I have to say one of the weirdest/most disturbing things I've seen on the internet is this sub-genre of MLP art called...um, I think Fluffy Pony Torture or something? Which was basically those round/chubby-style ponies being hurt in various ways, usually crying and/or talking in lolcats-style speak. I just...Most R34/fetish stuff online doesn't shock me anymore, however distasteful I might find some of it, but something about those I just found really disturbing. *shudders* (the ones I saw weren't explicit or anything, but look them up at your own risk...)

 

Also...real-life serial killer fangirls. I suspect most of them are trolling or just trying to be ~edgy, but it's still a thing I find really gross. Fictional bad guys are fine, but...yeah, this is stuff that actually happened and had a devastating effect on the lives of real people. It's not cute or funny at all, and just think of how the victim's families would feel if they knew about some random person on the internet apparently "idolizing" their loved one's killer.

 

...There are so many bizarre things on the internet. that's the beauty of it, I guess, but it also leads to seeing things that one did not wish ever to see

Does anypony else think there should be a PinkieShy episode in S5? I totally think there should be (and not because of OTP bias...well, not JUST because of that anyway ) - they're one of the intra-M6 friendships that hasn't really had that much screentime outside of the occasional background moments. I would love to see them interact more and maybe even have a whole episode - I think there's a lot the writers could do with them that hasn't really been explored in the show yet.   Plus we need something to make up for Pinkie's horrible characterization in Filli Vanilli.

I'm not really into OCs in general - I have a ponysona, but she doesn't really have any personality or development, so I would muuuuch rather meet Fluttershy. Easiest decision ever

I'd seen ponies around on the internet before and at cons, but I didn't pay too much attention - the ones I saw most were Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, and a bit of Fluttershy. I didn't have any huge misconceptions about them really, except I thought that Pinkie would be more stereotypically "girly" because, y'know, pink and stuff.

 

I did, however, somehow have the impression that Steven Magnet/the sea serpent and Discord were the same character. I don't even know how that happened - my brain obviously just went "big dragon-type thing" and assumed they were the same, as SM didn't have that name in canon. So when I heard that Discord was a big villain in S2 before I saw it, I remember thinking that was weird because he didn't seem that "evil", he just wanted his moustache back

CP: I did meet Spike, along with the rest of Rarity's friends! We didn't get to talk much, but Rarity mentions him in her letters and he sounds really sweet. I'd like to get to know him better if I ever visit Ponyville!

CP: Hello! Well, in Manehattan, ponies are very cynical, so while I heard about them in the press, a lot of ponies though it was some kind of trick or scam. But I always secretly liked the idea, that the good in the hearts of six ponies and the power of friendship could be so powerful...

 

Anyway, everypony in the fashion world had heard about Rarity being the Element of Generosity, but Suri told me she was sure she was making it all up - that pony was such a drama queen, she'd do anything for attention. And, well, I'm kinda ashamed to say I believed her. *hangs head* But when I met her, I could see for myself she wasn't - she was so nice and so generous with her designs even when Suri was being all...Suri to her. I'd never seen anypony in Manehattan - definitely not any of Suri's clients - act like that, and it really made me realise a lot of stuff, about how maybe you didn't have to step all over everypony else to be successful. So I quit, but for maybe the first time, I wasn't so scared - because now I knew there was better out there for me, and I felt...safe, I guess? Because the Elements of Harmony were out there, and they'd watch over me.

CBP: Hi there! Rivalry - hmm, I guess it depends on the circumstances? I'm not competitive myself at all, but I can see why it might be fun sometimes, and motivate you to do better at whatever it is. But only if it's friendly/you don't take it too seriously. If rivals for whatever reason start being dicks to each other or using it as an excuse, that's not cool. And it's dumb when people create "rivalries" when there's no need for them - like arguing over which of the Mane 6 is better or something, people definitely take that too far.

It is tough sometimes, since a lot of the top designers are unicorns. But you know how some ponies write with their mouths? You can do that with sewing sometimes, but you have to be really careful not to poke yourself with the needle. My mouth was pretty sore when I was a filly, but I kept at it because there are some things you can't do with a sewing machine, and I really wanted my clothes to be perfect.

 

 

Most of my cosplays are pretty simple, but basically I've had a lot of help with the sewing stuff in the past (usually it's just things like sewing a cutie mark onto a dress). But I've actually just started learning some basic sewing because I want to be able to make more stuff for myself. It's something I hope to get better at

2. I LOVE cheese. Cheese makes everything better. Especially pizza. Four cheese stuffed crust pizza~

 

3. Oooh...boring choice, but my favourite is probably mozzarella. I also love parmesan, Red Leicester and halloumi.

 

4. It kinda sounds like it. But that's okay, because dairy is the best. Especially if it's Dairy Milk chocolate

Do you like musicals?

 

I love musicals! Most of the time I can't afford to see the shows on Bridleway, but I like just walking by and seeing all the posters, and listening to the songs. And I helped design the costumes for our school's amateur production of Hinny of the Hills once!

