  1. Dang. This is probably one of the first days I have ever received more hateful comments than good ones. Feels bad pony.
  2. Thank you all so much for your kind words! And, to anypony having doubts about whether or not to deliver a speech like mine, I can not encourage you enough! I myself was inspired from speeches I saw crop up on EqD. If nopony actually went out of their way to deliver a speech, maybe doubt got the better of them, I would never have been inspired, and this speech probably never would have happened! We've got to keep the flame alive!
  3. Ah, I see your point. In retrospect, with explaining the characters, I really just said "Look, here's Pinkie Pie, but she's more than just pink. Here's what she does, and what makes her great."Again, time constraints did limit the content of that section.
  4. I don't mind too much, because what I couldn't accomplish in that classroom, I accomplished online, and got to share the love with all my bronies!
  5. None taken. Like I mentioned earlier, he did kind of beat up a guy I know consider to be my friend. In response to your post, my main point in the speech was that enjoying MLP:FiM goes beyond it being an awesome show with quality animation, jokes, and characters, I also really wanted to bring up the awesome community side of being a brony. So, I was a little biased with my allotment of time
  6. Did people treat you differently after you presented the speech? Erm, not really. My brony-ism at that point was not a secret, I was not "in the stable" as some may call it. I had MLP wallpapers on my lappy, and carried a brushable Fluttershy in my pocket at the time. People knew, and people talked, but I didn't let it bother me. No one really expected something like this Did you meet any brony friends because of the speech? Nope. The only real brony friend I have made had graduated by the time that semester of school had started, and my marefriend's sister watches the show, but isn't nearly as crazy about it as I am Did they kid at the end get in trouble? Not on that occassion, no. But he always gets into trouble. He even assaulted a kid that I now consider my friend. Yes, legal action was taken. Did you make bronies out of some of the people who saw? Nope. No one in the audience was too enthused about the speech really, though I hope they enjoyed the change of tone from all the boring topics. Related: I live in rural Missouri. It's not the most friendly place in which to admit you love watching My Little Pony. I was not scared of being bullied, as I'm not really a target per se, but I have been called names and the usual stuff. It didn't bother me then, and it doesn't bother me now. [sTOIC BIG MACINTOSH] Though, by the video alone, there have been comments along the lines of "this guy gave me the courage to be a brony", so I guess I have succeed on the internet front. Honestly, I didn't expect anyone in the audience to actually to watch the show. I delivered the speech to profess my love and apprecition for the show, and to share it with all of you How do you feel about being praised as a badass in the brony community? I'm not going to lie, it is a very nice feeling. I absolutely love opening my inbox and seeing you all's loving comments. It has turned sad days completely around sometimes. Would you mind if we used samples from your speech to make a PSA trying to convince people to give it a chance? Not at all, as proper credit and sourcing is done. I would happy to help and provide any assistance in a project of that nature. Thank you all again! - Parker
  7. Hello everypony! It's me, fyeahrainbowdash13, the brony who delivered the speech, the brony in the video that this thread was made in honor of! Let me give my thanks to Dragonshy for starting this thread, and leading me here to the MLPForums, and also to all of you for your views and interest. I greatly appreciate it. When I got the idea for this speech, I first had to go through a little bit of a challenge in just asking my teacher if she'd be okay with me delivering it. After some hemming and hawing, and after I delivered an outline to her showing the basic structure of the speech, she agreed to let me perform it. I had no idea how big it was going to get. After I submitted it to EqD and it hit 1,000, I freaked out. When it hit 2,000, I freaked out. I even thought it would peak around 3,000. Now look at it. I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am to all of you. Thank you all so much. I guess while I'm here, I can field some questions any of you may have. Thanks again! - Parker
