through violence. It's much more likely that they would compete in some sort of friendly competition.  

If anything, they'd most likely be friends. That's another way to make this thread less of a stomp, make it a friendship contest to see who makes friends faster

That's actually not too far fetched. Twilight has done x offs in the past (Rainbow Rocks), perhaps this thread would be more fair if it was a sewing contest or something

So I was right then, they burn through them everyday. Interesting. It goes give a little tidbit of information on the power scaling between a regular unicorn and a strong one, it took 6 strong ones to equal 11 regular ones

Wait, if they lost their powers by doing it, how did they keep on doing it at all? Did they switch out every day for a fresh batch of unicorns? 

Not so much, each universe has its own particular set of rules. This ones happens to be that:

1: the sun and moon is the same size as ours, and

2: they orbit around the earth at the whim of the alicorns. Those are definite statements; the ones we know to be true. Not much else really matters here.

The show has multiple writers, the statement of one is hardly definitive. Even if it was, there are points when authors don't exactly act smart(Broly's creator said that they couldn't think of how to make a villain stronger)

Also, unicorns did it ancient, times several at a time and with great strain, but still. It's not like the alicorns are beyond the touch of any normal pony

For this to work, you have to use one of these

a. Equestria is huge and star gravity is nothing to it

b. There's an earth alicorn stabilizing it

c. The stars are tiny.

d. It's a fictional universe(which can backfire)

I would like to mention that the Sun "ticking" seems to be more so a product of Twilight having a melt down, not really anything else. 

Not manipulating the sun, using the energy it takes to manipulate. Using even 10% of the energy it takes to move the mass of something as large as the sun would make her techniques stupidly powerful.

Obviously, but it wouldn't be like she's tossing supernovas level blasts around.
