Weekends flew by more quickly than school days for me, but things are far worse now that I have a job.

While I do not agree with your decision to ax the thread, I have appealed it. I do appreciate you being more civil in these comments, though, as I don't appreciate others making baseless accusations depicting me as "griefing mods" in addition to thread derailing in which they engaged.

I will definitely appeal this. I do not think it is fair to place a de facto ban a discussion that does not violate the rules in itself.

I honestly do not understand the reason for blanket bans like this. Why aren't the rules more clear about these subjects being banned from discussion?

I don't understand a "blanket approach" when a lot of forums simply target the individual troublemakers. This deters them from doing this in the future and such threads can continue in a more productive manner.

By that logic, I should be able to spam any thread I don't like and have it canned.

What is this but a de facto ban on the discussion of any serious topic of secularity vs. religion?

No rules were violated in the process, and I challenge you to prove otherwise. If it developed into flaming and trolling, the individual trolls and flamers should be targeted, not the topic.

So why should the topic itself be banned from discussion? Wouldn't it make more sense to go after the individual derailers?

Given how research indicates that homophobia may be linked with latent homosexuality, I am sure that WBC members secretly frequent gay bars. Hell, perhaps Fred Phelps has a secret gay bar inside of that church. :D

It is interesting that you were elected to such a position. I had no such opportunities back when I was your age, given that I grew up in a somewhat isolated small city of 33,000 people. I later joined a Marxist organization when I was in college and I finally got involved in some face-to-face discussion in my early twenties. I later relocated to a metropolitan area so I could engage in such activity.

I will keep this in mind; I have seen such "blind bags" and I do like the appearance of such pony toys. :)

Sleep is definitely a wonderful thing. Fortunately, insomnia has not been bothering me as of late. Of course, I never want to get out of bed once I do wake up. :P
