  1. In this world nothing is completely accurate or consistent, some might shout science is, but as history shows it's subject to change or even be completely rewritten just as religion is.

Science is based largely off evidence though, it gives you it's conclusions based largely off the best evidence it has at the time. It changes because our technology is constantly evolving allowing us to better examine and understand the world around us. Religion is based entirely on faith.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with that, both science and religion have their place in this world.

  2. I'm sure there will be some non-Christians reading this, so let me just preface it by saying that I mean no offense or ill-will towards non-Christians. If I did, I'd be posting this comment in a more non-Christian-oriented thread. This is the only thread I can think of to post this in, as posting it anywhere else would likely garner a lot of animosity.

I've felt a bit overwhelmed on the forums lately by discussions about Magick and mysticism and various things that the Bible would basically deem Pagan. In the thread about "making a God" out of Celestia, someone actually commented that they should build an idol for her to use as an anchor into our world. Clearly, I'm not going be converting anyone via debates on the MLPF—it would be absurd for me to even expect to do so—but all that talk, all that active acceptance of things that I simply cannot accept, makes it very difficult for me to see any merit to remaining in this fandom. I harbor no judgment toward people who believe such things, but frankly, I'd rather not associate with them simply because those beliefs clash so powerfully with everything that makes me who I am. Ponies is a great show, but if being active in the fandom means putting my faith on the line even for a moment, it's not worth it to me.

I don't mean to vilify anyone, and I apologize if that is the effect. I just needed to say this, and I thought y'all would be the most likely to understand.

I'm not Christian, but I kind of have a habit of looking at every thread that I see so that's why I'm here.

What you're saying is completely reasonable, you have every right to be upset about something that you consider to be morally objectionable. However I would like to point out that you are currently in a thread dedicated to Christian bronies. That's pretty obvious, so what am I getting at? What I mean is that the only thing bronies really have in common is that in some way shape or form we all enjoy Mlp. Beyond that we could be any kind of person with any kind of interests, beliefs, opinions, etc. The people who have an interest in mysticism are simply a portion of us. I kind of like mysticism myself, not because I believe it, but because I think it's interesting in the same way religion is to me.

I don't think that identifying as a brony has any kind of detriment to your faith, It's the same as being a Christian gamer, or a Christian musician, or any other type of person who enjoys some sort of hobby. You simply enjoy this television show, and wish to discuss it with others who enjoy it as well.

However, if you do feel that being on a forum with some people who have differing beliefs is having some sort of negative effect, or simply making you uncomfortable, you could take a break from the forums and come back when these kinds of discussions have died down a bit.

  3. It's really only any good if you have a good commentator, someone witty and funny, and good with audience interaction. I also think it helps if the game they are playing has some random elements to it. Roguelikes, and rougelites are probably the best for streaming.

I absolutely love BOILR (Binding of Isaac racing league). Now that is a lot of fun to watch.

  4. I don't really do shipping all that much, but I like any pairing of characters from the binding of Isaac. Why? Because, it's absolutely hilarious to me that people don't realize what they are doing. All of the Isaac characters are just alternate personalities in Isaac's head. It doesn't matter if you're shipping Samson/Eve, or Cain/Judas, or even Lust/Greed, in reality you're just shipping Isaac/Isaac. It makes things really awkward if you think about it.mLjCg8d.jpg

  5. I would probably lay down and cry. Can you blame me? I'm trapped in a world that is so similar and yet so different, stuck in a body I have no knowledge on how to use, surrounded by ponies who seem to be either indifferent or downright hostile. Even the elements of harmony, beings who are supposed to be some of the best of the best seem to dislike me.

It's not like I can tell them about what I am, they'd probably send me to an asylum.

  6. So Rarity just bursts out of the television and pins me to the ground? Not very ladylike. In reality I'd probably just lay there in absolute shock and bewilderment. Can you blame me? Something I assumed impossible, literally just jumped out of the tv! It's like a bad fanfiction, except it's real.

However in the imaginary place in my head, I would be incredibly suave and flirt with her. We'd go on a long string of dates, and then I would get a pony ride.

  7. I haven't gone more than 3 days without playing the binding of Isaac since I bought it. However, I've spent the last few months waiting for the remake "The binding of Isaac: Rebirth." It's not just a normal remake however. Not only does it have a new art style, and a completely new soundtrack, it also includes over 150 new items, 3 new playable characters, new bosses, enemies, rooms, and secrets, and tons of gameplay changes to improve on the original. It's including actual controller support, and fixing all of the weird and annoying bugs from the original. Like this one time a boss got stuck in a wall and I had to restart the whole game!

Plus, it's coming out on Ps Vita, which means I'll have Isaac on the go. It's the only reason I'm buying a vita. Every time I play Isaac now, I feel like I'm playing a tech demo, it's driving me mad.

  8. You know those people that have like four children, and can barely survive? The ones that have trouble just getting food on the table? I means the ones that are all like "We can't afford anything, are kids are so expensive!" And then the wife is pregnant again a month later. The ones that are all "I just don't know what went wrong!"

Have these people never heard of birth control? I know accidents happen, but I'm not talking about those, I'm talking about the people who don't even try to prevent it. What exactly needs to happen to make them stop having kids, do they even realize what they are doing to these kids? I mean, birth control costs money, but kids cost a lot more.

I really needed to rant about this. It makes me really mad.

  9. So... Star Ocean + Fallout?

Yeah, I'd play that. The problem with post-apocalyptic on a different world is that post-apocalyptic requires that you know what it was like before everything went to shit. And not just some cinematics in the intro, but detailed stuff. Part of the reason Fallout is so popular is the attention to detail. Stuff you'd totally expect to find on a post-apocalyptic earth.

Which is one of the things that could make it interesting. Imagine if they tried as hard as fallout when it came to detail. Exploring this whole new alien civilization so similar yet so different at the same time. Architecture, literature, food, politics and such. They could get really creative with it all.

  10. I think any setting can be done well. People just aren't being creative enough. Mix and match setting to find a combination never before seen. How about a post-apocalyptic game filled with vibrant colors and rolling hills? Set on an alien planet where they only have medieval technology, and no humans, just the native species. Maybe with a sort of 1950's style soundtrack?

I would play that to death.

  11. Stop asking silly questions. Rarity is your goddess.

Being serious for about five seconds. I get what your saying, all of the mane six are pretty great. For me it came down to a battle between Pinkie, Twilight, and Rarity. I thought Twilight was my best pony for awhile, until a season 4 kicked me in the face. Her episodes were great this season, and it made me go back and rewatch the old seasons, and I realized just how much I like all of her episodes. I thought they were good before, but I never noticed just how good.

Just pick whichever pony feels the most natural, if it changes it changes. No big deal.

  12. Ponies are definitely a comfort zone for me. If I have nothing else to do or I am in a stressful situation, I love to just let my mind wander wherever it wishes, and equestria is probably the place it goes the most. It's comforting and familiar at this point.  Retreating temporarily into your imagination is a good way to deal with problems I find, as long as you remember reality as well.

  13. I've seen that video. It made me laugh.

I don't really have any real life friends at the moment, I just have internet friends. Sometimes I want nothing more than to punch them through the internet somehow. I always forgive people though, as long as they don't cause me any real major harm.

  14. I'm fine with grimdark stuff. But I absolutely hate the trend of "One of the mane six is really a serial killer, and they eat foals!" It's just really annoying and overdone, and I admit I prefer happy endings. One of my favorites was the silent ponyville series. Good stuff right there.
