  1. My Favourite Mane 6 Pony

    applejack

How did you find MLP Forums?

    Originally, I think I browsed, but I don't remember.

How you became a fan of My Little Pony

Before the whole thing started, I thought that mlp could be done good, if it only had competent authors. Eventually, on Gaia online, I found that some that played WH40K a bunch had some imagery of ponies in Power Armor, and I asked them outright "Is the show really that good?". The answers were a clear YES, so I checked it out, and indeed, it was, and currently still is, that good. ^_^

As the title say, I'm a returning one, rather than a newcomer.

For years I have had problems logging in, since after the original site moved, and personal problems just added to those. Only recently (the other day), I found the resolve to finally try to get on here again, and did so just now. (Thank you Tinker. ^_^ )

  2. One:

Do any Changeling Figurine exist yet?

    Two:

If not, would you like there to be? Would it be a good idea for Hasbro to make any?

    To explain the second question:

For starters, making changeling figuries would be very much mainly a catering to Bronies, even though it would perhaps eventually break the mold of "only cutesies for girls".

So, how interested would bronies be to see Changeling Figurines in Packages and/or blind bags, do you think?

I'm sure i'd buy at least one box and/or some blindbags, but that is me.

I think one box would be good, and some in blindbags.

But, what do You think, and would You like it?

  3. I have said it before, and i'll say it again:

I'm in it for the ride, and thus far, the makers of FiM has provided a really good ride, indeed.

I do want to point out the difference between "good rush" and "bad rush".

Both "Flutter on" and the Finale was rushed but while "Flutter on" was rushed in the way that things felt left out, i didn ot feel like that with the Finale.

To me, the Finale was a "good rush", as in nothing was left out, it was just described as it progressed.

I'm practically indifferent to the Alicorn thing, the point is wether it was explained well enough or not, and i would say:

Yes, it was explained well enough, especially for the original target demographic.

Oh, and i liked the songs and that it essentially was a musical.

  4. For your idea, Magic Man: Changeling Excange.

Ok, i have a probable one, too .... or several, really.

    One:

The combined power of Shining and Cadence is belived to have thrown away all changelings.

But perhaps some changelings was left behind, because "they just followed orders and didn't like the idea with an invasion to begin with".

Carefully, they have posed as ponies, or even guards, a little here and there, and some has even considered the idea of individual looks, instead of copying.

Succeeding or not, by using clothes if nothing else, and noticing that they can't duplicate the cutiemarks, they have been told that Twilight is the smartest around ...

    Two:

One that was thrown away ... hit its head ... and forgot who/what it was/is, and has been walking around planlessly, and winds up .. in Ponyville.

  5. * Claiming to see things in a wider context might mean nothing, because i can easily claim to see things in an even wider context than that.

    * Encouraged to put in mythological references? It was already obvious that there were a lot of mythological references, the only difference is that we now know that they were encouraged to add them.

    * Often, the yin and yang is noted to be at odds with eachothers. Celestia and Luna is NOT, they are instead in harmony with eachothers on a very different plane.

To say that they are similar to yin/yang may be correct, but they are not (like) the traditional Yin/yang.

One may say that the symbolism is very much toyed with in that case, perhaps that is fully on purpose.

You may have brought it up, but i'll say it anyway: That the "Sun and Moon" is two sisters ... i think it is Celtic Myth it could be referring to, since in other myths, the sun often is male.

By the way, i assume that imagery is far closer to describing the sisters, than Yin/Yang.

There is also one thing that disturbs me, and it may contribute to the annoyance ....

You keep saying that you are just describing what you see.

.... But, to me, that is not entirely true ...

It is mostly obvious when you compare the picture of Celestia rising both Sun and Moon, and comparing it to Freemason imagery.

    Why?

Ok, i may be wrong, do correct me then, but from what you wrote around it, and decribed the two pictures, it sounded like the sun and moon balance MUST be taken from the freemason imagery.

