On my way to Saint Ives I met a stallion with seven wives,
And each wife had seven sacks, in each sack seven cats
And each cat had seven kits.
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives.
How many went to Saint Ives?
Ooh, I know, I know! Pick me!
Just 1, you. The rest are all coming FROM St. Ives.
Here's one. You're in a room with two exits, one blue door, one red door. At each door stands a guard, in a blue or a red uniform, depending on which door they stand in front of. One door will lead to certain doom, the other to freedom. You know that one guard will always lie, and the other will always tell the truth, but you don't know which one is which. You may only ask ONE guard ONE question (that's one in total, not one to each guard). What is the question you have to ask to be certain of leaving the room safely?
Edit: Added some vital information I forgot. Gomen!

You're assuming that the magic he drains also transfers the abilities of the pony / draconequis drained across to him, which seems a doubtful assumption. Given that he can't fly despite draining every pegasus in Equestria, although his leap at Twilight might seem to give the impression that he could actually fly.
Simply put, the magic he drains doesn't give him the ability to use the magic in the same way.

I like his expression, though... 7/10!
Anyway, I don't know if you made your avatar yourself, but it's still pretty good.
No, I have zero artistic ability. This is just fanart I found. I did crop it myself, though.

Because the companies know that no matter how nad... I mean bad... (how's that for a freudian slip?) the toys are, overly-obsessed bronies will buy them, and that little children who are fans will whine until their parents just give them any old crap to shut them up? Then they can make the toys el cheapo, and therefore make a larger profit.

Well, liquids without viscosity (friction) will climb out of their containers. Can't have that when you're trying to pour a drink for your date, can we?
Isn't viscosity a function of mutual attraction between the molecules of liquid (aka cohesion)? I don't think that has anything to do with friction.

Probably Princess Celestia X Discord. Just... no. Celestia hates Discord. True, it might be ironically satisfying to assume it's due to a romance gone bad, but doesn't really fit Celestia's character. To me, at least.

what responses would ya'll muster to the accusation that, in Manehattan, Rarity was only being generous with the expectation of favors from those she was generous with.
I know what I would say but I want your guys' thoughts as well, untainted.
From my review of the episode:
"That is what makes Manehatten so splendid and amazing... you do something nice for somepony, and then you never know when they'll do something nice for you!"
This line in particular could possibly be misunderstood or taken out of context. Rarity is not saying she is only generous because of what she can get out of other ponies. She is making an observation that the good fortune of getting tickets for her friends came about because she did something generous for someone else, and that incident is typical of Manehatten. And then she shared that blessing with her friends. Besides which, it's really just a restatement of the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. It's not quid pro quo. She certainly couldn't have foreseen that she would need a taxi, and decided to help the cabbie because he would help her later. She didn't even need to ask for help, it was offered.
As for the song, it shows a number of ponies whom she helped, who never returned the favour. So she isn't going around being generous to get things in return, but she acknowledges that it's nice when it happens. As Rarity sings, it's her way of life to give freely to others.

Regarding the Alicorn Power, there is logic to hiding it and then using it on him when he least expects it.
There would be, but Princess Celestia gave absolutely zero indication that she wanted Twilight to confront Tirek. Her plan was for Twilight to hide, not to use the combined power of the 4 alicorn princesses in one to defeat him. Otherwise, she would have had Twilight simply smash him magically when he entered. He actually would have been weaker, having neither the Mane Six or Discord's magic at that point.

Well, they did get those ears and longer hair in the first movie, in front of the entire school. So it's not so weird that the other students don't freak out. Assuming the rumours spread afterwards, it's not so strange to think that Flim and Flam may have already heard about it.
Speaking of Flim and Flam, they look really odd as humans... like noodle people.

- Why couldn't she have reformed her sister Luna, the instant that she used the element of harmony? She chose the banishment option. The two parter that kicks off this whole series, we just see Twilight and soon to be mane 6 recognize their element of harmony and blast Nightmare moon back to Luna's old younger self. What was different compared to Twilight and mane 6 compared to Celestia that resulted in "reform" option versus "banishment" option. Was it a decision based on an emotional response? That you were so angry with your sister that you sent her away? Not usually good to make decisions based on emotional impulse - better to do them on logic and reasoning.
- Why did Celestia completely 100% doubt Twilight's claim that Princess Cadence was evil (the first time, around 18:34, just before the end of episode 25 of the two parter). Twilight was right in her suspicions of fake Cadance (Chrysalis). You'd figure that Celestia and Twilight would have built a reasonable close teacher to student bond (or surrogate motherly like bond) to not completely doubt Twilight's suspicion. Even if Celestia didn't believe her #1 honourable student, you'd figure she would have had at least tried to organize an investigation team to check things out to either completely refute Twilight's claim or investigate based on her own self doubt (if she had any). But she just completely throws Twilight's claim away, not even bothering to give it a second thought - and she doesn't have the dignity to say sorry for the doubt at the end of the two parter either (at least AJ had the decency to say sorry). Does she even know Twilight well enough that she wouldn't lie to her mentor?
I totally agree with you that Celestia's plans in the Season 4 finale were really stupid.
As for the banishing rather than restoring Luna as Nightmare Moon, I get the impression that she didn't have that option. First of all, she wasn't angry at Luna, she was crying over the fact that she was being forced to banish her. Secondly, Celestia once mentioned that she and Luna were once connected to the Elements. As we've seen, the Elements are less powerful or useless when their wielders are not in harmony with each other. In the comic as well, half of the Nightmare Force's reason for taking one of the Mane Six was that it prevented the Elements being used. So it's quite possible that reforming Luna was not possible.
For "A Canterlot Wedding," that is one of its many, many problems, but I think the writers were trying something: to make Twilight hit rock bottom, so that the hope spot where it seems like Cadance will make up with her and then doesn't will have more of an effect.

Many songs make me cry. "Warning Sign" by Coldplay, for example.

You have the half of it my good man; it's not Polsky (who did a live tweeting rather than a post) but one of the directors, Big Jim.
Can I go home now?
Indeed, you have defeated me with a mighty slam dunk of evidence!
Curses, foiled again!
Well played, sir!
PS: Your story changed again.
PPS: You win...

Discord stated a couple of times that he joined Tirek because Tirek offered him freedom, not friendship. Tirek says that "friendship is merely another prison", and the amulet was a sign of "gratitude and loyalty", not a sign of friendship. Sure gratitude and loyalty are aspects of friendship, but not the same thing. I reject the notion that he turned traitor because he wanted Tirek to be his friend.

Turns out it was the writer, Dave Polsky, who said it and it was after production ended but before the episode aired.
Ah, but you see, since you changed your story, now I have to consider you an unreliable source. Therefore I win.
Psych! Give me evidence of Polsky's statement, and if I agree with you about what it means, I will concede you the argument.
(Even though, technically, what I said about writers' intentions not always being what results still stands.

Which pony least lives up to her element?
in MLP:FiM Canon Discussion
I'm pretty sure that was sarcasm... from RD1452, I mean.
