Isn't it a mite odd that many of the same people who insist that observation on its own can reveal the complete nature and history of the universe, will turn right around and concede that observation isn't sufficient to determine if someone is truly male or female?

Basically, observation of someone's physical body is no longer considered sufficient to determine that person's gender. Yet people still unswervingly believe what scientists claim to have proven about the history of the universe, based solely on observations of the present.