I dare say that balance is far older than than the freemasons, and it is also easily re-invented by people that haven't even heard or seen any of this age-old imagery.

Besides, i have pointed out the flaw in comparing the mosaic-window on the Mane 6, with the Sephira in the Gnostic Tree of life/Adam.

However, you just said they of course couldn't do the actual one ....

Well, they had no reason to do so, either, because it would not be interesting in the show.

Ok, if they add further characters to that window, then it might get there, but right now ... that comparison is off.

At most, it is what i suggested about the yin/yang thing:

They are toying with the idea, nothing esle.

  6. I'm another one that doesn't choose, because i think people exaggerate the bad impact of Twilie becoming an alicorn.

I also haven't seen how Equestria girls is yet, and i find no reason to judge it beforehand.

As i so often say, when it comes to the series, i'm in for the ride, and Twilight becoming an alicorn after a heartpounding-exiting solving of the situation, was just a natural conclusion to me, as was one of her first questions after she got her wings:

"Is there a book about being a princess i have to read?"

That shows that she still is the same geeky, bordering on dorky, Twilight. :D

I'm still having faith in the authors of the series.

  7. For starters, i'll see the show if possible, to give it benefit of the doubt.

    But.

    * I do NOT like their currently assumed designs, it is the same extreme-thin bodies that ranges on either anorectic or a body-shape very few people have naturally.

I feel at least Pinkie, if keeping true to her character, should be ... well, rounded.

    * I do wonder which ones is, or will be, responsible for things like storyline and such, and how much free reign they will get, because what they do, is what will make or break that franchise, rather than it using the characters from FiM, or the odd coloration or the "catering to an older demographic".

    * And yes, i might share himanuts' concern for the toy quality ...

    Also:

It should be obvious that this is an attempt of Hasbro to compete with Mattel's Barbie- and Monster High Dolls.

However, their approach of using a school is both good and bad.

Good: It do fit with the Mane 6 - Characters

Bad: They may seem like copying that part from Monster High.

I think the best approach would be to actually drag the assumed copying in a direction more fitting:

Harry Potter .... and or "Xaviers school of gifted youngsters" (as someone in a different thread suggested to explain the character's odd skin colours ... ), or why not mixing both?

Or, for the 6, they could even go the "Magical Girl" route, as Lauren intended for the Mane 6 originally.

What i do wonder about also, is the rest of the cast ...

    Will "Celestia" be the headmaster?

Will DeLancie show up as a weird guest lecturer?

Will CMC show up, and if so, how?

And, of course, will Derpy, whatever her name will be, show up, and how will that thing get treated?

  8. Which version of IE are you having problems on?

I might not be web staff, but I can say that the site looks fine in Internet Explorer 10 (and in turn, would mean it probably works fine in IE9).

I may even be able to pinpoint the exact problem, if so.  (Web developer here.)

If you're using Windows XP or IE8 or below...I'd recommend changing browsers, though.

    Owtch.

    I have XP .... and IE 8 .... XD

I'll update the browser, and see what happens ...

    EDIT:

But wait, i had the same problem when i was here on Firefox as well!

And i assume that was the latest version ...

Also, i tried to upgrade to IE 10, but wherever i went, it could say IE10, but then it referred to IE8 anyway!

... Which it was also pointed out to me that i already had if i tried to download it.

The only exception was a place where one could BUY IE8, and IE10 was included in it there ...

Currently, it works fine again, it seems the problem mainly arises when i also get a warning about "unsafe http-connection" or similar, while logging in.

How i log in when the "sign in" is covered?

I zoom out to 75%, and just below the blocking Forum-subscribe, one may see hints at "log in with twitter & facebook" ... and to the right of those, barely seen, if seen at all, the cursor notes a "sign in".

    There, i click.

  9. This is something I'd recommend making a ticket about so the tech ponies can help you troubleshoot and get it resolved.

Perhaps ... but i have no idea how to "make a ticket".