 

I haven't seen that many musicals, but I generally like them okay ^^ Though sometimes, I like just some of the songs on their own better than the whole musical. (Unless they're Disney musicals, those are awesome )

Dogs are my favourite! They're just so lovely and friendly and they get all enthusiastic and happy about everything, it's so cute   And they have such distinct personalities, just like humans. I also really love fish, of all kinds - I'm not really sure why, I just always have. I just think they're really cute and pretty and fascinating to look at, and there's so many different kinds. Also whales, seals, dolphins, most things that live in the sea reall

 

I also love lions, tigers, bears, foxes, snakes, crocodiles, elephants, budgies, orangutans, gorillas, pigs, bunnies, frogs, chinchillas...probably way too many more to list. The only ones I really don't like are most insects/bugs...and even some of them can be cute sometimes

One that used to give me nightmares as a kid was Silent Hill 2 (I think it was 2) - I remember my dad used to play it and I'd sit and watch. They had some really freaky monsters, the ones I remember were these zombie-nurse things from a level that was an abandoned hospital or something. Weirdly zombies in general don't really bother me, it was just something about the ones in that game (my sister on the other hand is terrified of zombies, and she blames watching my dad play Resident Evil as a kid XD), I guess?

 

Another one for Five Nights at Freddy's, at least when I first started seeing it around - I kinda blame myself for that one, though, since I know I'm a wimp who can't play scary games but I still watch videos and stuff of them anyway

I've never had a romantic relationship, and sometimes I think it would be nice to have one, but in general it's not something I worry too much about. I think I'm pretty picky (probably unrealistically so) and I have had crushes, but I haven't felt really attracted to someone in a long time. I'm pretty okay with that for now though because I don't think it's the most important thing or that you need to have a romantic relationship to be "complete" or whatever. I would, hopefully, maybe, eventually like to have a relationship someday, with someone who I like and who likes me back, but that seems really unlikely to happen for many reasons ^^; So for now I'm just doing my thing and if I meet someone I like, awesome, but if I don't, I don't mind waiting a little longer. I'm happy with my family and friends for now

 

...It maybe doesn't help that most of the relationships I've seen with other people have not worked out or been kinda messed up in some way ^^;; I mean, I know there are happy couples out there and that's awesome, but it does make it harder to believe there could actually be someone out there who would actually put up with me who I like back. I have been asked out before, but unfortunately it's never been mutual which is always an awkward situation >.>;; soooo...yeah?

As a person with Asperger's Syndrome, I'm not sure what bothers me more - the trend for diagnosing fictional characters on the flimsiest of reasons, or people acting like the condition is a "mental disorder/problem" or some sort of insult to the character. Yes, it's not easy to live with and it can/does cause many problems for me and others, but it's not a "problem" that can be "fixed" in some way - some people's brains work differently, and we have to learn to live with however that affects us, but many people with AS live perfectly happy, "normal" lives (whatever that means) and it's hugely insulting to say there's something "wrong" with them.

 

I think my main issue with characters getting diagnosed with AS (or other RL conditions, including those that legitimately are mental disorders, but I'm focusing on the one discussed here I actually have experience of) is that it always tends to focus on a very narrow, stereotypical set of traits - that are often, in the source material, portrayed as comic relief or a joke - that people associate with AS. Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory* is a good example - he's basically, as far as I can tell, just an insensitive asshole. When fans try to explain his behaviour by saying he's "obviously" got AS because he fits some very stereotypical criteria about what people with AS act like...it does make me uncomfortable, because it only reinforces the stereotypes (that are mostly negative and/or played for laughs), and can give the impression that people use it as an excuse for general dickish behaviour (this seems to happen online a lot). It isn't and shouldn't be an excuse for bad behaviour, and the problem is that then it gets made into an insult - I was on a chat the other day where "sperg" was being casually tossed around as an insult, and I didn't say anything but it made me feel horrible - and a bad thing, because of this false idea of what ALL people with AS are like, that people need to "defend" their favourite character from. For people like me who have to live with this thing that we know makes us different, that's not a nice thing to hear at all. It's not an insult, but nor is it something that can be reduced to a checklist of criteria to say "this shows us that character x OBVIOUSLY has AS, there is no other explanation for their behaviour". It's a complex, and sensitive for many people (myself included, lol can you tell), issue and framing it in such black-and-white terms does a huge disservice to all the RL people out there who are living with AS (either themselves or family, friends etc).

 

I don't personally see Maud (or Twilight or Fluttershy) as having AS - I also don't think she really seems "antisocial", just, as she said, expresses herself differently - maybe a bit more introverted, sure, but that's not at all the same. Also, "antisocial" is definitely not synonymous with AS or autism, and neither is being obsessed with rocks or whatever. I don't really apply RL psychology to ponies, for many reasons it just doesn't seem appropriate or appeal to me. She's just Maud, like Pinkie is just Pinkie and Fluttershy is just Fluttershy (and I love all of them, if that wasn't clear, and think they're awesome, well-written, relatable characters). But if people enjoy reading or headcanoning her character that way - as long as they're not insisting that it's canon and the ONLY true interpretation, or that that is what all autistic people act like - then that's cool, I'm not going to ruin their fun just because I happen to disagree. Maud is fictional and she can't get hurt by people misunderstanding her - but RL people can, and I can't blame people with AS for wanting to see characters like themselves as more than a one-note joke or stereotype, after all.

 

...phew, sorry, I think that rant had been building for a long time. but yeah, hopefully it somewhat made sense and didn't offend anyone. Coco out~

Is Jerry Peet the one who did Top Ten Worst MLP Songs? Because I remember watching one of those and just getting so annoyed - okay so a lot of my favourites were on there, but it's not so much the songs he picked as how he "justified" them. I remember a lot of random Rarity bashing.

 

...But then I almost never agree with top ten worst/best anything type of videos, or the MLP analyst videos in general - I've never seen one that I liked, even the ones that had somewhat interesting points just always seem so smug and "my interpretation is 100% fact and canon and if you disagree you're just dumb".