I get stupid when i see the page you linked to.

    I mean ... "Title"?

Shouldn't there be a place where it says "problem" instead?

    I have no idea.

Oh, by the way, that link worked as it should(it did not log me out), nor do i get logged out by shifting between pages in the same topic.

However, using the notification links do log me out ...

By the way, i haven't had ANY such problems with either IE or Firefox before ... like, 2 days ago.

    And, on topic:

When i use IE, this site's pages load faster, partially because the "equestria background" isn't loaded ....

So, having to use Firefox on here currently just increase the waiting for the pages for me ...

Interesting, now i am on IE, and i haven't gotten logged out yet ...

It seems to have something to do with that secure or insecure connection thing when i logged on, ... this whole thing is wierd ...

And sorry for disturbing in this topic ...

Although, yes, loading the pages do take less time for me on IE, because the equestriapicture in the background doesn't have to load.

  10. I was waiting for you to respond to my post, and while doing that, i saw you burying yourself in symbolisms that is there, isn't quite there, and even isn't there.

It is understandable, yet ... problematic.

Well, i pointed out the difference between YinYang and the painting of the sisters, and you just say "but it is right in the show".

That is ignoring the fact that you were wrong, even partially, about the paining as a symbol .... but noone wants to be forced to admit that they are wrong, even partially.

I have no idea how to continue from thereon.

I might just leave this thread.

  11. I have worse problems than just the "sign in" being largely unavailable:

    At
least 5 times now, and one of those times on Firefox (the ones before
that on IE), i have logged in, come in, but as soon as i used a link or
clicked away a message talking about "safe connection" or "encrypted page" ... or Firefox's "save password?" .... i has become logged out from this site, unable to post!

This last time, i took the sign in on the firefox page, and didn't bother clicking anywhere on the "save password" thing ...

If you are reading this, it seems to have worked this time.

  12. It do seem like it was the charity fundraiser to get accepted as an added game in that ... (forgotten its name) massive fighting game tournament .... that ended up as the last straw.

I say, Roll with the punch, before the cease and desist, the Mane6 said in a comment about above mentioned fundraiser, that even if they would get forced to C&D, like they now was, they now knew they could do it.

Even Fyre-Flye(is that the right spelling?) Lauren Faust herself seems interested in making oc's especially for a revised version of the game, probably knowing that this is the best way, currently.

I would not mind lending my OC to a new version (Ninja, weaker than AJ but also more agile, can shoot fireworks against opponent, likes grabs, and use smoke to disappear and attack from below or above. Outside of Fight, likes singing, dancing, having fun ... but also studying magic?)

I suggest that the new version has backgrounds and at least a few characters from well-known fan fiction and such, and also a few well-known fan-ocs ....

I'd suggest places like .... i keep forgetting the names! ... someplace in Fallout: Equestria, Fluttershy's SHED ... with "Fluttershed" as a hidden character, perhaps? .... and a Ponyhammer environment too, of course :)

I'm certain you can think of more.

Keep supporting the remains of the Mane6 now, ok?

    *cheering*

    O      O

    I -_- I  O___ -_- O  O -_-___O

  13. You call the cloppers the "dark side"?

    Sheesh....

I get your sentiment, you don't understand it, and you may sincerely dislike it as well, but you have clearly misunderstood a few things.

.... And calling cloppers "sub-furries" at that?

You obviously has misunderstood furries the same way haters has misunderstood both Bronies and Furries ...

I understand that sentiment, too, though, if one feels preassured, and just hear rubbish from haters and the people that hang with haters, or lets the haters tell them "what is true" ... then one starts to look for a guilty part that isn't you, but that you may be associated with, that the haters also hate ....

I was there once, myself, until i realized that i was just perpetuating the hate from the haters and the trollers.

I have said something similar before, and i'll do so here again:

The haters and trollers takes ANYTHING they can find, and twists it, so they can hate it more easily.

If they cannot attack people who like talking animals, then they attack religions, cultures and political views.

Once, they would attack redhaired ones, or darkhaired, or browneyed, or ... perhaps you get the point.

No, the cloppers aren't dying out, the haters has just been busy hating other things lately, since they didn't get the the attention from the bronies that they wanted to get.

I'm technically no clopper, but i have other fancies that seems just as wierd as clopping, in a way.

  14. I see so many ideas

    BUT

One thing that I wish to see that I have NOT seen been done by anyone is

    *drum roll*

    My Little Pony and

    GREMLINS

I am surprised and disappointed that no one has done this idea yet. It has been one of my most favorite film series and it doesn't have any more attention.

Seriously there is no one better at creating mischief in ponyvill then the Gremlins.

Now I know what you think

"But don't the gremlins only mess with technology?"

    Well No

Yes they mess with technology, but put them in a room full of anything and the will go nuts. They can use anything they have their hands on.

Twiligh has a lab. Well in Gremlins 2 the gremlins drank random potions that made new types of gremlins. Twilight's lab doesn't seem like a bad place to cause mischief anymore does it.

What about Sugarcube corners? I could see the gremlins causing havoc in the kitchens.

But wait there is more. The Gremlins are also known for their humerous behavior. They could be causing mischief and making you giggle at some points Becaus of the way they are behaving.

    Seriously though.

Can someone out there please make a my little pony gremlins cross-over.

I would do it myself except

    A) I don't have the drawing skills to make a comic

    B ) I don't have the writing skills to do a fan-fic

I have plenty of ideas though.

Just need help figuring out a way to start and finish.

@Phoenix237 Are you sure your not related to me? Gremlins is a BRILLIANT IDEA!!!

And I should know! I'm the founder of the Gremlins Fan Club on Deviantart :D

Somone has been experimenting on ParaSprites, and the result?

    ParaGremlins!

Instead of eating much, they cause havoc in a different way ....

Pinkie Pie would have fun with them ... a while.

Somehow, i'm starting to think of the comic "Darkness" .....

  15. *sigh*

Well something is obviously going to happen to Twilight, as apparently she will discover her 'true destiny' and is moving on to the 'next level of her studies,' whatever that means. Now whether or not that entails her becoming an alicorn or something I don't know, but I hope not.

I would be okay with something like that probably, especially if it was something temporary like the Elements of Harmony, bonus points if it also involves her friends somehow.

I barely managed to get through the first page, which had a lot of NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to begin with.

Also "i will like the show less if this happens" ....

Please, it is not your show or mine to decide its fate.

Ok, ok, opinions are fine, but this feels so much .... exaggerated.

Bronies here who just went NO ... and such, better has to face a few things:

Something is about to happen, and it is possible none of us knows exactly what.

It may be that Twilight becomes an Alicorn, either permanent or tempoorary, because her power levels are already far beyond the other in the Mane 6.

And yes, OF COURSE it is for Hasbro to sell "Alicorn Twilight" toys!

Those who think "it's just for selling the toy", i have to point out a few things:

    Rarity with butterfly wings

    Cadence

    Shining armor

    ..... Get it?

    I'l explain further:

Yes, from Hasbro point of view, they were very much just to sell toys.

    However.

From the point of view of the crew that Lauren put together, they worked those into the storyline far better than "just to sell toys".

The clues has been dropped, but the narrators, those who cares about the story, has done it so, so not even an "alicorn Twilight" will be improbable eventually.

Personally i think "Twilight as an alicorn? Why not? If the story surrounding it is good enough, it's ok with me."

I'm in it for the ride, not to control the ride ....

    • Brohoof 1
  16. Ok. I know I shouldn't say this on the internet. But come what may, I'm not the type of guy to keep my thoughts to myself.

Your first mistake is talking about religion on the internet. And my first mistake on this post is answering that, but oh well.

To put it simply: God has no effect whatsoever on your knowledge or wisdom. Usually, he's a step back, if anything. Because people who believe in some sort of god tend to just dismiss anything they don't understand as work of god, and make no effort to learn more. Of course you're different, you managed to learn a lot. Your problem is that your belief in god has made you believe you already learned everything you could learn. One does not need to find god to learn more, and there is nothing one can only learn if he believes in god.

And this is you second mistake. Believing that there is a single truth. That's an understandable mistake, since only philophers tend to discover this isn't true. What's really a shame is that you believe you know what this truth is. To be so disillusioned... (ohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyohmyi'mjustmakingmyselfatargetforflameain'tI?)

The truth is, the world is more than one thing. It is simply too big to be just one thing. And it might be true to you that the world is screwed up, but you know what? To someone else, the truth is different. To some people, it might be just like you say, to some it might be slightly different than what you say and to some it might be the complete opposite. But one way or the other, whatever you believe is the truth, that's YOUR truth, so don't assume it goes for everyone. Because the truth is not absolute, and two things that contradict themselves may both be true.

Mistake number 3. Man, I really didn't plan to make this a running theme, but you make this too easy. No you did not watch the world on every level. And even if you did, watching is not enough to understand something. You need to live it. Were you ever a hobo? A CEO perhaps? You know that "watching the world on every level", implies you did so regarding every place and every culture right? Well, tell me about the polictical situation on brazil. Yes, that is relevant, because in brazil we talk about polictics casually. Even if you didn't follow the elections you should know what people were talking about the candidates if you were "watching that level of the world".

Now, the last thing I'll talk about. This isn't a mistake you commited, it is just something I want to give my opinion on.

Why should you bother, you ask? Well, that depends. To some people, it is "the goods outweigh the bads". To others, it's "I have nothing else to do", and to others yet the only thing stopping them from committing suicide is fear of death. And you know what, I used to ask myself that question too. "Why should I even bother?", I thought. But unlike most people, I didn't stop questioning that until I got a satisfying answer. And you know the answer I got? "Why shouldn't you?"

Seriously. I don't need much motivation, so when I started thinking about both sides of the question, I realized that there were about as much reasons to bother than to not bother. And contrary to what you might think, that didn't make me realize I should care about what happens. If anything, that made me realize that I didn't give a flying sh*t about anything that doesn't concern me. What's the point of worrying if you can fix the problem? What's the use of worrying if you can't? There are kids starving in Africa, but blaming myself for it won't make their situation any better. Once I can do anything about it, I will, but for now, I'll just focus on my studies and on having fun.

But if ignoring the evils of the world is not your style, then there's the old saying: "Better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness". Remember Hurricane Fluttershy? What was the lesson? No matter how little you can actually contribute, every bit counts.

    * sighs *

Yes i will make the same "mistake" as you, but i'll try to be brief, since this is partially off-topic.

    * You say yourself that there are many truths, and yet you say that God has no effect on Wisdom or Knowledge.

Do you see that you are contradicting yourself there?

    * The truth ....

There is a truth, an entirely uncompromizing ultimate truth.

However, due to the myriad of point of views on it, including a whole lot of misunderstanding, lies, and fears on examining other point of views (and science and politics suffer from that as well as religions), it do look like "different truths".

They aren't different, they are just pieces of the greater jigsaw puzzle that do show the truth.

    * You should doublecheck the meaning of "disillusioned", i think you used it very wrong.

I do think i agree with most of the rest, though ...

    ____________________________

Right now, though, i'm more eager to bring this back on topic ...

    Perhaps this way... :

It is obvious, that several bronies feel a kind of "awakening" similar to religous ones when they have "met God", an wants to spread the information about Friendship is Magic as if it is a gospel.

Well, who knows, God is said to "work in mysterious ways" after all.

The OP of this thread, however, seem to think that it is the amassed amount of symbolism and true scientific references that is present in the episodes, that may have given that effect, along with the massive amount of artwork.

That is my impression, at least, but i don't think it is that, because the symbolism seems too off too often, to me.

    What would you think?

  17. _____________

Then please be so kind and correct me. I'm only human, I can err.

I didn't know it under that name. Are you sure we're talking about the same thing?

No one knows everything, so if you have some additional information about that tree, please share it with us. I like to learn new things.

    ___________

Look closely to the picture. Not only these six circles (Sephirot) match, but also the lines connecting them (the "branches"). And also the surrounding lines connecting them around the perimeter: in the picture they're connected by the elliptic shape in the background. Also, there's that central axis in the background below the device which matches one of the bottom connections. But as to the missing Sephirot: Notice how two of them match with these "levels" of the device, upper and lower rings. I mean these horizontal rings surrounding the conical shape of the "root" of the supporting device, with some wavy lines on them.

I know this might seem a bit stretchy, but keep in mind that they couldn't just put the whole damn Kaballistic Tree of Life at plain sight there, because someone from the TV station management would certainly spot that and could ban the show for using too much occult symbolism. This would be too risky. If I were the one to put these symbols there and pass some message to the audience, I wouldn't put it just at plain sight, but use some tricks to hide it better to pass the censorship, counting on that "those who know" will spot these symbols anyway, even if some of the parts are not directly visible. It's like with the following picture:

    img-1106645-1-HiddenTriangle.jpeg

Even if there are no triangles in this picture, you can clearly "see" one, because your mind can "connect the dots" basing on its experience with geometrical shapes. The same goes with hidden symbolism: if you know the symbol and its context, you can spot it even if some parts of it are missing, as long as the context is telling you that this symbol is hidden there, using your experience with such hidden symbolism. That's why they call it "hidden symbols" and not "apparent symbols" anyway ;-)

In one of my previous posts I pasted a photo of a fresco "The School of Athenes" by Rafael Santi and showed one of the hidden messages there. But this one was hidden only by the amount of knowledge one has. There are also other symbols which are not so much at plain sight -- they're hidden in the geometry of the composition, and you can find them only by finding the "hot spots" of the picture and connecting the dots to see the geometrical patterns:

Also, seeing these geometrical figures is not enough. To get any useful information from it (instead of just esciting of what you've found so far), you need next to calculate it, by using geometry and mathematics, to get the numbers. But this is whole another story...

Why? Read carefully. I wrote that in the Kabalistic Tree of Life one of the Sephirot is often hidden (not drawn): the one at the center above, caled "Da'at". It was supposed to be inferred (like the triangle in a picture above) by using your knowledge. I'm not saying it's hidden in the stained glass from Celestia's palace. But the Element of Magic, represented by Twilight, is exactly there, at the center, and we know from the show that this particular element was hidden, and needed to be revealed by using Twilight's knowledge about Magic and the "Sparkle of Magic" from her friendship. That's all I say. See the connection now?

    I've explained it above.

These symbols cannot be so much explicit (they're hidden after all) because they'd ban the cartoon before we could see them. The same goes with hexagrams and pentagrams, which in most cases in the show are "cartoonized" instead of being geometrically perfect. You can spot them only by seeing them in the greater context and seeing the repeating consistent pattern (i.e. that they always use 6-pointed stars with relation to Bright Magic and 5-pointed stars with relation to Dark Magic consistently across the whole 62 episodes so far).

No. You can be first. Tell me ;-)

Yes. The reason was as prosaic as that. I don't always have time to write. So I write rare but long posts when I have some free time.

P.S.: Something is constantly glitching with this forum's editor :-/ I cannot predict when it will show quotes' authors or disappear it, or it sometimes corrupts the formatting and I need to edit my post several times to get the required look.

Yes, "The tree of Adam" is just another name for that same kabbalistic tree.

It refers to, or implies that it holds the "blueprint to life", or something such.

Except for that, i don't think that i technically know more than you about it, ... or perhaps i do, but if i find it valid for this topic, i may mention it.

It would be interesting to see you try to fit the Mane 6 into the known Sephira, though ....

So, we have 6 sephira, one void, .... the void matches what you call "the upper level" .... one matches the "lower level", .... and you mean that the remaining 3 can be deducted mathematically?

    But?

There is one more problem (it was some time since i looked at the actual tree as depicted) you told me i was wrong about it, and yes you were correct, but in the case of the FiM window, the "da'at" is fully visible, ..... but that means that in the kabbalah, Twilight is hidden, and not one of the 10 known Sephira!

In that case, you have a full 5 sephira unaccounted for in the FiM window, or 3 if we count the "levels".

Sorry, that is essentially the same as "too many "if's" .. "

The result of too many if's, is that the probability for unintentional similarity becomes far more probable. It looks good, simply.

However, there is the "tree" thing ....

But instead of comparing it directly to "our" Kabbalah, one might see it as an attempt to make an "Equestrian Kabbalah".

That would explain both the similarities and the differences, as i see it.

    ......

And so, the yin/yang compared to the sisters pushing the sun and the moon:

The heart of light is dark, and the heart of dark is light.

However, Celestia(light) pushes the Sun .... no darkness there, while Luna(dark) pushes the moon ... ok, there is some light there, but not always, and not much compared to the sun ....

Essentially, the pic on Celestia and Luna pushing the Sun and the Moon looks very similar to the yin/yang symbol, but if one understands the symbolism, the pictures are very different indeed.

  18. Sorry, i just have to say this ......

You don't even see where you are obviously wrong, you just look for similarities, and you have found a lot, but far from all those likenesses is correct.

Like the Gnostic "tree of adam" ....

Ok, nice, the six elements fit perfectly the six first Sephira, ..... but where are the other four Sephira?

You say one is empty on purpose, it has to be found, thereby referring to the element of magic.

    But.

This means you have counted the element of magic twice.

    And.

Even so, there is still three Sephira left that isn't there.

    And the reproduced spacetime diagram?

Well, it is nice to know that the artists took their time to recreate it from the wike even though they didn't have to ...

Not to mention the typical cases of "this would look good, let's do it like this" that might just happen to be similar to chacras and the dna-spirals and whatnot, you have found things that isnt there.

What you have found and is there, though, is interesting, at least to those who hadn't really noticed it before.

... see if you can find how the sisters raising moon and sun is different from the Yin/Yang-symbol as a training ... or perhaps someone already has told you.

  19. Ponies are pretty much everywhere, I can visit a site that has nothing to do with ponies at all, and it's a guarantee there are ponies somewhere on that site, either it will be a brony arguing or trying to spread the fandom, or it will just be outright pony pictures and things...

while I dont mind this, I do believe there are limits as to where ponies belong. It's only a matter of time before i'm on Brazzers and getting Twilight clopping across my screen i'm sure...

Overall though I see what people are saying, it's a good thing that they're popular at the minute, and I guess there are bigger things out there.

Hm, I suppose maybe you just dont notice it unless you look.

    The bolded part there.

As an experiment, one should see if one can avoid:

    * References to Elder Scrolls (i think "Arrow to the knee" is included there, but do correct me if i'm wrong).

    * References to Portal (especially the ever-elusive cake).

    * References to Star Wars.

    * References to Star Trek (including "Red shirt".).

    * References to Full Metal Alchemist.

    * References to ...... that combined webcomic and -game that i somehow has forgotten the name on right now ...

    ... and so on.

Then, compare those to the actual pony-references you have seen in the same time.

  20. After reading the first page, i think i'll make some points while stating my selection:

    * Twilight cannot be an actual Atheist, she is the prize student of a potential or actual divinity. However, she has had a hard time admitting that things that doesn't fit her worldview may still exist.

I think she started as a follower of scientific principles, but may have become a bit of a Gnostic or Agnostic as well.

    * Pinkie Pie .... Grew up as Mormon or Amish, is now Pagan .... or perhaps of "The Laughing God" ....

    * Fluttershy is actually a Christian, "Blessed be the meek" and so on ...

    * Rainbow Dash - Atheist, tilting slightly towards secular Christian.

    * Rarity. Pinpointing her as a Jew is very much building on a stereotype on Jews as i see it ... soo no. Instead i define her as Muslim, one of their important pillars is "Charity" ......

    * Applejack .... tough one this, almost any religion may fit, not because she's bland, but she is an "honest-to-god" - working pony, and those may have any religion that is big enough in the area ...

To keep a bit of a twist, and being not entirely predictable, i'd define her as a Jew.

These are my current thoughts, i might have decided otherwise a different day .... Except for the three first, with them i'm fairly certain :)

Twilight - Agnostic becoming some religion. Though some may say she began to believe because of evidence, it was more of the fact that she now knew everything can't be explained(which is why at the end she stated that even though there is no evidence to support such claims, it doesn't mean it doesn't exist or isn't true).

RainbowDash - Undecided, and I say this because it is more of the fact that it seems she is still growing up to maturity. However, her characteristics are leaning more Christian.

Fluttershy - Christian, no questions asked.

Rarity - Christian, however a very prideful Christian. She seems to follow the stem of beliefs, but sometimes is materialistic.

AppleJack - I am going to have to say Protestant because with her stereotype, back then most people were Protestant(since during the time of the United States, Europeans that moved to America were protestant because of the high majority of Europe being mostly protestant ect. ect.).

Since when was there a demi-goddess in Equestria? If you are talking about Luna and Celestia, they aren't immortals, but alicorns with really special abilities.

I get the same stereotype. When I presented my hypothesis in the field of genetics, people originally thought I was Atheist because "atheists are just so smart". However, people should realize that Christians also love the fields of science because in our view discovering more about the Universe is like discovering more about God, but through a different perspective.

Seems we share similar opinions on Twi, RD and Fluttershy ....

And on that being scientific do not need to mean being an Atheist.

I do disagree with you on the matters of Celestia and Luna not being divine, though.

.... And Crysalis just overtook Canterlot less than half an hour before getting flung away by "The Power of Love" ....

  21. not so ridiculous really, for a fantasy world.

there's a whole series of sci-fi/fantasy books called Discword that take place on an enormous flat world.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discworld

I haven't read the series myself, though I should get around to it some time. I've heard good things.

I have read several Discworld novels, and they are recommendable if you like humor, jokes with genres(mainly fantasy), wittyful play with the english language, adventure and some action.

However, i have another suggestion for the planet ....

Perhaps "Equus" doesn't really have a sun or moon as such, and if it does, it always faces away from the "real" sun.

What Celestia rises each day, is not what we would call "the Sun", but really a mini - sun.

    Same with the moon.

Now, if the planet actually has a "real" sun, then it lies on the opposite side of the ponies' known world, or it might not even be any sun at all, but a research station ....

  22. Fan-Regular here:

I know the community in general is ok, and like a fair bit of the fan-creations, but i also know all communities has their douchebags, and the brony community is really no exception.

I really like the show, even though i haven't seen most episodes more than once yet (We don't have the Hub where i live).

I have a little merchandise, a crystal pinkie keychain and the wedding and apple family sets, but i would have more if the toystores closest to me had had blindbags and the collector cards ... :)

I tell people i think might be interested about MLP: FiM, and explain if it seems neccesary.

  23. Ok, who many want applecake for their wedding?

.... Not very many, it seems.

Not very many Humans, that is!

Remember, we're talking some kind of equines, here ... :)

Also, since Twilight were supposed to be there, it may be probable that Celestia wanted the whole Mane 6 to be there, just as an "extra security".

And, what is the best way to be certain that All of them comes?

Make them responsible for a part of the wedding preperations!

And face it, AJ is better at making cakes than at fixing entertainment.
